Jodie Turner-Smith is enjoying a “dreamy” vacation with her daughter.

The A Big Bold Beautiful Journey star, 39, shared a post on Instagram recapping her recent “dreamy” vacation with her daughter Juno, 6, in the West Indies. Turner-Smith, who welcomed her daughter with ex-husband Joshua Jackson, included several snaps of them enjoying the beach, pool, wildlife and the beautiful scenery.

“Dreamy days at @fsnevis#FSNevis,” she captioned the post.

The former couple welcomed their daughter Juno in April 2020. After four years of marriage, Turner-Smith filed for divorce from Jackson in October 2023. At the time, the pair agreed to joint custody of their daughter and officially settled their divorce in May 2025.

In October 2024, Turner-Smith opened up in an interview with Glamour U.K. about the “adjustment period” that comes with co-parenting.

“Nobody hands you a manual. Everyone’s trying to figure it out,” she shared. She went on to gush about Juno, saying, “I said I wanted a brilliant, intelligent, sassy daughter, and here she is.”

Back in June, the actress appeared on a new episode of Hoda Kotb’s Joy 101podcast, where she spoke to the TV personality, 61, about how she navigates discussing her divorce with their 6-year-old daughter.

“I’m a child of divorce myself, and so is my ex-husband. So it’s like it’s always been important to think about, ‘Okay, what is the language around which we are going to talk about this with our daughter?’ Because it is her new reality,” Turner-Smith explained.

“We’re learning as well and not always getting it totally right — but the idea is always two homes filled with love,” she continued. “And I’m like, ‘You got two houses, girl.’”

The Queen & Slim star said having these conversations can be “difficult,” as she wants to find a balance between “being age appropriate and child-centered in the way that you talk about it.”

Still, she said “keeping it real” is also important so that Juno “has an understanding of what this means.” The actress said one of her “favorite tools” to use in these conversations is books.

“I read her so many books about divorce, about what that means. About what that new world is, about what is supposed to be happening, what’s not supposed to be happening,” she shared. “Children’s books have been helpful as well.”

Here’s what you today.

Stock Futures Rise as Market Looks to Add to Record Highs

Stock futures are higher this morning as investors digest a steady flow of earnings from major companies. Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 were up 0.4% recently, while futures linked to the tech-heavy Nasdaq rose 0.2%. The major indexes surged yesterday, with the Dow and S&P closing at fresh record highs thanks to investor optimism about strong earnings reports and hopes that the Iran war could end soon. WTI crude oil futures were up 0.5% at just under $81 per barrel after two straight days of sharp declines, as investors wait to see if a deal to open the Strait of Hormuz will be reached. Gold futures were up 2% at $4,250 an ounce, trading at their highest level since mid-June, while bitcoin was little-changed at around $64,100. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note, which affects interest rates on loans, ticked lower to 4.61%.

SpaceX Stock Tumbles After First Earnings Report

Shares of SpaceX (SPCX) are falling this morning, poised to give back most of yesterday’s gains. The Elon Musk-led company’s stock jumped more than 9% yesterday ahead of the company’s first earnings report as a publicly traded company, its biggest one-day gain since its early days of trading. SpaceX said after Tuesday’s closing bell that its second-quarter revenue nearly doubled year-over-year while its loss narrowed. Musk was optimistic about SpaceX’s revenue growth opportunities, but investors appeared wary about spending trends in the company’s AI business, following the recent trend of investor concerns over big tech’s massive spending plans for data centers and hardware used to run AI products. SpaceX shares were down down 11% in recent premarket trading. The stock remains well below its $135 IPO price and has lost about half of its value since hitting a record high above $225 in mid-June.

AMD Stock Drops Despite Strong Results

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) shares also slumping this morning even as the chipmaker posted results that topped Wall Street expectations. After yesterday’s closing bell, AMD reported $11.54 billion in second-quarter revenue and adjusted earnings of $1.66 per share, each topping the analyst consensus compiled by Visible Alpha. AMD’s third-quarter revenue forecast also beat estimates, but its guidance for gross margins was merely in line with consensus. Investors may have had higher hopes for the chipmaker’s outlook, and have also potentially become harder to impress after the recent recovery for the AI trade that followed last month’s slump amid AI bubble fears. AMD stock was down 9% ahead of the opening bell, on track to erase yesterday’s 7% jump.

