Best known for making a name for herself as Philomena Cunk and for her unmistakable deadpan humor, Diane Morgan is putting that signature delivery to good use in the new BBC series Ann Droid, which she created and wrote with Sarah Kendall.

Debuting in July 2026, the absurdist comedy follows a hapless eldercare robot named Linda (Morgan) as she attempts to help the humans around her, only for her efforts to expose and critique their increasingly absurd behavior. The comedy became a breakout hit of the season and scored a Season 2 renewal, continuing the adventures of Linda and her human, Sue (Sue Johnston).

With another season already on the way, when will Ann Droid be available to stream in the States? Here is everything we know so far.

Where is Ann Droid streaming?

Ann Droid is not currently available to stream on any official platforms in the United States. However, British broadcasts often take several months to find a dedicated American distributor like BritBox or Acorn TV before they can cross the pond. Please check back for any updates.

As of the writing of this article, the six-episode British comedy series is exclusive to BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the United Kingdom.

What is Ann Droid about?

Set in 2029, the story follows Sue (Sue Johnston), a widow whose husband, Dave, died a year and a half earlier. When her son Michael (Paul Ready) moves out to work on his marriage, he worries about leaving his elderly mother alone, so he buys her an Android Z58/100 Basic Eldercare Robot named Linda (Diane Morgan).

Across six episodes, Sue has a rocky relationship with Linda as she dislikes the robot whose well-meaning attempts to help her navigate grief frequently end in chaos, from a disastrous charity shop mishap to camping misadventures. Meanwhile, Michael struggles to repair his marriage to his wife Renee (Andrea Valls) while facing mounting problems in his professional life. Linda’s peculiar approach to caregiving pushes Sue and Michael to confront loss and what it means to move forward.

Who stars in Ann Droid?

The series stars Diane Morgan as Linda, the eldercare robot, alongside Sue Johnston as Sue, the woman in her care, and Paul Ready as Sue’s son, Michael.

Is there a trailer?

Indeed! Check out the trailer above while we patiently wait for word on when we can watch it here in the States.

Head coach Vitor Matos says a summer of transfer speculation has not been easy for Zan Vipotnik as the Slovenia striker waits to see whether he will stay at Swansea City.

Vipotnik has been linked with a move having finished the 2025-26 season as the Championship's 23-goal leading scorer.

But as the clock ticks down until Tuesday's 23:00 BST transfer deadline, Swansea say they have received no offers for Vipotnik since Hull City had a bid of about £10m rejected earlier this month.

Vipotnik has featured in Swansea's three games so far this season and should again be involved at Derby County on Saturday.

But head coach Matos says rumours over a potential transfer are "never easy" for a player.

"Of course there is always a lot of noise regarding his future and how it will be," Matos said.

"He is a lovely kid with a really big heart, a good professional, but of course it is not easy. Before anything they are human beings and we need to take care of that part.

"But so far what I've seen is he's committed, he's training well, he's always in a good mood, especially because he went to the PFA [Awards] and received another award. So yeah, he's dealing in the best way possible I would say."

Swansea have consistently said they are under no pressure to sell Vipotnik, who signed a new long-term contract in March.

Nevertheless, the club have effectively prepared for the forward's possible departure by bringing in Ross Stewart this summer.

As a result, should a big enough bid arrive before the window closes, they could be willing to sell.

When asked whether Swansea may draw the line at some point and declare that Vipotnik is not for sale, Matos said: "I think we will only say that when the transfer window is closed, but that's the same regarding every player."

Cam Skattebo does not seem to be doing much to endear himself to either his teammates or his head coach in New York.

Reports from a Giants practice session on Wednesday indicate that Skattebo made a risky play that sparked a fight. With the defense not being allowed to hit, Skattebo slid down on a reception that was reportedly "dangerously close" to taking out the legs of multiple Giants defensive backs. This caused a confrontation between Skattebo and Greg Newsome to escalate, and after practice, head coach John Harbaugh blasted Skattebo's decision.

