Pack your bags and book that first-class flight: The cast of The White Lotus Season 4 has just been revealed. As the official Instagram account for the HBO series announced Thursday, Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, and AJ Michalka are joining the cast of the new season, which follows individuals on one-week stays at the fictional luxury resort chain.
Bonham Carter, who is known for her work in films like the Harry Potter franchise as well as in Sweeney Todd, Alice in Wonderland and The King's Speech, is new to the cast list, as is Messina, who previously starred in the TV series The Mindy Project, Sharp Objects and Based on a True Story.
Michalka, an actress from The Goldbergs and a member of the band Aly & AJ with her sister Alyson Michalka, was initially announced alongside Vikings and The Hunger Games alum Ludwig back in December 2025. At the time, Michalka posted a Deadline article of the news on Instagram, writing in the caption, "Checking in! Let's party Mike." Ludwig also shared the career update, writing in his own post, "Beyond honored. Huge thank you to Mike for your trust in me and can't wait to bring this unbelievable material to life."
Coogan, known for his work as the parody British presenter Alan Partridge as well as for films like Tropic Thunder and Philomena, was announced as a member of the cast in January, as was Edwards, who is a relative newcomer to Hollywood.

So far, the show has revealed little about its upcoming plot — only that it will take place in France. Variety reported in January that the new season will film at least part of the upcoming season at the Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez, which is part of a collection of five-star luxury hotels.
Previous seasons of the show took place at beachside resorts in Hawaii, Sicily and Thailand. The creator of The White Lotus, Mike White, said in an interview aired on HBO after the third season's finale, "For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of the 'crashing waves against rocks' vernacular." Now, however, it appears the show will once again be returning to a coastal town — and, likely as not, to the mystery structure it established in the first season, with a flash forward revealing that someone at the hotel is dead. "There's always room for more murders at The White Lotus hotels," White teased in the same interview.
Since its first season debuted in 2021, The White Lotus has become an Emmys darling, with 66 nominations across the board and wins for stars like Jennifer Coolidge and Murray Bartlett. This year, it dominated the acting categories at the Emmys, with eight of its Season 3 actors nominated, including Carrie Coon and Parker Posey. It did not take home any Emmys for the third season, save for a Creative Arts Emmy for its main title theme music.
It's unclear how, exactly, previous seasons of the series will tie into the fourth season, but it certainly ended on a dramatic note, with multiple people dead at the luxurious Thai resort. Whether the new cast will have to deal with as much violence while trying to get some R&R remains to be seen.
