Joe Biden is said to have once made a "beeline" for Catherine O'Hara when the two were present at the same function, passing over his fellow politicians in his rush to meet the legendary actress.
Seamus O'Regan Jr., a former TV journalist and politician from Canada, shared the touching story following the Beetlejuice star's shocking death at the age of 71, posting a photo with her from an unconfirmed event that Parade suspects took place at the Ottawa Aviation Museum on March 24, 2023, where then-Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau hosted a gala to honor the rebuilding of the relationship between the United States and Canada, according to Politico, after the previous—and now current—administration "set fire to the cross-border partnership."
While, naturally, many politicians were in attendance, so were other big names from both countries, including O'Hara and herSchitt's Creek co-star Eugene Levy.

The photograph, which found O'Hara seated at a table with O'Regan Jr. and another gentleman with a Canadian emblem pinned to his lapel, was taken after the former president had already come and gone, but O'Regan Jr. still clearly remembers the touching moment.
President Biden Made His Love for 'Schitt's Creek' Known With One Simple Word
"Minutes before someone took this, President Biden beelined to our table," he described, noting how Biden rushed right by "Ministers of This and Secretaries of That" to reach the legendary actress.
He came to stand before her and simply gushed, "Moira!" in reference to her iconic Schitt's Creek role, which, according to O'Regan Jr., left the actress completely tickled.
"We laughed 'til we cried," he recalled. "She loved every minute of it all."

The 'Home Alone' Star's Death Elicited Heartbreaking Responses
O'Hara's death rattled the world. She was transported to the emergency room early in the morning on Friday, Jan. 30, and later died in the hospital after an unspecified "brief illness," with no more information provided at this time.
Countless members of the Hollywood community have spoken out in mourning, from longtime to collaborators to folks who only worked with her for a day or two, all of whom agree that she was a "genius" on and off the screen, and one of the kindest people they ever came across. Her death, Pedro Pascal said, left "less light in my world."