Disney, Eli Lilly, CVS Shares on the Move After Earnings

Investors are also digesting a flurry of earnings reports released this morning, led by big names including Disney (DIS) and Eli Lilly (LLY). Shares of Dow component Disney were up 3% after the media giant topped fiscal third-quarter estimates, and announced a content sharing deal with TikTok to bring short-form videos from the platform onto Disney+. Eli Lilly stock was up 5% after the drugmaker’s second-quarter results handily topped Wall Street expectations, as sales of its weight loss drugs Mounjaro and Zepbound continue to grow, with the company also lifting its full-year sales forecast. CVS Health (CVS) shares were up 3% after the pharmacy chain and Aetna parent reported strong results and lifted its profit outlook. Investors will get more reports after the closing bell today, with Western Digital (WDC), Sandisk (SNDK) and DoorDash (DASH) all scheduled to release results.

Uber Slips as Lackluster Results Outweigh Robotaxi News

Uber (UBER) stock is falling premarket after the ridesharing and food delivery giant reported lackluster earnings, outweighing the news of a significant step in its robotaxi efforts. Revenue fell short of Wall Street estimates compiled by Visible Alpha, while adjusted EPS came in just 1 cent higher than expected. Ahead of the report, Uber announced that one of its autonomous vehicle partners, Wayve, has received approval to operate supervised robotaxi rides in London with its fleet of electric Ford (F) Mustang vehicles. The company said a few of the 100,000 people who have signed up to be early riders will get to try them later this summer before a full launch is announced. Uber shares were down nearly 4% recently.

As AMC celebrates a historic opening weekend, the White House is parodying the theater company's iconic prescreening promo featuring Nicole Kidman.

On Aug. 3, the official White House social media accounts posted a one-minute-long video parodying AMC's "We Make Movies Better" ad, which features Kidman and is played before a movie begins at the theater chain. Whereas AMC's video promotes the magic of movie theaters, the White House's video, which appears artificial intelligence-generated, promotes the determination of President Donald Trump's administration.

"We come to this place for MAGA, to fight, fight, fight and win, win, win because we need that, all of us," the White House's video begins, featuring a man wearing a Make America Great Again ballcap. In comparison to AMC's, Kidman opens with, "We come to this place for magic. We come to AMC Theatres to laugh, to cry, to care because we need that, all of us."

In addition to a similar script, the videos are visually similar. During her opening line, Kidman walks through a puddle of rain that reflects the AMC logo. In the White House's video, a man wearing white sneakers walks through a similar puddle that instead reflects the White House.

Brace yourself: More ads before movies at AMC theaters, reports say

Released in 2021, AMC's ad quickly gained traction with moviegoers, even inspiring a "Saturday Night Live" skit.

The White House did not indicate why it parodied the 5-year-old video now; however, it comes after AMC Entertainment announced on Aug. 3 that it set the highest weekend revenue in its 106-year history with the opening of "Spider-Man: Brand New Day." The film, starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, made $927 million globally.

Neither the White House nor AMC immediately responded for comment about the video when contacted by USA TODAY on Aug. 4.

What does the White House video say?

In full, the White House's video says:

Officials from Tour de France Femmes will be doing extra clothing checks on riders after rumors circulated that some athletes are utilizing extra padding in their bras for a potential aerodynamic advantage.

On Sunday, Aug. 2, Wielerflitsreported that a handful of teams competing in the tournament were “bothered by how some female cyclists exploit their breast size in time trials.” The outlet said the riders were “faking a larger cup size using padding” so that they can “create an aerodynamic advantage” in the trial.

Official rules set by the International Cycling Union (UCI) state that riders can not artificially modify their clothing, but the outlet said that this policy is “currently virtually unenforced.”

On Tuesday, Aug. 4, officials said they’ll be doing closer checks. “Riders must be at the final checks before the race (bikes and outfit) no later than 10 minutes before their respective start time,” a statement from organizers said, per Sky Sports.

“Particular attention will be paid to compliance with article 1.3.032 of the UCI regulations, including non-essential elements and clothing or other items/accessories worn by a rider (including but not limited to helmets, glasses, shoes or in-race communication devices) which could modify riders’ morphology,” the statement continued.

The “non-essential elements” are considered “any element which does not have a purpose which is exclusively of clothing or protection, or which is not strictly necessary for the functionality of the clothing, or other item, or accessory,” according to Sky Sports.