"He got a 15-yard penalty at the end of practice," said Harbaugh when asked about Skattebo's energy. "Did you see that? Yeah, it’s infectious. It can be infectious the other way, an infectious disease type of thing. We want it to be in a positive way.”

Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, who first reported the incident, also said that Skattebo ran over a defender the other day when the defense was not hitting, and claimed his "act" was getting old to his teammates. Giants offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor responded on social media, accusing the reporter of crafting a "BS narrative."

‘There’s a Reason His Shows Keep Getting Canceled’ — NFL Fans Outraged By Craig Carton’s Divisive Troy Aikman, Patrick Mahomes Hot Take

Craig Carton has never been afraid to make bold statements, but his latest take on two of the NFL’s most clinical quarterbacks sparked plenty of backlash.

The sports talk host questioned Troy Aikman’s standing among the league’s greats, while also suggesting Patrick Mahomes may not have become a superstar if he had been drafted by a different team.

His comments quickly drew criticism from fans and members of the community.

Craig Carton Sparks NFL Fan Outrage Over Patrick Mahomes, Troy Aikman Remarks

During his show, Carton argued that Aikman benefited heavily from the talent around him during the Dallas Cowboys’ dominant run in the 1990s.

Aikman won three Super Bowls with Dallas and played alongside Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith, HoF WR Michael Irvin, and an elite offensive line.

Carton said, “I’ll get killed for this. I think Troy Aikman was an average quarterback. He had a pop-gun arm, but he played behind the best offensive line in football, had the best running back in football at the time, and arguably the best wide receiver in football, the best tight end in football, and a top-ten defense.”

Carton extended his roster-dependent logic to Kansas City’s superstar, asserting that if Patrick Mahomes had been drafted by a struggling franchise like the Jacksonville Jaguars a decade ago, people would “never even have heard of Patrick Mahomes.”

The comments quickly spread online, with fans and analysts questioning Carton’s assessment of Aikman and Mahomes.

One fan took a direct shot at Carton, writing, “There’s a reason his shows keep getting canceled.”

One NFL analyst dismissed the argument entirely, saying, “Should I start saying things out of my [expletive] too? What an awful take.”

JaguarGator9 took particular issue with Carton’s praise of Aikman’s supporting cast, saying, “The most egregious thing about this, amazingly enough, is when Carton said that Aikman had arguably the best receiver in football. Who the heck was arguing Michael Irvin over Jerry Rice?”

NFL staff writer Matt Verderame offered a more sarcastic response, writing, “Makes a fortune to talk sports. Awesome.”

START PREPARING:PFN’s Free Fantasy Draft Simulator

Trey Wingo focused on what he saw as a lack of historical context in Carton’s argument. “The inability to contextualize data and eras here is truly astounding. John Madden on several occasions called Troy the most accurate QB he’s ever seen …especially in high-pressure situations. I’ll side with John 100 times out of 100.”

NFL writer Jason Cole was even more blunt, writing, “Come on, let’s stop doing stupid [expletive] like this.”

Carton’s take falls apart under basic historical scrutiny. While Aikman operated in a run-heavy system alongside elite talent, his postseason ball placement, processing speed, and poise under pressure were foundational to the Cowboys’ dynasty, not merely a side effect.

Similarly, dismissing Mahomes’ rare physical tools and instincts as pure circumstantial luck ignores what makes him a generational talent in any system.

Due to a new price increase announced by the U.S. Postal Service, Americans will have to pay more to ship their parcels this fall.

Millions of consumers are expected to start mailing presents and packages in advance of the hectic holiday season, which coincides with the surge. Starting on Oct. 4, USPS intends to temporarily increase the cost of several of its better-known shipping services.

Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, USPS Ground Advantage, and Parcel Select will all be impacted by the seasonal surcharge. However, since the price hike is set to expire on Jan. 17, 2027, users won't be forced to pay the higher pricing indefinitely.

• USPS' recent policy change could cause your taxes to be filed late

• USPS announces ban on shipments from multibillion-dollar industry over safety concerns

The Postal Regulatory Commission must yet approve the suggested modifications before they can be implemented.

