Elliot Page shared photo and video of himself with seriously ripped abs.

The actor says he's become 'hooked' on boxing with the help of a coach.

Page will appear on movie screens as part of next month's The Odyssey, directed by Christopher Nolan.

Elliot Page is ripped and has the snapshots to prove it.

"I've been incredibly fortunate to train with @coachnol," he captioned photo and video that showed him with at least a six-pack on social media. "He's a brilliant teacher, not just in the way he breaks down complex movements, but also in his strategic understanding of boxing and his thoughtful approach to the psychological side of the sport."

Page explained continued, "Training with Nolan has become an essential part of my life. If you’re in NYC and looking, I can't recommend him highly enough. Just be warned, you may end up getting as hooked as I am."

Page has made a regular thing of jumping in the ring to spar.

Fans cheered on the development, writing comments like "Holy f---ing abdominals elliot," "Elliot is so incredibly shredded oml," "Dude, you’re ripped af. What the fuhhhh?! Incredible," and "You could do laundry on them abs."

"THATS MY ACHILLES," one supporter commented, a reference to Page's casting in Christopher Nolan's highly anticipated film The Odyssey, which arrives in theaters July 17.

While it had been suggested that Page would portray Achilles, his actual role remains unclear.

But that hasn't stopped haters from criticizing the film's cast. These critics lamented not only Page's participation, but the choice of Lupita Nyong'o as Helen of Troy.

Last month, businessman Elon Musk, who had long protested the Oscar winner's casting, claimed that Nolan, who has two Oscars for his film Oppenheimer, put Nyong'o in his movie because he "wants the awards."

The ally of President Donald Trump also specifically called hiring Page for the film "one of the dumbest and twisted things I've ever heard."

For her part, Nyong'o said simply in an interview with Elle last month, "This is a mythological story."

Page has said that he appreciated being reunited with Nolan, who directed the actor in 2010 psychological thriller Inception.

"I was just completely jazzed and excited," Page said in October during an X-Men panel at New York Comic Con. "I basically went and met with Chris and talked about the part, then sat in a room and read the script. It was such a joy to come back."

The cast also includes Matt Damon, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Jon Bernthal, Robert Pattinson, Benny Safdie, and Travis Scott.

The Odyssey arrives in theaters July 17.

BOSTON (AP) — Boston Red Sox first baseman Willson Contreras knows the people back home in his native Venezuela are hurting as they try to deal with the fallout from a pair of massive earthquakes that left hundreds dead.

The pull to return home to help is real. That isn't an option for Contreras at the moment, so on Monday night against Washington, he did what he could to show that what's happening back home isn't far from his mind.

Contreras unleashed a massive bat flip after ripping a 421-foot homer in what became a 6-3 Boston victory. He then broke down in tears in the dugout, the anguish that's been a constant since portions of his homeland were turned into rubble last week pouring out of him.

“Everything that’s going on in Venezuela, it’s not easy to hide,” Contreras told reporters after the game. "It’s not easy just to show up and play with everything that is going on in my country.”

The urge to do something, anything, to help is real. Contreras looked toward the Boston dugout and shouted “Venezuela” before making the trip around the bases following a three-run shot that marked his 18th homer of the season.

“I feel like I could be there helping people and I can’t do that,” Contreras said. “And the homer just represents something that I pray to God for it to happen, because that’s the only thing I can do for Venezuela right now physically. And that’s why I was emotional.”

The 34-year-old Contreras was born in Puerto Cabello, about three hours west of the capital of Caracas. He described frustration over reports of volunteers and aid packages having trouble getting through to those who need it.

“It sucks seeing so many bad things going on in Venezuela,” he said. “I don’t think we deserve all of this. We’re a good people. Good country. We are good people.”

Contreras' night on the field ended a bit early. First base umpire Nic Lentz ejected him in the second inning after Lentz ruled Contreras failed to check his swing on a Miles Mikolas pitch that ended up being a strikeout.

Jonathan Tah’s headed goal for Germany against Paraguay in extra-time of their last-32 World Cup tie was controversially ruled out after a VAR review.

With the score 1-1 after 90 minutes, Germany defender Tah rose highest at the back post to brilliantly head home.

However, the goal was ruled out after a VAR (Video Assistant Referee) referral for a foul on Paraguay goalkeeper Orlando Gill by Waldemar Anton. Moroccan referee Jalal Jayed was sent to the screen and announced to the crowd that a foul had been committed.

Anton was adjudged to have blocked Gill before Tah headed the ball in, but ex-England captain Alan Shearer, commentating for the BBC, believed the foul was “very, very soft.”

“Not for me, I don't agree with that decision at all,” he said.

“He falls to the ground far too easy. Yes, there's contact, but it's a contact sport. There are 13 bodies in the six-yard box, not for me.

“I don't agree with that. The 'keeper buys it [the contact]. Very, very soft, that is, very soft.”

Former World Cup final assistant referee Darren Cann agreed with Shearer’s assessment.

“This is soft but it wouldn't surprise me if it's ruled out,” he said. “This is hardly anything - a small block on the goalkeeper, I suspect it's for a block on the goalkeeper.”

