They may be all smiles for the cameras, but Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could have more complicated motives behind their return to England, according to royal insiders.

The couple’s seemingly sudden trip has sparked speculation about what may be driving the move. Some sources claim Meghan could be gathering material for a future tell-all book, while Prince Harry is reportedly still seeking an apology from members of the royal family.

Friends of the prince say he's still angry at his family.MEGA

According to friends of the prince who spoke anonymously, Harry is "just as angry" as he was when he left Britain in 2020 and still expects an apology from members of the royal family, as reported by the Standard.

"He's still in that Oprah mindset," one source said of the prince, who stepped back from his role as a senior working royal six years ago. Harry and Meghan later moved to California, where they pursued a number of commercial ventures, including media deals, publishing projects and lifestyle ventures.

Those efforts have seen mixed results. Some projects, including Harry's memoir, Spare, became major commercial successes, while others failed to gain the same traction.

Behind the Scenes of Royal Life

Prince Harry visited London in July 2026, ahead of the big move.MEGA

Those close to Harry, who retains the title Duke of Sussex, say he has accused royal aides of trying to damage his relationship with his father, King Charles III.

The couple’s return from California has also prompted speculation about whether family tensions are the only reason behind the visit, or whether other practical considerations may be at play.

What Is Meghan Up To?

There have been rumors that Meghan is making a comeback to acting and may even be writing a book.MEGA

Soon after it was announced that Harry and Meghan would return to the U.K., reports surfaced that Meghan could be eyeing a return to acting, the career she left behind before becoming the Duchess of Sussex.

She was later linked to a possible role in The Gentlemen, though series star Theo Jamesdismissed the speculation as “a lot of hot air,” as reported by Town & Country.

More recently, reports have suggested Meghan could be considering a tell-all book about the royal family.

Harry's Future With the Royal Family

Prince Harry spilled details about his family in the book.MEGA

As recently as 2025, Prince Harry said he would "love reconciliation" with his family, according to Page Six. However, his relationship with his brother, Prince William, remains strained, according to royal experts.

Harry has also acknowledged the depth of the family rift himself, saying that "some members" of the royal family may "never forgive" him.

The late Queen Elizabeth II successfully concealed her major television appearance not only from the British public, but from the entire royal family as well.

Her remarkable sense of humor came to light after it emerged that she played a pivotal part in the 2012 London Olympics.

During the opening ceremony, the Queen memorably participated in a James Bond sequence, which caught viewers at home completely off guard. It comes following the revelation that Johnny Cash, who passed away over 20 years ago, was related to King Charles through his paternal lineage.

In the brief segment, Daniel Craig, portraying James Bond, reached Buckingham Palace to accompany the Queen to the games, with Her Majesty seemingly parachuting into the stadium for the evening's proceedings, reports the Express.

According to her former communications and press secretary, Ailsa Anderson, the stunt remained highly confidential.

During a 2024 interview, she recalled, "Danny Boyle approached the palace, and the Queen was asked, and she didn't hesitate; she said yes.

"It was obviously all under wraps; no one knew about it, including the family," she stated on Hello's A Right Royal Podcast.

Ailsa went on,"You looked at the expressions on people's faces, like Zara and Mike Tindall, when it looked like the Queen was parachuting out of a helicopter; no one knew! It was that element of surprise.

"I think it just demonstrated how the late Queen would take chances and also had this extraordinary sense of humour.

"The Paddington sketch she did at her Platinum Jubilee showed that cheeky sense of humour and her willingness to put her country before herself."

Prince William and Prince Harry had previously commented on the unexpected moment, with the Duke of Sussex telling BBC News, "Both of us were slightly surprised by our grandmother's secret hobby of parachuting, which went down unbelievably well.

"She did such a good performance that she has now been asked to star in the next Bond film. You don't expect the Queen to do something like that, [but] what she does in her spare time is her spare time."

William added, "To be honest, we were kept completely in the dark about it; that's how big the secret was."