The USPS's new rates will take effect at 12 a.m. CT on Oct. 4 and return to normal at 12 a.m. CT on Jan. 17, assuming regulators accept them.

The temporary increase, according to USPS, is intended to offset the additional expenses associated with managing a spike in parcels during the busiest holiday season.

“This temporary price adjustment is to help cover extra handling costs to ensure a successful peak season. This seasonal adjustment will bring prices for the Postal Service’s retail and commercial customers in line with competitive practices," the agency said.

The service, package weight, and distance traveled will determine how much more Americans will pay. When shipping within Zones 1 through 4, retail customers will pay an additional 50 cents for Priority Mail and Ground Advantage packages up to three pounds.

Packages weighing between 11 and 25 pounds will cost an extra $1.25, and those weighing between 26 and 70 pounds will cost an extra $3.90.

The cost of Priority Mail shipments to Zones 5 through 9 will increase by $1 for parcels up to 3 pounds and by $4.30 for those weighing 11 to 25 pounds.

Priority Mail items weighing between 26 and 70 pounds are subject to an extra $9.10 charge when they travel to specified zones. While other Flat Rate products will increase by $1, Large Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes will cost an extra $2.10.

Customers who use Priority Mail Express will see some of the largest increases. Packages weighing between 26 and 70 pounds that are being transported to zones 5 through 9 will see a $20.80 increase in retail costs.

More moderate hikes will be applied to smaller Express shipments, with items weighing up to three pounds moving within Zones 1 through 4 starting at $1.40.

Dolly Parton confirmed she had undergone several plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures over the years to maintain her signature look.MEGA

Dolly Parton was famously candid about the plastic surgery procedures behind her signature look.

In a 2009 interview with 60 Minutes' Morley Safer, the "Jolene" hitmaker revealed the woman she was "most impressed with" when she was younger was "the town tramp" — a local woman from her Tennessee hometown.

"This woman had the yellow peroxide hair," she said. "She had the red nails, the red lipstick, the beautiful eyes, the high heels, short skirt, and I thought she was the prettiest thing I'd ever seen. And whoever I was with said, 'Oh, she ain't nothing but trash.' And I make the joke, and I would say, 'Well, that's what I'm going to be when I grow up.' Meaning, that's how I want to look."

Parton echoed that sentiment in a separate interview with Gayle King, saying the town tramp inspired her trademark look.

To maintain her signature look, the country icon underwent a number of plastic surgeries and cosmetic procedures over the years.

Dolly Parton Openly Admitted to Having Plastic Surgery

Dolly Parton frequently spoke about the risks that come with plastic surgery.MEGA

One of the earliest detailed accounts of the musician's plastic surgery came during a 2003 interview with Larry King. When asked why she had been so open about her cosmetic procedures, she explained that she did not want to "lie about it," especially because people often asked her about the work she had done.

"I would say if I — you know, if I see something sagging, dragging or bagging, I'm going to go have the stuff tucked or plucked," Dolly revealed.

She also confirmed having facelift, eye surgery, collagen in her lips, Botox, liposuction and excess-skin removal during the sit-down before addressing the longstanding attention around her b------.

"I am so tiny that my b---- just look so much bigger than they are. They're actually just about 39 inches around," she told Larry. "But they do like I pump them up with a bicycle pump. But I like them. Like I say, I don't know -- I mean, they have served me well. I don't know if I'm supporting them or they're supporting me, but it's working, and I'm happy with it. So, as long as I'm happy, I can make everybody else happy. And I don't care."

That same year, the "Coat of Many Colors" songstress shared on The Oprah Winfrey Show she had "some nips, pulls and tucks."

"Yes, I have, and I'll have some more when I need 'em," Dolly confirmed. "A funny little thing I was telling the girls who are on this tribute album, a lot of them are very young. I tell them I was already into plastic surgery when they were still sleeping on plastic sheets."

Despite her changing appearance, she told The Guardian, "This is just who I am! It's like what I always say: I may look fake but I'm real where it counts. Ha ha ha!"

