Anya Taylor-Joy debuted Balmain’s Resort 2027 collection in New York City on Thursday.
The Lucky star stepped out in a midriff-baring cardigan layered over a vibrant purple bra and a velvet floral jacquard skirt.
Taylor-Joy styled the Y2K-inspired look with a polarizing pair of peep-toe shoes.
Anya Taylor-Joy delivered a Y2K-inspired twist on the color-blocking trend on Thursday. While visiting SoHo in New York City during the press tour for her new series, Lucky, Taylor-Joy turned heads in a colorful summer ensemble that hasn’t even hit the runway yet.
On July 16, the actress debuted a look from Balmain’s Resort 2027 collection, per Vogue. The top of Taylor-Joy’s outfit consisted of a bikini-style bra with ribbed pleating along the bust. Taking a page from the Y2K lookbook, she layered the vibrant purple bra underneath a cropped pear-green cardigan with gold button detailing.

The lower half of her ensemble included a yellow-and-orange velvet midi skirt with a floral jacquard print. Leaning into the beach theme, the cover-up inspired skirt featured a thigh-high slit that gave the outfit movement as Taylor-Joy strutted past the cameras. On her feet, the The Queen’s Gambit star completed the outfit with a pair of polarizing peep-toe mules in sunshine yellow. She accessorized with a $4,750 in Tiffany & Co. jewelry, including an Elsa Peretti gold bean necklace and diamond hoop earrings.

As an edgy finishing touch, Taylor-Joy opted for a black manicure and smoky gray eyeshadow with black mascara. From head to toe, the entire look was a nostalgic trip the past, bringing bold colors and patterns reminiscent of streetwear in the early aughts.
The same day, the actress turned heads in a sleeveless, metallic dress from Ferragamo’s Resort 2027 collection. The piece notably featured gold color-blocked panels and a coordinated scarf that wrapped around her neck and draped down her back. She accessorized with gold pointed-toe heels and $18,250 in matching jewelry by Tiffany & Co., including an Elsa Peretti snake ring, a double-knotted gold rings, and a matching bangle bracelet.
On July 16, the actress delivered another shirtless look featuring a tiny bandeau top paired with a matching peplum skirt and an extra-wide sunhat.
