- Jesse Eisenberg says he turned down the chance to reprise the role of Mark Zuckerberg in Aaron Sorkin’s* Social Network *follow-up because he believes the Facebook creator is “not a person who cares about people.”

- Eisenberg played the controversial tech exec in the Oscar-winning 2010 biopic, but will be replaced by Jeremy Strong in the upcoming *The Social Reckoning*.

- *The Social Reckoning *premieres in theaters on Oct. 9.

Jesse Eisenberg may have gotten an Oscar nomination for his critically acclaimed performance as Facebook founder–turned–arch tech villain Mark Zuckerberg in 2010’s *The Social Network*, but he’s not looking for a two-peat.

The actor opened up about his decision not to reprise the role of Zuckerberg in the upcoming follow-up film, *The Social Reckoning**,* during a discussion at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival Saturday, where he was the recipient of this year’s President’s Award. Eisenberg explained that he doesn’t want to reprise the role as he no longer wants “to be associated” with Zuckerberg, per *Variety*.

“At the time, the movie seemed like such a strange thing to me because no one really knew who he was,” he said of starring in the upcoming sequel, written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, who wrote the predecessor. “He was interviewed on *60 Minutes*, which is our big news show, but otherwise he wasn’t in the public a lot. I thought of it like an interesting character. And then he’s become famous and now I don’t want to do the movie [...] I don’t want to be associated with him anymore because I don’t really like the comparison.”

Part of Eisenberg’s decision was also his disdain for the way social media has evolved. The *When You Finish Saving the World* director proclaimed that, as an actor, he talks about himself “too much,” and “it’s not healthy.”

“No human being has ever talked about themselves as much as I talk about myself. So I’m not on any [social media],” he told his audience. “All that stuff scares me so much, you know, Facebook and social media, Twitter, whatever, because I already feel humiliated to be in public talking about myself. It’s disgusting. All that stuff terrifies me.”

Naturally, that feeling was compounded with the concept of reprising his role as Zuckerberg, who has been the subject of multiple lawsuits regarding the creation and ownership of one of the most-visited social media platforms in the world, as well as issues such as user privacy.

“Being in the movie about it, too, made it even more scary because I see that the person who created this website is not a person who cares about people,” Eisenberg added. “I’m like: well, if this guy is the creator of this world, I don’t want to live in that world.”

In the absence of Eisbenberg, Jeremy Strong has stepped up to portray the Facebook founder and CEO.

Sorkin previously told *Vanity Fair** *that he bumped into both Eisenberg and Strong at the 2025 *Vanity Fair* Oscar Party when* The Social Reckoning *script was complete. He told Eisenberg he wanted him to read the draft. Moments later, Sorkin encountered Strong and mentioned the script. Strong told him that if Eisenberg wasn’t interested in reprising the role, he would be keen in taking over.

*The Social Reckoning* is described as “a companion piece” to *The Social Network,* “based on the events that gave rise to the *Wall Street Journal*’s shocking exposĂ© The Facebook Files,” published in 2021.

“The film is inspired by the true story of how Frances Haugen (Mikey Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (Jeremy Allen White), a *Wall Street Journal* reporter, to go on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets,” the official synopsis reads.

Also starring in the film are Wunmi Mosaku, Betty Gilpin, Billy Magnussen, and Bill Burr.

David Fincher, who directed *The Social Network*, didn’t direct the upcoming sequel because he was busy working on the *Once Upon a Time in Hollywood* spinoff — *The Adventures of Cliff Booth*. Sorkin, the screenwriter who won his first Oscar for his work on 2010’s* **The Social Network**, *said Fincher has been supportive of him taking over to helm the sequel, and he was the first person to read *Reckoning*’s script.

“He was just very enthusiastic and eager to help any way he could,” Sorkin said.

Strong had high praise for Sorkin’s screenplay, calling it “one of the great scripts I’ve ever read,” but distanced himself from Eisenberg’s portrayal, saying it “has nothing to do with what I’m going to do.”

*The Social Reckoning *opens in theaters on Oct. 9.

Charlie Sheen is agreeing to give former wife Brooke Mueller a six-figure sum in back child support.

A Los Angeles judge signed off on a settlement agreement between the exes July 7, requiring the "Two and a Half Men" alum, 60, to pay a total of $500,000 to the actress, 48, according to documents obtained by USA TODAY. Half of the money must be paid by Friday, July 10, and the rest is due Sept. 1.

