Amal opted for a stylish monochromatic moment with a cozy olive green silk shorts set. Her simple scoop-neck tank top was tucked into her airy micro shorts, and she topped it off with a matching shimmering green single-breasted blazer. She wore her long dark hair in a soft side part with her signature mermaid waves and completed the summery look with oversized sunglasses.

As for George, he also looked ready for a warm European getaway in a navy polo shirt, white pants, and aviator shades.

Amal and George’s trip to Venice is just a short hop over from their Lake Como estate. Just last week, the couple were spotted entertaining guests with a dinner party at the lakeside home. Once again, the couple rocked coordinated looks for the occasion, with Amal slipping into a long white dress and George matching her in a white ensemble of his own.

A few weeks earlier, the pair were spotted again in Lake Como, this time with their twins. Amal wore a stylish LBD as the family attended a dinner honoring the Clooney Foundation for Justice at the Passalacqua hotel.

Back in July, the duo looked chic for yet another Italian outing. Stepping off their yacht in Capri, Italy, Amal rocked a suede halter top with fringe trim along with a matching skirt, wedges, a small cutout tote, and oversized orange sunglasses.

Donald Trump is facing a major backlash after inviting Russia’s finance minister to the G20 summit following three years of exile due to Moscow’s war on Ukraine.

Senior European officials refused to take part in a “family photo” with Anton Siluanov on Monday amid widespread protest over his presence at the summit in Asheville, North Carolina.

Siluanov and other Russian central bank leaders were invited to the summit of G20 finance ministers by the Trump administration. The US president defended the decision by saying he gets “along with everybody”.

European officials have been left unimpressed. “I find the signal sent by receiving the Russian finance minister here quite troubling,” said German finance minister Lars Klingbeil.

“I would have wanted greater clarity from the American side that he should not be received here as a normal guest.”

Polish finance minister Andrzej Domanski said he was unhappy to see Russia represented, although he recognised the right of G20 hosts to invite guests.

“We do not trust Russia. They lie constantly, and you need to be really, really cautious while discussing with them,” he told Reuters. “So for me it would be very difficult to have any kind of conversation with Russia.”

The last time Siluanov joined a G20 summit by video link was in April 2022, two months after Russia launched its invasion. Several officials from the UK, US, Canada and the European Central Bank walked out of the conference room in protest.

The two-day meeting came as the global economy suffers an energy shock triggered by the Iran war, faces rising tensions over China’s huge goods trade surplus, and braces for how an investment surge in AI will ultimately play out.

Discussing the invitation for Russia, Trump said on Monday: “We’re going to see what happens, but we like getting along with everybody. It’s one of the reasons that I’m so successful, I get along with everybody.”

Siluanov met with US Treasury secretary Scott Bessent. A spokesperson for the US Treasury said he had held a “productive meeting with the Russian finance minister, and reinforced the president’s push for world peace”, according to the Financial Times.

A source told Reuters that Bessent had told Siluanov that no economic relief would be given to Russia until the war ended.

Erin Browne, an undersecretary for international affairs at the Treasury, told The Washington Postthat it is “important to have dialogue even during times of conflict”.

When asked about the objections from European officials, she added: “We’ve had constructive dialogue around the table in the plenary session.”

The MTV VMAs have been highlighting the boldest and brightest artists in music for more than 40 years. And, unsurprisingly for an event that celebrates how powerful the visuals in a music video can be, these stars are all about making an aesthetic impact on the red carpet.

Madonna was at the first MTV Video Music Awards show back in 1984 wearing an indelible lace look, and she’ll return in 2026 as the most-nominated artist of the year. She’s been followed by megastars-in-the-making including Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber, all of whom were once fresh-faced newbies making their VMAs debut. See photos from stars’ first ever VMAs — including those nominated for multiple awards in 2026, such as Shakira, Sabrina Carpenter and Bruno Mars — below.

The “wedding dress” she wore to the very first VMAs in 1984 set off a cultural firestorm, and more than 40 years later, the Queen of Pop is still dominating the stage — racking up 11 nominations for the 2026 ceremony.

It’s hard to believe Sabrina didn’t hit the VMAs scene until 2018; she seems like she’s been commanding the stage like a pro for ages.

Lady A singer Charles Kelley shared a before-and-after look at how far he’s come in his sobriety journey.

Kelley, 44, shared a selfie with his wife, Cassie McConnell, followed by an older photo from when he was in active addiction on Instagram on Monday, Aug. 31. In the first photo, the couple smiled while wearing sunglasses and spending time on the water.

“My best filter is just…not drinking,” the musician began the caption. “Swipe to see my before 😬 my wife asked me if I ever look at a photo of myself before I was sober and think ‘who is that guy?’ This is the one 😃.”

“I could go on about the many blessings that have come from putting it down way more than looking healthier, but it’s a nice reminder of a place I don’t wanna go back to,” the “Driving and Listening to Music” singer concluded his caption.

Several other country stars shared messages of support for Kelley’s sobriety in the comments.

“A lil jaunt down memory lane is always a good reminder,” Ruston Kelly wrote.

“Thank you for sharing this,” Shane McAnally wrote, while Russell Dickerson commented with a muscle emoji to show support.