Tuesday’s route for riders, between Gevrey-Chambertin and Dijon, is roughly 9.3 miles.

Speaking to Wielerflits, aerodynamics expert Bert Blocken explained more about the advantage.

“We are talking about a chest fairing, which alters the airflow around the body, thereby reducing overpressure on the thighs. As a result, the rider experiences less air resistance. It is not that you gain a benefit of tens of seconds with this in a time trial, but in a ride of 20 to 30 kilometers, it can yield seconds that can be decisive,” Blocken said.

When addressing a specific example of this advantage, the outlet reportedly showed Blocken images from time trials last season, in which some riders were “visibly wearing something under their jerseys on the chest,” Blocken said. He added, “This is clearly not okay,” per Wielerflits.

What to watch for in SpaceX's first public earnings report today

SpaceX is set to issue its first earnings report as a public company on Tuesday, offering a detailed look at how the rocket, satellite and AI provider is faring after its ballyhooed initial public offering in June.

SpaceX shares have sputtered after initially soaring following the transaction, the largest IPO in U.S. history. The company's stock price rose in Tuesday morning trading, gaining $5, or 4.4%, to $119.53. Still, that represents an 11% decline from its IPO price of $135 per share and a 47% plunge from its intraday high of $225.64 on June 16.

SpaceX is scheduled to release its financial results on Tuesday after the close of stock market trading at 4 p.m. ET. That report will be followed by a call with Wall Street analysts at 4:30 p.m., in which company founder and CEO Elon Musk is expected to answer questions.

"Wall Street analysts will focus on the hard numbers, but retail investors will be influenced by some of the sound bites" during the earnings call, Jay Ritter, an IPO expert and professor at the University of Florida's Warrington College of Business, told CBS News in an email.

Here are three things to watch for when SpaceX releases its first earnings report.

Is revenue growth strong?

Investors will look at the pace of SpaceX's revenue growth. The company booked $18.7 billion in revenue last year, but suffered a net loss of more than $4.9 billion, according to a regulatory filing.

For the second quarter ended June 30, SpaceX is expected to report a net loss of $1.9 billion, according to a FactSet survey of analysts. Losses for the first half of 2026 could top $5 billion, although some analysts think SpaceX could show strong growth in the second half of the year and even eke out a profit.

Melissa Otto, head of Visible Alpha research at S&P Global, forecasts $6.9 billion in revenue in the second quarter, driven by its Starlink broadband satellite network. Gains from the connectivity business will help offset operating losses in the company's space exploration and AI segments, she said in an analysis.

Analysts will focus in particular on Starlink's subscriber growth and revenue. Nicolas Owens, an equity analyst at Morningstar covering SpaceX, expects subscriber growth of 93% in 2026, compared with 229% in 2025.

Musk is also likely to be asked about the timeline for testing SpaceX's Starship rockets, which NASA hopes to use to put astronauts on the moon again; his plans for its satellite network; and the prospects of putting solar-powered data centers in orbit.

SpaceX launched its 13th Starship rocket in late July, with the company targeting a landing on the moon in 2028. For now, however, no Starship has been put into Earth orbit.

Is the AI business on the right track?

Another major question is whether SpaceX's massive investment in artificial intelligence shows signs of paying off. In other words, can its AI business start to generate the revenue necessary to justify the company's $1.4 trillion valuation?

In the first three months of 2026, SpaceX's AI segment had revenue of $818 million, according to a securities filing. The division is focused on scaling AI compute infrastructure by sending data centers to space and enhancing the performance of Grok, the AI chatbot developed by xAI that SpaceX bought in February.

Investors will also assess SpaceX's quarterly AI revenue for clues on how fast the business could grow. That includes plans for Cursor, the AI coding startup that SpaceX recently acquired, and how it figures into Grok's future, Ritter said.

"If SpaceX can grow this part of its business, it could be an important source of revenue in the next few years, along with Starlink and terrestrial data centers," he said in an email.

Can the stock regain momentum?

SpaceX's first earnings report could affect its short-term stock price, which has slumped in part due to investor concerns about the company's AI investment.

While investors will undoubtedly pay attention to the numbers in the earnings report, Dan Ives, partner and senior managing director at Yorkville Ives & Co., said sentiment will largely hinge on the tone and vision Musk sets during the earnings call.