The filing states that the agreement came after Sheen "considered the risk of litigation and costs thereof and has decided that it is preferable to settle these issues rather than to be subjected to the uncertainties associated with the litigation process."

This marks the resolve of their dispute over child support debt and interest dating back to March 1, 2011, until July 1 of this year. The agreement says Sheen and Mueller, who share twin 17-year-old sons Bob and Max Sheen, are each responsible for the financial support of the kids while in their custody moving forward.

Sheen was also ordered to pay $60,000 in Mueller's attorneys' fees by Oct. 15.

In December, Mueller filed a motion claiming Sheen was owed nearly $9 million in unpaid support, plus more than $6 million in accrued interest and $25,000 in legal fees, per documents obtained by USA TODAY at the time.

She further stated Sheen was ordered to pay $55,000 per month in April 2010, but he failed to complete those payments either partially or entirely beginning in July 2011.

Sheen and Mueller were married from 2008 to 2011 and had a tumultuous relationship at times, including custody battles, both entering rehab and an incident in 2009 during which the Golden Globe winner allegedly pulled a knife on Mueller.

In recent years, the pair have voiced their support for one another. In 2019, Sheen addressed Mueller's decision to enter a trauma center in a video published by TMZ, stating, "I think she's right where she needs to be."

"I hope she gets the help she needs," he added. "We're here when she reaches out. She knows where to find us."

- Bonnie Tyler, Welsh singer known for the hit ‘80s songs “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “Holding Out for a Hero,” has died at 75.

- The news comes two months after the three-time Grammy nominee underwent emergency intestinal surgery and was placed into an induced coma.

- “Bonnie’s family and team are heartbroken to announce that Bonnie unexpectedly passed away last night in hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for,” a statement reads.

Bonnie Tyler, the raspy-voiced Welsh singer known for the hit ‘80s songs “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “Holding Out for a Hero,” has died at 75.

“Bonnie’s family and team are heartbroken to announce that Bonnie unexpectedly passed away last night in hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for,” a statement on Tyler’s website states. “We will issue a further statement shortly but for now ask for privacy to deal with this tragedy.”

The news comes two months after the three-time Grammy nominee underwent emergency intestinal surgery in Faro, Portugal, in May. The singer’s manager previously announced that Tyler was “recuperating,” however, the next day, it was announced that the Welsh musician had been put placed in an “induced coma.”

“Bonnie has been put into an induced coma by her Doctors to aid her recovery. We know that you all wish her well and ask for privacy at this difficult time please,” Tyler’s manager told *Page Six* at the time. “We will issue a further statement when we are able to.”

Last month, her team noted that Tyler remained “very unwell and in intensive care in hospital in Portugal,” but her condition was “improving.” They were hopeful her tour would resume in the fall. “As such we are sorry to tell everyone that we will be cancelling, or postponing until next year where possible, all of our remaining shows this summer,” a statement read. “This will affect every current show until the end of August. At present we are still hopeful that our shows in the autumn will go ahead.”

Born Gaynor Sullivan on June 8, 1951, in Skewen, Neath, Wales, Tyler’s storied musical career began when she won second place at a local talent competition in 1969. Inspired by the contest, Tyler went on to play local pubs and clubs in South Wales, first with Bobby Wayne & The Dixies, and later with soul group Imagination. She officially broke onto the pop scene in 1976, when she released her first single, “My! My! Honeycomb.”

It wasn’t until she released “Total Eclipse of the Heart” in 1983 that Tyler found mainstream success; the single turned her into a household name thanks to her gravelly yet powerful vocals — which were enhanced thanks to a surgery to remove nodules on her vocal chords that the singer underwent in the spring of 1977.

The power ballad became Tyler’s first and only number one single. Her subsequent album, *Faster Than The Speed of Night*, produced by Meat Loaf producer Jim Steinman, was the first album by a female artist to debut at number one in Britain, and heralded a new rock style for her.

“Total Eclipse of the Heart,” released in the U.K. on Feb. 11, 1983, became one of the best-selling singles of all time, with more than six million units sold. *Faster Than the Speed of Night* debuted at No. 1 on the U.K. Albums Chart, and reached No. 3 on the U.S. Cashbox chart and No. 4 on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling more than one million copies in the United States. Tyler’s subsequent commercial success led to several award nominations, including two Grammys, two AMAs, and a BRIT Award.

