Jesse Eisenberg won't be using his dual citizenship as an excuse to flee the United States — no matter how unhappy he is with Donald Trump's presidency.

One year after getting his Polish citizenship, the filmmaker and actor is shutting down the idea that he might follow in the footsteps of other Hollywood stars by leaving the country.

"I am a very lucky American. I have a nice life," Eisenberg said at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival in the Czech Republic, per Variety. "My wife is a teacher, and she teaches a lot of students who are not as lucky as we are."

He continued, "I think we feel, if anything, a responsibility to stay in New York and help those who are struggling through a tougher period in American history."

But Eisenberg doesn't see the point.

"No, I’m not going to leave because I don’t like the politics of America," he concluded. "That seems a little silly, because my life is very good."

As for those who made good on their promise, Rosie O'Donnell, a New York-born comedian who has a years-long feud with Trump, left the United States for Ireland ahead of Donald Trump's 2025 inauguration. Her departure did not cool the animosity between them and months later, the president called her a "threat to humanity" on Truth Social, adding that he has been "giving serious consideration to taking away" her American citizenship."

Ellen DeGeneres later came out in support of O'Donnell, revealing that she and wife Portia de Rossi were prompted by Trump's victory to make the move to England. Robin Wright, Sophie Turner, and James Cameron are other stars who have cited U.S. politics as motivation for living in other countries.

Meanwhile, Mark Hamill admitted that he considered his own exodus from the U.S. on the heels of Trump's win — before his wife convinced him otherwise. The *Star Wars* alum said he presented his wife, Marilou York, with two options after Trump's 2024 presidential victory: a move to London or Ireland to flee the horrors of America.

"She’s very clever," Hamill said. "She didn’t respond right away, but a week later she said, ‘I’m surprised you would allow him to force you out of your own country.’ *That son of a bitch*, I thought, *I’m not leaving*."