Princess Eugenie, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson's youngest daughter, shared the revelation during a conversation about her close bond with her late grandmother on the White Wine Question Time podcast.

Discussing the Bond sketch, the 33-year-old mother of two remarked, "Nobody knew... it was amazing. We were all surprised."

Since its public debut in June, SpaceX stock has soared to as much as 50% above its opening trading price, and has also slumped to as far as 30% below it.

Analysis of other recent tech IPOs suggests that buying into volatility can eventually pay off for patient investors.

While SpaceX has recovered from its early slump, the company still has a lot to prove before the market will have reason to bid the stock to new highs.

10 stocks we like better than Space Exploration Technologies ›

Elon Musk's Space Exploration Technologies(NASDAQ: SPCX), better known as SpaceX, has already given investors the full IPO experience. SpaceX stock opened on the Nasdaq at $150. In its first few days, shares soared, briefly touching a high of $225.64 -- a pop of roughly 50% in less than a week.

Predictably, momentum traders started cashing out and booking quick gains. Throughout the summer, volatility was the main theme with SpaceX stock. Shares slid as low as $104.83 in early August before gradually climbing back to around their opening price, which is where they're hovering today. That's a lot of volatility.

Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »

The question I've been mulling over is a little uncomfortable: If SpaceX stock again crashes, this time to an even deeper low of, say, under $100 per share, should investors treat that event like a gift? Or would it be better to read it as a sign that Musk's empire of reusable rockets, satellite broadband services, and artificial intelligence (AI) is really just a falling knife masked as a once-in-a-generation opportunity?

How have other mega-IPOs played out?

SpaceX went public in the largest IPO in history, raising nearly $86 billion. To put into perspective where the stock could be headed, let's consider three other recent IPOs that attracted major hype: Palantir Technologies(NASDAQ: PLTR), Snowflake(NYSE: SNOW), and Figma(NYSE: FIG).

Palantir's first year as a public company looked like a solid win. The data analytics company went public at $10 per share in September 2020. By the end of that year, the stock had doubled. In late January 2021, shares spiked into the $40 range before giving back some of those gains, eventually settling in a range between $20 and $30 for the rest of the year.

But Palantir spent the next year getting chopped down to a low near $6 per share. It wasn't until the company turned profitable and launched its Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) in mid-2023 that institutional investors began respecting it more.

Over the last few years, Palantir has consistently proven it's one of the backbones of enterprise AI systems across the public and private sectors. As a result, both Wall Street and retail investors have come to appreciate it, and have treated the stock as a core beneficiary of the AI revolution.

Snowflake's public debut was hard to miss. In September 2020, Snowflake stock opened trading at $245 and closed its first day of trading at $254. The company's first year on the exchanges was a rocket ride. Shares kept climbing throughout 2021, peaking at $402 by November of that year. But similar to Palantir, Snowflake's valuation collapsed during 2022. By the spring, Snowflake stock had given back its entire post-IPO runup and briefly traded under its IPO price of $120.

The irony is that Snowflake's business was growing the entire time. Yet investors remained skeptical until the AI data-cloud story looked convincingly less like a slogan and more like the product revenue of a hypergrowth company deserving of a premium multiple. Today, Snowflake stock trades around $333, giving it a gain of 36% over six years.

PLTR data by YCharts.

Software-as-a-service company Figma opened on the public exchanges at $85 per share and popped to $115 in its first session. By the next day, Figma stock reached $143. That 68% surge echoes the rise SpaceX stock took in its first days of trading. Unfortunately for those who were chasing momentum, that was the high point. Figma has spent the last year sliding through the $80s, then the $40s, then into the $20s, eventually settling at a low near $17. But just like Snowflake, Figma's revenues have kept growing at rates in the vicinity of 40% throughout that prolonged sell-off.