As such, the score remained 1-1 with the last-32 tie heading for a penalty shoot-out in Boston.

Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren plans to meet with the Sacramento Kings when free agency begins to pursue a sign-and-trade deal, NBA on Prime and The Athletic reported Monday.

Duren and the Pistons were far apart in recent negotiations, per reports, with the big man eligible for a five-year, $287.1 million extension -- $57.42 million per year -- because he was named to the All-NBA third team this year. HoopsHype recently reported that Duren's camp was seeking $40 million per year.

While Duren averaged 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in 70 games (all starts) in the regular season, his fourth season in the NBA, the first-time All-Star was far less effective in two playoff series for the top-seeded Pistons.

The eighth-seeded Orlando Magic and fourth-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers both pushed Detroit to seven games before the Cavaliers eliminated the Pistons in the second round. Duren averaged 10.2 points and 8.5 rebounds in 14 postseason games, including four games in single-figure scoring in the Cleveland series.

The Athletic reported that "the most likely scenario" in a Duren sign-and-trade to Sacramento would involve Domantas Sabonis being sent to Detroit.

Sabonis, a three-time All-Star center/forward, has career averages of 16.1 points, 10.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 665 career games for Oklahoma City (2016-17), Indiana (2017-22) and Sacramento (2022-26).

Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman were initially unsure about doing a romantic comedy but fell in love with the book

The Love Hypothesis explores romance and friendship, with Reinhart praising its focus on loyalty and fresh relationship dynamics

The cast and crew prioritized staying true to the beloved novel while creating a timeless romantic comedy for fans

When Lili Reinhart first received the script for The Love Hypothesis, she hadn't even read Ali Hazelwood's bestselling novel.

That quickly changed.

"The script was brought to me. I hadn't read the book yet, but as soon as I got the script, I read the script and then I went and read the book and then I felt convinced to do it,” Reinhart, 29, said during a June 27 Obsessed Fest panel promoting the upcoming romantic comedy. “I wasn't sure I wanted to do a romantic comedy, but then I was very quickly sold on the idea.”

Her costar Tom Bateman had a similar experience.

“I got sent the script first. I had heard about the book, but I hadn't read it,” Bateman, 37, said. “Like Lili, I wasn't entirely sure a romantic comedy was in my future. But I read it and just fell in love with the characters and the world.”

The Love Hypothesis follows Olive Smith, a Ph.D. candidate who impulsively kisses notoriously intimidating professor Adam Carlsen to convince her best friend she's over her ex. The fake relationship soon spirals into an elaborate dating arrangement that begins as a mutually beneficial scheme but gradually turns into something real, as the pair discover they may have more in common than they ever expected.

For both stars, it wasn't just the central romance that made the story stand out.

“If you aren't familiar, the big, important part of The Love Hypothesis and sort of the engine of the story, is that these two come together because of Olive's loyalty to her best friend,” Reinhart explained. “I really enjoyed the friendship aspect. I think it's a romantic comedy. It's about two people falling in love, but it also stemming from a place of female friendship, which is really beautiful and lovely.”

She added that Olive and Adam's relationship also offered a fresh take on a familiar trope.

“I also just ended up falling in love with Olive and Adam as I read the script and as I read the book. I thought they were so charming,” Reinhart said. “It's not exactly an enemies-to-lovers trope because they're never quite enemies. They're just extremely opposite and that was obviously fun to play.”

Bateman agreed, saying he was drawn to two people who seemingly have nothing in common.

“These are two people who, surely, shouldn't work,” he said. “But because they, as Lil said, they're doing something to help her friend and trying to do a beautiful thing, they really get to see each other for who they are.”

Adapting a beloved novel for the screen inevitably means making changes, but Reinhart said preserving what readers loved most was always the priority.

“I think it felt, as much as it could, like a really timeless romantic comedy,” she said. “I think that's what the script was able to feel like for me while still keeping the integrity of both characters and doing the book justice. Obviously the importance of the book, it's the source material we wanted to totally respect, [which] I think our writer, Sarah, absolutely did. So yeah, the heart of the book is in the film.”

Bateman acknowledged that bringing a fan-favorite novel to life comes with high expectations, since every reader imagines the characters differently.

“I really think it's really hard when you're adapting something for film because every single one of you who loves the book has your own idea of what these characters are gonna be like,” he said. “Every single person involved with this had such a deep love for the book and for doing it justice for everyone that loves it.”

That love carried over onto set.

“People were really fanning over it. The book was around set all the time,” Bateman recalled. “I remember Lil gave me the book on set, and we'd be reading bits of it before shooting the scene. It was always front-and-center of what we were trying to do. We weren't trying to get away from it in any way. We were just trying to do our very best to give everyone what they want out of this story.”

As anticipation continues to build ahead of the film's release, Reinhart hopes both longtime readers and newcomers embrace the story.

“It's just been a year of hype buildup,” she said. “I hope that the book lovers are happy and I hope the people who haven't read the book are also happy.”

