David Faustino says he remains in touch with his Christina Applegate amid her multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis.
In a new interview with Extra, the 51-year-old actor said of Applegate: "We talk often. She's helped me with a lot of things in my life, and I'm hoping I'm being there for her."
"She's getting through it with humor," he added. "She's very sarcastic, very dry, always has been and continues to be, and she still makes me laugh." — sign up for PEOPLE's free daily newsletter to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.
Faustino and Applegate, now 54, both starred on the Fox sitcom Married with Children as siblings Kelly and Bud Bundy for 11 seasons after it debuted in 1987.
The two are slated to appear at a live reunion event for the show on Jan. 28 at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. They will be joined by Ed O'Neill (who played their dad, Al Bundy) and Katey Sagal (who played their mom, Peggy Bundy).

Applegate was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021 and has since been treated with infusions. The progressive disease damages the protective cover around nerves called myelin in your central nervous system, according to the Cleveland Clinic. It can cause muscle weakness, vision changes, numbness and memory issues.
The Dead to Me alum opened up about her life since her diagnosis in a May 5, 2025 appearance on Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend.

"If people saw what my life was like on the daily, they wouldn't they wouldn't be able to do it. Because I can sometimes not do it. It's really, really hard," Applegate said at the time.
"I don't really leave the house anymore," the actress told O'Brien.
Applegate has been candid in describing details of the brutal symptoms on her podcast and in interviews, sharing that she will "lay in bed screaming" from the pain and that "unimaginable" pain from vomiting and diarrhea has led to her being hospitalized 30 times.
"This is the worst thing I've ever had in my life," she told O'Brien. "It's the worst thing I've ever gone through."