These three particular IPOs are worth paying attention to because SpaceX has been rhyming with them in its limited time as a public company. The initial pop and the first fade have already happened. To me, a break under $100 per share would simply mean the market has decided that, based on SpaceX's rocket launch cadence, Starlink's economics, and the company's capital-intensive AI infrastructure promises, the valuation the company went public with was too rich.

What can investors learn from IPO investing?

If SpaceX stock falls below $100, the easy take would be that the market is handing you an opportunity to buy the dip. Reflecting on the similar IPOs discussed here shows that this mindset was how many people got stuck buying at the wrong time. Some investors who bought Palantir near $40 in early 2021 watched the stock crater to $6. A Snowflake buyer who go int at $250 on day one and held on would have spent years underwater. Meanwhile, anyone who bought Figma during its first few days and months on the market is either still in the red or has liquidated their position at a considerable loss.

With all that in mind, investors should view the investment thesis for SpaceX in terms of actual numbers, not vibes. Ask yourself: What rocket launch cadence, Starlink cash flow, and AI infrastructure revenue would make a $100 share price actually look cheap for the company instead of merely lower relative to the current premium valuation?

From there, all you'll need to do is watch SpaceX's progress in terms of flight rates, constellation utilization, and whether the AI segment is turning profitable. If those operational metrics improve while the ticker sulks, that is a setup that should eventually pay off. Both Palantir and Snowflake demonstrate that point. On the flip side, if SpaceX's finances stall, then a $99 share price would just be a cheaper way to own the same problem.

The market always follows earnings

If SpaceX follows the same descending path that other mega-IPOs have, history suggests investors should not load up at $99 a share. Instead, reframe the nature of the investment opportunity, keep monitoring earnings, and start buying shares only when the company is achieving what it has set out to do. If rocket launches, Starlink's subscriber numbers, and AI revenue compound while the ticker heads sideways, that is usually when the rerating quietly begins. Markets can be late, but they are not clueless.

This is the difference between buying a story and investing in a business with real earnings. While the initial IPO tape can make a story feel finished, the companies discussed here proved that the offering is only the opening scene. In reality, SpaceX is still in that scene. For now, a sub-$100 price tag would mostly mean that the stock's first pop was where the easy money was made. Now, investors face the harder question of whether the stock is still worth owning on the way down.

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Austin Simmons threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns, Robert Woodyard Jr. produced back-to-back second-half turnovers to help Missouri take control, and the No. 23 Tigers beat Kansas 38-21 on Friday night in the latest edition of the Border War.

Jamal Roberts ran for 125 yards and a touchdown, and Donovan Olugbode and Cayden Lee caught TD passes, helping the Tigers (2-0) beat their biggest rival for the fifth straight time in their first trip across the state line since Oct. 29, 2005.

It was tied 14-all early in the second half when Woodyard fell on Kansas quarterback Isaiah Marshall’s fumble, and Simmons quickly found Olugbode for the go-ahead touchdown. On the Jayhawks’ next offensive play, Woodyard faded into the secondary and was there to pick off Marshall’s pass, setting up Xai’Shaun Edwards’ touchdown run.

Marshall finished with 168 yards passing, two touchdowns and two interceptions for the Jayhawks (1-1), who haven’t beaten Missouri since Nov. 29, 2008. The sophomore quarterback also carried 20 times for just 23 yards.

Kansas jumped on the Tigers early, just as it did last season in Columbia, when a series that went on hiatus after the Tigers’ departure for the SEC finally resumed after more than a decade. This time around, the Jayhawks capitalized on Missouri miscues: four false start penalties in the first half alone, blown blocking assignments and two blocked field-goal attempts.

On the second block, the Jayhawks’ Austin Alexander scooped up the ball and ran 88 yards for the first points of the game.

Roberts, once more taking center stage for the Tigers with All-American Ahmad Hardy rehabbing after a gunshot wound earlier this year, quickly provided an answer, jetting over the right side for a 64-yard touchdown run. It was the longest of his career, eclipsing a 63-yarder that Roberts scored with 1:49 to go to clinch last year’s 42-31 victory over the Jayhawks.