The Love Hypothesis in theaters on Sept. 23. The 2021 novel is also available now, wherever books are sold.

- Jenna Bush Hager recalled on *Today* that she once danced during a family tennis game in a way that did not amuse her late grandparents, George H.W. and Barbara Bush.

- Hager said her father, George W. Bush, was entertained by her competitiveness.

- But Barbara Bush penned a letter to Hager that said the behavior was "not becoming."

Jenna Bush Hager says her late grandmother, first lady Barbara Bush, was not a fan of the way she acted during one particular family tennis match.

"I'm competitive, and I like performance around competition," Bush, 44, said Thursday while hosting* **Today** with Jenna & Sheinelle*. In fact, she said that, as a "full adult," she had been "doing the worm and yelling, 'Not today!'"

Hager, the daughter of former President George W. Bush and the granddaughter of former President George H.W. Bush, said her dad found her antics "very funny." Not so much her grandparents, who both died in 2018.

"My grandfather really believed in sportsmanship, like being really kind and humble and all those things," Hager said. "And I think my … behavior rubbed my grandmother the wrong way, so she wrote me a letter."

She noted that she had been preparing to send her children back to school. (She and husband Henry Hager are the parents of 13-year-old Mila, 10-year-old Poppy, and son Hal, who's 6.)

"The best part is that she addressed it to me and my dad," Hager said. "She was like, 'That behavior on the tennis court was not becoming. And George, you shouldn't have cheered her on, either.'"

The former first lady added, "'P.S. Throw this letter away and don't tell anybody about it.'"

For all her prim and properness, Bush did have a sense of humor.

For instance, she made light of her supposed feud with Marge Simpson — yes, the animated TV character — after having insulted *The Simpsons*. She called the show "the dumbest thing I've ever seen," in a conversation with PEOPLE.

In response, the show's writers wrote Bush a letter of their own in the voice of Marge.

"I recently read your criticism of my family. I was deeply hurt," Marge said. "Heaven knows we're far from perfect and, if truth be known, maybe just a wee bit short of normal; but as Dr. Seuss says, 'a person is a person.'"

Bush answered with an apology.

"How kind of you to write," the first lady wrote. "I am glad you spoke your mind; I foolishly didn't know you had one. I am looking at a picture of you, depicted on a plastic cup, with your blue hair filled with pink birds peeking out all over. Evidently, you and your charming family — Lisa, Homer, Bart and Maggie — are camping out. It is a nice family scene. Clearly you are setting a good example for the rest of the country. Please forgive a loose tongue."

She added in a P.S. that "Homer looks like a handsome fella!"

**: There was scheming and points drama in this bracket. How did you react to the way the points were distributed, and what was your reaction to not advancing?**

**HERSHII LIQCOUR-JETÉ:** This bitch tried me! I came in very strategic, and then I got real comfortable the second episode. I thought I annihilated the third episode. And then somebody won that I thought shouldn't have won.

**JASMINE KENNEDIE:** We know who. Samantha [Star].

**HERSHII: **It threw my whole game off. I didn't understand what was going on. Jasmine had been talking to all the girls on the side, and I thought she'd just been talking to *me*. All of a sudden, the girls are voting to send whoever through. I was going to put Joey Jay through and find a way to deadlock it so Ru could put me through. Joey says Jasmine's name. I go, wait a minute.... Right before we walked up, Jasmine looks past me, to Joey, and she says, "You have to *something*" and it just clicked to me right then. **JASMINE:** Let me explain. You may think I'm dumb, but I actually do know math sometimes. The day before we filmed, I realized that me and Hershii both had three points. If we weren't in the top, the only way that we could advance is if we got all three points. I pulled her over and told her about it and said to keep it very hush-hush. Right after Sam and Kennedy [Davenport] finished the lip-sync, I said I've got to speak my truth. We can make RuPaul pick. We have to put either Hershii or me [through] but we all have to vote for one person, and they voted for me!

**SHUGA:** We did vote for you. I had no idea.

**HERSHII:** So, why you didn't pick me?

**SHUGA:** [Jasmine] kind of f---ed me up, because I was going to give my point to Kennedy, even though she was already winning. I was like, f--- everybody else, I'm just giving her the point, she's MVQ, she's the one that deserves it!

**Shuga, it sounds like you wanted to play the point system fairly?**

**SHUGA:** I was a very fair queen. But I was not going to give my point first. That was not happening. If you wanted a point from me, you had to give me one first. I really stuck to my guns. I did get got, but, you know, I had an opportunity to flip the game on its head and screw everyone over, but I didn't. I struggled with that in the second episode, because I’m all about my word and I wanted to play fairly. I could've done that, but, deep down I just couldn't do it.

**JASMINE: **I didn't expect any of them to give me a point because I did talk a lot of s---, and I was very upfront with people. Not these girls really thinking trans lives matter this time! Wow, thank you!

**HERSHII: **I felt like Trinity K. Bonét. So close!

**SHUGA:** At that last point, I was like — can I say f---? — Sorry, f--- all this. I can't. I kind of started to black out. There's no way I was figuring out whose points and whatever, I didn't even know.