Throughout her career, Tyler released 18 studio albums. She received a Goldene Europa in 1983 and was named Best Recording Artist at the Variety Club of Great Britain Awards the following year.

Tyler published an autobiography, *Straight From the Heart*, in 2023. That same year, the musician was granted an MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for her services to music. “I never ever thought I would have something like this, my mother and father would be so proud,” she told the U.K.’s PA news agency at the time (per *The Independent*).

At the time, Tyler also spoke about the enduring popularity of her signature song when its Spotify streams spiked in conjunction with a total solar eclipse.

“Every time the eclipse comes,” she said, “everyone all over the world, they play ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ and I never get tired of singing it.”

Her most recent album, *The Best Is Yet to Come*, was released in 2021. Tyler also released two singles in 2026, “Only Love” on March 21 and “One World One Home” on April 24. She was due to perform in Malta on May 22 and in Germany on May 30, and was scheduled for several festival performances and solo shows in Europe over the summer and fall. Her last live performance before her death was at a London concert in March.

Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry’s romance has reportedly shifted amid concerns over her “image.” Dating rumors between the former Canadian Prime Minister and the pop star began in July 2025. The pairing immediately drew attention, given Trudeau’s political profile and Perry’s global music career.

Justin Trudeau reportedly wants Katy Perry to change

Katy Perry’s pop star lifestyle is reportedly wearing on Justin Trudeau. According to RadarOnline, the ex-Canadian Prime Minister is familiar with high-profile life, but a source has revealed that he is surprised by the constant presence of her entourage and glam team.

“Even Katy would admit she’s a little addicted to being catered to, and being inside a bubble of people she trusts,” they said. “But part of getting together with Justin was the hope that she could pull off a reinvention of her image, and that hasn’t happened yet.” The source added, “Justin, 54, lives a humble life so much of the time. He’s not afraid to hop on an economy flight if it will get him where he needs to go.”

Still, nearly a year into dating, the insider noted that the politician’s grounded nature hasn’t seemed to influence Perry. The source explained that dating Trudeau gives her access to communities and experiences she hasn’t had before. To do that, the “Firework” hitmaker would need to let go of her constant entourage and full-time staff.

Perry and Trudeau were first spotted sharing dinner in Montreal. Soon after that sighting, their outings together suggested things had turned romantic. By late October 2025, they were appearing publicly as a pair, and in June 2026, they made their official red-carpet debut as a couple.

Prior to dating Trudeau, the singer was engaged to actor Orlando Bloom for six years. They co-parent their daughter, Daisy Dove, after splitting in June 2025. Meanwhile, Trudeau was married to Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, a Canadian public speaker and former TV host, for 18 years. They wed in 2005 and announced their separation in August 2023. They have three children together.

Prince Harry‘s Invictus Games are chugging along to the 2027 event in Birmingham.

As the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games gets underway this week, with Prince Harry returning to the U.K. for a series of related engagements, a specially branded train was unveiled on Thursday, July 9.

The London Northwestern Railway previously announced a collaboration with the Invictus Games Foundation for the train in support of next year’s Invictus Games in Birmingham. Spectators hailing from around the world are expected to attend the Invictus Games Birmingham, hosted at the city’s National Exhibition Centre and Sandwell Aquatics Centre next summer.

Last month, the public was invited to help name the train, with a vote between The Spirit of Invictus, the William Ernest Henley (after the author of the “Invictus” poem), Unconquered and Master of My Fate.

J.J. Chalmers, broadcaster and Invictus Games veteran, unveiled the winner, The Spirit of Invictus, on the platform at London’s Euston station before its inaugural journey. The train will move around the U.K.’s railway network over the coming year.

The former Royal Marine was among the first British team in 2014, winning gold in cycling. “I’ve done the games since the start and today is the closest to that 2014 feeling that I’ve had,” he tells PEOPLE. “Our home games is like nothing else. You just feel such pride and ownership for the thing.”

“This is the next level up because this is my community coming to a city that means so much to me.”

Prince HarryCredit: Chris Jackson/Getty Images

He was initially treated in Birmingham for his injuries incurred when an IED exploded in Afghanistan in 2011. “When I was blown up, I closed my eyes, dying on the floor in Afghanistan. And when I opened them a week later, 2,500 miles away in Birmingham, I went, “ What is this place?” It took me a long time to really appreciate exactly what that place was – the most remarkable hospital, with the most remarkable staff, who were on the absolute cutting edge of keeping people who should die alive. And giving them a life beyond it.”