"Investors are betting much more on the future, and SpaceX needs to give them near-term [targets] that they can hit to show the success, because the stock is based on the longer-term vision," he told CBS News.

Another key test for the stock will come on Thursday, when more than 911 million SpaceX shares worth roughly $100 billion will be released as the lockup period ends.

Short sellers have already made more than $8 billion betting against Elon Musk's rocket company, driving the stock price down, according to Ritter. However, some investors are expected to shift into buying mode when the lockup period expires, reducing volatility in the shares.

"Some of them will become buyers this week, soaking up shares that existing shareholders will be allowed to sell," he said. "This short covering will reduce the drop that otherwise will be occurring on Thursday."

The top federal prosecutor in the nation's capital carted a box full of evidence to the White House on Monday, in a bid to prove to President Trump that the damage to the Reflecting Pool was caused by shoddy construction and not by vandals, sources familiar with the matter told CBS News on Tuesday.

U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro, a staunch ally of the president, made the case in a sometimes heated private meeting in the Oval Office Monday, hours after Mr. Trump had publicly rebuked her for dropping criminal charges against Olympic canoeist David Hearn.

She was later photographed leaving the White House carting a large white box and other bags, which sources said contained all of the evidence collected from the Interior Department that exculpated Hearn and several others from criminal vandalism.

A spokesperson for Pirro's office declined comment.

Mr. Trump earlier in the day had accused Pirro of folding "like an umbrella," after her office on Friday filed a motion dismissing the felony case against Hearn.

In the motion, prosecutors blamed the Interior Department for holding back critical evidence that they claimed they did not see until after they had secured the indictment from the grand jury in D.C.'s Superior Court. They said new information they had received indicated that the damage was caused by a "botched installation" by a contractor, not vandalism, as the president and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum claimed. On Saturday, Burgum said in a post on X, "The evidence is clear, vandals have repeatedly caused damage to the Reflecting Pool."

The U.S. attorney's office has also since moved to dismiss criminal charges against three others accused of vandalizing the Reflecting Pool.

Pirro's office has suffered a number of high-profile setbacks involving cases related to Mr. Trump's enemies and topics of personal interest to him.

Earlier this year, a grand jury uniformly refused to indict six Democratic lawmakers for posting a video urging military members not to follow orders they believe are illegal. Historically, a grand jury refusing to return an indictment is highly unusual, let alone having a grand jury unanimously refuse to do so.

Then, the chief judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia quashed grand jury subpoenas issued by Pirro's office to investigate former Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell and the Fed itself in connection with a costly renovation and statements he made to Congress about that work.

In doing so, the judge said the subpoenas were merely a pretext to pressure Powell to lower interest rates. Pirro later dropped the investigation, but not before several of her deputies first made an unannounced visit to the Fed's construction site and tried to gain access to the property before being turned away.

Travis Kelce is reportedly facing scrutiny from Taylor Swift’s friends amid claims he is already planning his next career move. The reports come as Swift is said to be under growing pressure to support Kelce throughout the NFL season. For the unversed, the high-profile couple married on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, surrounded by close friends and family.

Taylor Swift’s friends think Travis Kelce is underestimating country career, sources claim

Travis Kelce is facing doubts from Taylor Swift’s friends for overestimating his celebrity status. This comes at a time when he is reportedly pivoting to a country music career next.

For the unversed, the Kansas Chiefs tight end reportedly performed at the couple’s wedding at Madison Square Garden and is now ready to take the next step. The NFL star is setting his sights on releasing a country album.

An insider told Rob Shuter: “Travis has been talking about making a country album for months.” According to them, the MSG wedding performance was an informal audition to see how the biggest names in the industry would react. This comes after his older brother Jason Kelce reportedly declared that Travis “can sing” and has “always been able to carry a tune.”

However, Swift’s friends believe that Kelce is overestimating his own stardom and does not realize how tough it is to crack country music. A source told Rob Shuter: “Some of Taylor’s friends in the music industry think he’s underestimating how tough country music really is. Celebrity might get you through the front door, but it won’t keep you on the charts. You still have to earn the respect of Nashville.”

Interestingly, reports of Kelce pursuing a country music career come at a time when the Grammy winner faces pressure to embrace her role as a WAG. As per HeatWorld: “She can’t just relax and watch the game the way everyone else does – she has to constantly be on and doing everything perfectly. Even for someone as used to the spotlight as Taylor is, it’s daunting.”