The country queen further explained her decision to undergo procedures during a segment on The Howard Stern Show, sharing she used fillers, Botox and Juvéderm.

"I try to do just little bits at a time — I don't do like really big stuff," she said. "Only when I have to do something a little more, and even then, I try to be careful."

Dolly said she was careful about choosing highly qualified doctors for cosmetic procedures and warned against going too far with surgery.

Dolly Parton Underwent B---- Augmentation and Received Implants

Plastic surgery procedures reportedly helped Dolly Parton 'feel [her] best.'MEGA

Dolly also openly discussed b---- implants and augmentation over the years.

While on Nightlinein 2012, she disclosed aging with her implants had been "just fine."

"I haven't had to have that done in years, and my girls are going pretty good," she added.

A 2005 Guardian profile previously reported Dolly had b----- implants beginning at age 22 and her figure prompted her to joke that only her "b---- and hair" were big.

Dolly Parton Revealed She Regretted Some Cosmetic Procedures

Dolly Parton said she only wanted to have 'just little bits' of procedures at a time.MEGA

In a 2023 interview with Saga, Dolly spoke candidly about a few cosmetic procedures she regretted.

"If something is bagging, sagging or dragging, I'll tuck it, suck it or pluck it," she said. "Every now and then you'll get a hematoma, or sometimes with fillers and Botox you can get too much and have to wait till the swelling goes down to look normal again."

"It means that instead of being back at work in two weeks, it's a month," she continued.

Despite those regrets, Dolly often joked about her plastic surgeries while continuing to maintain her appearance.

On Monday, Netflix officially renewed Guy Ritchie’s aristocratic crime drama The Gentlemen, while teasing “Your guess is as good as anyone’s as to what’s coming in the third season”.

It was a seeming acknowledgement of the rampant speculation around a certain piece of stunt-casting: would this serve as The Duchess of Sussex’s big acting comeback? While keeping shtum on that score, the streamer did add, cryptically: “All bets are off.”

It has been a chaotic few days of competing rumours – it’s still not clear if Meghan was ever offered a part on the show, if it was withdrawn following a backlash, or if she’s still involved – illustrating the level of intense scrutiny that she’ll face if she does indeed return to thespian activities after almost a decade.

The interest is there, but could Meghan actually deliver? She wasn’t exactly a budding Meryl Streep before she gave it all up to become a member of the Royal family. She began as a smiling “briefcase beauty” on Deal or No Deal (which she later, on her podcast Archetypes, decried as objectifying), then had a series of bit parts such as a lingerie-wearing maid in CSI: NY, “Hot Girl” sat next to Ashton Kutcher on a plane in A Lot Like Love, and a high schooler pleasuring a classmate in a car on teen soap 90210. Her best-known role was earnest paralegal and love interest Rachel Zane in B-tier legal drama Suits. It was a perfectly competent supporting turn, rather than one hinting at untapped transformational abilities.

Transformation doesn’t necessarily have to be a problem. Indeed Maya Jama, who has been cast in season two of The Gentlemen, has a considerable celebrity profile, notably through her appearances on Love Island. Yet images of Jama in the new trailer suggest that a suspension of disbelief from the audience could be possible. Meghan’s baggage is so heavy, however, that such an imaginative leap could be tricky.

Marcus Flemmings, head agent at Allied Artists, agrees: “If she were to play a single mum in Peckham, I wouldn’t believe her. She needs to play it safe for her first role back. If she goes too much against type, it could fail spectacularly.”

PR expert Mark Borkowski agrees: “I can’t see audiences suspending their disbelief if Meghan plays someone totally different – she’s never going to disappear into a role.”

Meghan is not, of course, the first actor to have become royalty. The most famous, Grace Kelly, married the Prince of Monaco at the age of 26 and gracefully retired. Sophie Winkleman, the wife of Lord Windsor, has managed to maintain a decent career (appearing in Belgravia and Sanditon), but she has always remained defiantly low profile, which Meghan definitely is not.