He adds, “The idea is that this train will roll around the country, enabling people to see this unbelievable brand. But that means nothing without what’s actually inside it. And what it actually is is a cohort of unbelievable people who served, sacrificed — and they are the brand. This is a 200 [yard] long physical manifestation of that.”

Prince Harry, who served in the British Army, created the Invictus Games after being inspired by the U.S.’s Warrior Games, another adaptive sporting competition for service personnel and veterans. The first Invictus Games were held in London in 2014, and the Birmingham event will mark its return to the U.K.

The Invictus Games have also been held in Orlando (2016), Toronto (2017), Sydney (2018), The Hague (slated for 2020 but delayed until 2022 amid the coronavirus pandemic), DĂĽsseldorf (2023) and Vancouver-Whistler (2025).

Harry, 41, is in the U.K. this week for a series of events tied to the Invictus Games’ one-year-to-go countdown.

The duke recently told TIME that creating the Invictus Games combined his desire to give back to veterans with his longtime love of sports.

“Sport held me together,” Harry, who grew up playing rugby, soccer, cricket and polo, said. “I was one of those kids at school who did not enjoy classroom work. If it wasn’t for the sports field and the amount of sports that were on offer, there’s no way I would have stayed in school.”

After attending the 2013 Warrior Games, Prince Harry felt that veterans outside the U.S. needed a similar outlet.

“I thought, ‘Wow, look at the power of sport, look at how it is literally changing lives in front of my very eyes,’ “ the father of two — who was highlighted in TIME‘s 100 Most Influential People in Sports 2026 list — said.

“It was so clear to me. Let’s invite as many countries as possible to make it international, because clearly more countries need to benefit from this.”

Harry arrived in his home country on July 6 after spending time on vacation in Europe with his wife, Meghan Markle, 44, and their two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5. He made a surprise appearance that day at the premiere of friend Misan Harriman’s documentary.

He then attended the 14th Invictus Games Foundation Conversation: From Policy to Practice at Chatham House in London on July 7.

That same day, the ruling came out that Harry and six other high-profile claimants lost their legal case against Associated Newspapers Limited, after accusing the publisher of illegal information gathering for their stories.

On Wednesday, July 8, Harry attended private meetings related to the Invictus Games Foundation at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, a facility for British Army veterans. Harry avoided reporters as he headed into the engagement, quietly using an alternative entrance.

Although Meghan was initially expected to join her husband at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, it was revealed over the weekend that the Duchess of Sussex and their children would not join Harry in London due to security concerns. The family could return to the U.K. for parts of the trip outside the capital city, but a decision had not been made.

Taylor Swift married Travis Kelce on July 3.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce pulled off one of the most secretive celebrity weddings in recent memory, but that hasn't stopped new details from spilling into the spotlight.

From former NFL stars questioning why they didn't make the guest list to reports of late-night pizza deliveries, Chanel handbag giveaways and sellers trying to cash in on alleged wedding trash, the couple's celebration has continued to make headlines long after the last dance.

Swift and Kelce married on July 3 in front of 1,000 guests at Madison Square Garden, a representative for the pop star told Fox News Digital. The two opted not to have a traditional wedding party, instead choosing to have Swift's brother as her "Man of Honor" and Kelce's brother as his "Best Man."

Even with a star-studded guest list, the newlyweds couldn't invite everyone.

After Kelce and Swift's highly anticipated wedding, two former NFL players called out the Kansas City Chiefs tight end for leaving them off the exclusive guest list.

Will Compton and Taylor Lewan believe they should have been invited to the wedding. Compton claimed he was "kinda flabbergasted" the two weren't invited during an appearance on "Wake Up Barstool."

"Is this a personal shot that Will and I are taking?" Lewan later questioned during their show, "Bussin' With The Boys."

"Yo, we’re boys; I’ve known you for over 10 years," he added. "We text and call each other. I’m gonna take the high road, but I’m just thinking, dude, I’m clearly doing something wrong in our friendship, clearly something wrong. … There’s clearly a blind spot I’m not seeing."

While many were dying to witness Swift and Kelce's love story, some A-listers declined their invitation.

"I don't go to weddings or funerals," Charles Barkley said during an appearance on "Unfiltered with Ricky Bo & Bill Colarulo." "But I did get an invite, and I politely declined because I thought it was going to be a crap show."

