The Super Bowl 60 combatants square off tonight in a highly anticipated rematch that NFL bettors have been talking about since the 2026-27 schedule dropped.

Seattle welcomes New England to Lumen Field for a prime-time showdown befitting of being the season opener. Last season, the Seahawks posted a 29-13 victory over the Patriots en route to their second Super Bowl title.

The Seahawks, led by quarterback Sam Darnold and standout wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, enter this showdown as 3.5-point favorites at most sportsbooks. However, DraftKings and Caesars Sportsbook currently have the hosts sitting at -3. As for the total, shops have agreed on 44.5 points.

The Seahawks have won the last five meetings (including last season’s Super Bowl tussle) with New England, going 4-0-1 against the spread during that run. If you go back even further in their history, Seattle is 5-1-1 ATS when facing New England since the 2008 season.

And if you’re looking to back the Patriots as underdogs in this spot, history is working against you and the defending AFC champions. Since 2000, the Super Bowl loser has gone an abysmal 7-19 ATS (27%) in Week 1 of the following season.

While I don’t have a true feel when it comes to a winner, which team covers the number or where the total lands, I have focused my attention on three player props ahead of this game.

Let’s take a look at those picks:

TE AJ Barner anytime touchdown (+270 at FanDuel)

I love Barner and fully expect the talented Seahawks tight end to improve off last season’s numbers where he finished with 52 catches (up from 30 receptions in the 2024-25 season) for 519 yards receiving and six touchdowns. He capped his Super Bowl appearance by scoring the only offensive touchdown in the win, highlighting a night where he had four catches for 54 yards.

Another positive for Barner’s potential success is the fact the franchise hired Brian Fleury, a former tight end coach, as its offensive coordinator to replace Klint Kubiak, who left for Las Vegas. I just can’t see how Barner, who is also the player under center in the “tush-push” scenario, doesn’t see his stats improve and I like him to score in the game.

WR Demario Douglas over 19.5 receiving yards (-113 at FanDuel)

All the pomp and circumstance tied to New England’s offseason offensive acquisitions centered around the arrival of A.J. Brown from Philadelphia and the four-year, $68 million contract the team gave former Green Bay wide receiver Romeo Doubs.

Obviously, those are massive pieces quarterback Drake Maye now has at his disposal, but not to be lost in the shuffle – particularly in this game – is fellow wideout Demario Douglas.

FOXBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS - AUGUST 13: DeMario Douglas #3 of the New England Patriots completes a catch prior to an NFL preseason football game against the Indianapolis Colts at Gillette Stadium on August 13, 2026 in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The fourth-year receiver from Liberty, who will function almost exclusively in the slot, faces a Seattle defense that runs plenty of zone coverage. And that’s where Douglas saw most of his work last season, running 71% of his routes against that defensive look.

So, why is that important? Well, the Seahawks showed zone coverage 80.4% of the time last season. That was good enough for third-most defensive plays in zone, only behind the Los Angeles Chargers (81.3%) and the Carolina Panthers (83.1%).

With the Seattle defense focusing on containing Brown and Doubs, that could open up things for Douglas and Maye to recreate the connection they had in the Super Bowl when the speedy receiver had five receptions on seven targets for 45 yards. The Seahawks were also 25th in targets allowed to slot receivers last season, so I like Douglas to clear this number.

RB George Holani over 19.5 rushing yards (-113 at FanDuel)

Let’s keep it real here and fully acknowledge the fact rookie Jadarian Price is going to be the primary running back, even after Zach Charbonnet returns from his injury.

Bet George Holani to rush for more than 19 rushing yards

However, I have a hard time believing Price is going to be forced into a crazy workload right out of the gate, which leaves the door open for George Holani. Head coach Mike Macdonald and his staff can utilize Holani in third-down and goal-line situations, which means I see a scenario where he winds up with close to 10 carries in this spot.

This prop bet was at 18.5 yards a few days ago on FanDuel and has since ticked up, so kudos to those out there who got that number before it moved a point. I still think Holani should clear 25 yards on the ground in a game where we could see Seattle doing plenty of running against the Patriots.