The case of Cressida Bonas, the ex-girlfriend of the Duke of Sussex, proves that any link to royalty always defines you. Despite several decent roles (including a sizeable role in White House Farm, an ITV drama about the Jeremy Bamber murders), little was made of Bonas’s acting credentials and much of her royal connections.

Flemmings points out that external fame isn’t completely insurmountable. “Jennifer Lopez, who became bigger in her other professions and personal life than her acting career, could still make it work.” But it’s trickier when the star is as divisive as Meghan, he admits: “A lot of people feel very negatively towards her.” Another comparison, thinks Flemmings, is with “cancelled” celebrities such as Johnny Depp, who nevertheless do bring eyeballs to their projects (Depp is making his own controversial comeback this Christmas with the Scrooge-themed movie Ebenezer). “It depends whether you want the attention that Meghan will bring to your movie or show – good and bad. You won’t have control over the publicity. Looking at how Meghan has run her career the past few years, you’d imagine she’ll want to shape her own narrative.”

However, choosing the right project is crucial, says Flemmings. “She can’t do something gritty or hard-hitting: the public see her as a royal.” (There is also the fact that Meghan is something of a joke: note the cheeky casting call from EastEnders on Monday for a new character coincidentally named “Meghan” who is “confident, gorgeous and ready to cause chaos”.) In fact, it sounds like Meghan might already be taking Flemmings’s advice to “play it safe”. She has a small cameo in forthcoming Amazon comedy Close Personal Friends, about a couple getting to know their new celebrity neighbours, in which she plays… herself.

However, Flemmings thinks the Duchess’s best bet is a heartstring-tugging romcom, perhaps holiday-themed – exactly the route that Lindsay Lohan (a real comeback queen) took in 2022 with the cosy Netflix movie Falling for Christmas. Flemmings adds: “Hopefully Meghan’s agent will strongly advise her – and hopefully she’ll listen.”

Meghan has some experience with cosy romcoms, starring in 2014 TV movie When Sparks Fly - AJ Pics / Alamy

Borkowski, has a more impish suggestion, pointing out that there’s already a pertinent, if contentious, example at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe. “Amanda Knox is the major talking point there – why wouldn’t Meghan be too? She’s big box office.”

Indeed, he believes that some industry powerbrokers are interested in taking the risk. “I’ve had a few calls from West End producer mates, asking me ‘Is her brand too toxic, would people buy in?’. I’ve said ‘Of course they would’ – it’s pure curiosity value. There’s a history of actors using the West End to restart a flagging career. I remember when Madonna did [David Williamson’s play Up for Grabs] in 2002, ticket prices went through the roof. Scalpers were selling them for hundreds of pounds.”

Madonna as Loren in David Williamson’s play Up for Grabs - Daniel Smith/PA

But is Meghan prepared to submit humbly to an agent – or indeed a producer or director? Borkowski acknowledges that the perception of her suggests not. “She’s used to being the one in charge, for better or worse. You get to a point in life where you’re addicted to your status.”

Borkowski is dubious about whether she did land a role on The Gentlemen, despite her existing relationship with Netflix, which previously hosted her derided lifestyle show With Love, Meghan. “The whole exercise could be one big publicity stunt,” he says. “By leaking it, you get free market research – you can see how people react and get an idea of what you could do. This sea of speculation is great for Meghan’s brand: it gets everybody talking about her.”

Meghan has an existing relationship with Netflix after her lifestyle show With Love, Meghan - Jake Rosenberg/Netflix

But one thing’s for sure: it doesn’t look like Meghan is prepared to try another well-worn route, namely accepting a camp, self-parodic role that riffs off her outsized public image. Her recent nausea-inducing guest judge appearance on MasterChef Australia, which featured a gushing introduction describing her as “a global icon” and “a humanitarian”, did not, alas, suggest that Meghan has a sense of humour about herself.

That means any comeback attempt might well produce gripping drama – but off the screen, rather than on. “It’ll be like EastEnders meets Game of Thrones,” says Borkowski. “I’m definitely tuning in.”