"I love Travis and Jason, and I’ve only met Taylor one time, but yeah, I did get an invite," he explained. "But I said, that’s just too much. I just want to hang out and play golf, and I don’t want to dress up and all that other stuff. But I appreciate the invitation. It was pretty special."

Charles Barkley declined Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding invitation.

James Taylor, the inspiration behind the pop star's name, revealed he turned down an invite to a wedding at Madison Square Garden while performing his annual show at Tanglewood's Koussevitzky Music Shed on July 3, according to The Berkshire Eagle.

"I do want to wish the couple all happiness and smooth sailing and strength when it can't be smooth," he said, according to a video shared on social media.

TV host Ryan Seacrest's work also got in the way. The "American Idol" host revealed he reluctantly skipped the couple's wedding after a scheduling conflict left him with "no choice" during his radio show on Monday.

Ryan Seacrest revealed he had to cancel on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding after rsvp'ing yes.

Seacrest said he even mapped out the logistics before throwing in the towel.

"I couldn't have done both," he said. "And the actual wedding was in the afternoon. I went through the minutes."

Ryan Seacrest Reveals Why He Backed Out Of Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce's Wedding At The Last Minute

An information sign is displayed at one of the entries to Madison Square Garden as seen from outside, ahead of the wedding between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

Swift and Kelce prioritized privacy throughout the celebration, taking steps to keep the ceremony and reception out of the public eye.

People reported guests were asked to place their phones in individual locked glass boxes upon arrival, with each person receiving a key to access their devices later.

The couple also shielded the event from outside view by covering Madison Square Garden's windows with drapes.

Workers operate inside Madison Square Garden, ahead of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding, in New York City, U.S.

Guests remained inside their vehicles as they drove into an enclosed arrival tent, where they exited their cars before being privately escorted into the venue.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce hosted a 100-guest rehearsal dinner at Madison Square Garden on July 2.

Swift and Kelce's wedding may have been a tightly guarded affair, but that hasn't stopped enterprising sellers from trying to cash in.

The website New York City Garbage is selling items it claims were collected outside Madison Square Garden following the couple's July 3 wedding celebration, according to Tmz. Among the listings are $25 pieces of fabric, soda can tabs and even a single AirPod — all described as trash found on nearby New York City streets around the time of the event.

The unusual memorabilia doesn't stop there.

One seller has also listed a bag of air allegedly collected inside Madison Square Garden during the wedding for a staggering $49,999.99. While the eye-popping price tag may seem far-fetched, TMZ reported the listing had already drawn more than 200 views.

Hugh Grant and his wife, Anna Elisabet Eberstein, depart Madison Square Garden after Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding celebration.

Swift's representative revealed to Fox News Digital that the couple's wedding ceremony looks were designed by Jonathan Anderson of Christian Dior Haute Couture. The happy couple both wore white, and the "Life of a Showgirl" singer accessorized with Cartier.

"It was a joy to work with her. We became very good friends," Anderson told Wwd. "It’s an emotional thing doing someone’s wedding."

Swift's bridal look was the first couture wedding dress designed by Anderson for an A-list celebrity.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift announced their engagement in August 2025.

Throughout the reception, guests played games to win raffle tickets, two guests told NBC News. They could use the raffle tickets they won to try to win different prizes, including designer handbags and a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, similar to the car the two rode in on their first public date in 2023.

Kansas City Chiefs player Drue Tranquill's wife, Jackie, shared a photo of a black Chanel bag with a winning raffle ticket on her Instagram. The pink raffle ticket featured the T&T logo and read "winner."

Pop star Avril Lavigne also snagged a Chanel bag, according to Page Six Hollywood.

Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper leave Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding.

Even details from inside the tightly guarded celebration proved difficult to pin down.

Daily Mail reported the champagne ran dry "really early."

However, celebrity gossip group Deuxmoi disputed that report.

"We’re told there was no champagne shortage and that cases were reportedly left over at the end of the night," a post on Instagram read.

*Superman* director and co-head of DC Studios James Gunn previously teased plans for Grodd to EW around the film’s release last year. When asked if the Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) smart monkeys from that story were related to Grodd’s origin, the filmmaker said, “No, no, no. Because I know exactly what that is. I love Gorilla Grodd, so got other plans for that guy. He’s not a monkey, he’s an ape!”

In the comics, Grodd is most closely associated with speedster hero the Flash, and previously served as a prominent antagonist on the CW’s *The Flash* series.