In 2025, Kelley told PEOPLE exclusively that his wife was his primary motivation for pursuing sobriety. Lady A postponed its Request Line Tour in 2022 when Kelley entered a rehabilitation facility in Utah for alcohol addiction treatment.

“She’s the reason that I got sober,” he said of McConnell, whom he wed in 2009. “She had so much grace for me and went along through the journey with me doing all the work, and I could go so far as to say there’s no way she would’ve stayed with me if I had not gotten sober.”

Kelley channeled his newfound sobriety into his 2025 solo record Songs for a New Moon, which combines Kelley’s country sensibilities with 1980s-inspired synths on a collection of songs in which the singer finds his way back to himself.

“I think music is such a cathartic outlet and basically, the music made me feel good,” Kelley told PEOPLE in 2025. “I think over the last three years during this sobriety journey, I’ve just felt this little awakening, and I just wanted to make a happy record that spoke a little bit of this journey and this second chance at life that I feel like I’ve been given.”

Gen Z has been itching for their version of a “hangout sitcom” – a snapshot of what navigating adulthood looks like in today’s day and age.

Recently, Max Greenfield fueled speculation that a reboot of Millennials’ favorite one, “New Girl,” was in the works. The beloved series followed quirky teacher Jessica Day (Zooey Deschanel) as she moved in with three men, Schmidt (Greenfield), Nick Miller (Jake Johnson) and Winston Bishop (Lamorne Morris).

“As far as I know, it’s happening,” Greenfield, 46, said on a July 31 episode of “Today," adding that he had “seen scripts” written by show creator Liz Meriwether.

But in a new interview with USA TODAY, Deschanel shuts those rumors down, saying it’s "not a show," but rather a charity reunion event on Oct. 10.

“Everyone was having fun teasing it out,” Deschanel, 46, explains, noting the rumors were "made bigger" than reality.

The cast, including Deschanel, Greenfield, Johnson, Morris, as well as Hannah Simone and Damon Wayans Jr., will all be in attendance at the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball to receive the Rising Phoenix Award.

For Deschanel, it’s not too much of a reunion. She says she texts the cast regularly, and just hung out with Johnson last week. Still though, it will be a treat to “see everybody all at once,” she adds.

Nostalgic films are having a moment. Will 'How to Lose a Guy' sequel be the next 'Devil Wears Prada 2'?

Merriweather has also tried to shoot down speculation, telling Variety on Aug. 29, “There are no scripts.”

But online, fans are still holding out hope.

“This better be a Winston prank,” one fan commented. “Classic Winston-Cece mess around,” another replied.

"New Girl" premiered on Fox in September 2011. It ran for seven seasons before concluding in May 2018, earning five Golden Globe nominations and five Emmy nominations throughout its run.

Ina Garten has written bestselling cookbooks, become a Food Network favorite, and shared a loving marriage with Jeffrey Garten for decades. But despite her many public accomplishments, curiosity has long lingered around one private decision: her choice not to have children.

Motherhood was never part of that picture, and the beloved celebrity chef does not wish it had been. Garten, 78, whose career spans cookbook publishing, television hosting, and culinary entrepreneurship, recently reflected on her decision not to have children, saying she never felt drawn to parenthood and has no regrets about the life she chose.

What Did Ina Garten Say About Not Having Children?

“I think it would have been much harder,” Garten told The New York Times. “I’ve never looked back on the decision and thought, I should have done it differently. I understand how my friends have wonderful families, and they really enjoy being parents, but it’s just not something I ever wanted to do.”

Her answer left little room for regret. “I’m really happy that I didn’t,” she said.

When Did Ina Garten Make the Decision?

Garten discussed the subject during a 2017 conversation with former Today co-host Katie Couric, saying the choice came early. “We decided not to have children,” Garten said. “I really appreciate that other people do, and we will always have friends that have children that we are close to, but it was a choice I made very early.”

Be Ready When the Luck Happens author added, “I really felt, I feel, that I would have never been able to have the life I’ve had [with children].”

Garten offered more insight into that choice during an interview with Hoda Kotb on Today in October 2024. She explained that her difficult childhood shaped the way she once viewed family life.

“When I got married, I just thought I would be the wife and we would have children and we would have a traditional relationship,” Garten said.

“In my 20s, I kind of resisted having children. I was like, why would I want to re-create that nightmare that I just came from? And I thought that’s what life at home with children would be. (It) never occurred to me that other people’s lives were different because that was my experience.”

How Did Ina Garten Build Her Career?

At 30, Garten left her government job after spotting a classified advertisement for a specialty food store in Westhampton Beach, New York, according to Business Insider. She bought the business, called Barefoot Contessa, despite having no professional food-industry experience.

Garten made the store’s name synonymous with her relaxed approach to cooking and entertaining. She sold the business in 1996 and turned her attention to cookbooks and television, as per Today.

What Is Ina Garten Known for Today?

The Barefoot Contessa name followed Garten into her next chapter. She published more than a dozen cookbooks and became a Food Network favorite through Barefoot Contessa and Be My Guest With Ina Garten.

Her husband, Jeffrey Garten, has remained a familiar presence throughout her public life. The couple married in 1968.