The teams traded touchdowns late in the first half, sending the 122nd edition of the Border War to the break tied 14-all.

But two big plays by Woodyards and the Missouri defense tilted the game in their favor, and after Marshall found Nahzae Cox to get Kansas to 28-21 late in the third quarter, the Tigers’ Blake Craig added a field goal to help them regain control.

NO. 24 LOUISVILLE 59, VILLANOVA 13

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Lincoln Kienholz threw for 332 yards and two touchdowns and ran for two more scores to help Louisville beat Villanova for its first victory of the season.

The Ohio State transfer missed on his first two passes, then little else, as he led the Cardinals (1-1) to an easy victory over their Football Championship Subdivision guests. He completed 16 of 21 passes and gained 42 yards on six carries before exiting the game after three quarters with Louisville up 45-13.

Louisville had 635 yards of offense and held the Wildcats (1-2) to 253, with just 126 coming after the first minute of the second quarter.

Kienholz put Louisville up for good with his 19-yard touchdown run with 4:33 left in the opening quarter, making it 10-3. He added a 69-yard pass to Jaleel Skinner with 14 seconds left in the period. Lawayne McCoy caught three passes for 102 yards, including a 61-yard touchdown strike from Kienholz with 13:24 left in the first half.

Pat McQuaide completed 18 of 31 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown for the Wildcats, but connected on just four of his last 14 attempts.

NO. 25 VIRGINIA 59, NORFOLK STATE 3

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Beau Pribula threw three first-quarter touchdown passes, and Virginia rolled to a win over Norfolk State.

Jacquon Gibson caught scoring tosses of 30 and 6 yards and Ty’Liric Coleman, Da’Shawn Martin, Isaiah Robinson and Hayden Rollison also hauled in touchdown catches for the Cavaliers (2-0). After rushing for 258 yards against N.C. State in its opener, Virginia threw for 229 yards and six scores.

Coach Tony Elliott’s Cavaliers exacted a measure of revenge on former Virginia Tech quarterback Michael Vick, now Norfolk State’s coach. Vick led the Hokies to wins over Virginia in 1999 and 2000 by a combined score of 73-28.

Deljay Bailey threw interceptions on the Spartans’ first two drives and finished 15 for 25 for 152 yards.

Pribula went 12 of 14 for 162 yards before yielding to backups Eli Holstein and Cole Geer. Holstein, a Pittsburgh transfer, threw for two scores.

Reserve linebacker Justin Rowe capped the scoring with a 50-yard interception return for a touchdown with 4:17 left in the game.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released its much-anticipated inflation report for August 2026.

The report showed inflation rose 3.4% in August compared to a year earlier. The month-to-month rise of 0.4% is higher than the 0.1% seen in the July 2026 report.

Inflation is currently 1.4% higher than the U.S. Federal Reserve's target rate of 2%.

Energy prices and housing prices were major driving factors that led to inflation in the month of August. Gas prices jumped nearly 4% in August from July, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Housing prices rose slightly in the month of August but were around 3% higher than in August 2025.

The August inflation report comes shortly before the U.S. Federal Reserve is set to meet in September to decide what to do with inflation rates.

"I think at this point it's a coin flip. I would lean a little bit more towards them increasing them by a quarter of a percent as opposed to leaving them unchanged. I think with the stronger-than-normal jobs report and high inflation, I think that will tilt the Fed towards increasing rates at this point," University of San Diego Economics Professor Alan Gin, Ph.D., said.

Gin said if that happens, borrowing costs would eventually rise, meaning consumers will likely spend more money on paying for credit cards, new mortgages, and auto loans.

The past 10 years in the fast-food industry have been a study in automation.

McDonald’s rolled out in-store kiosks in 2016 for customers to order at instead of waiting in line for an employee at the counter. Wendy’s debuted a human-free AI drive-thru system - “FreshAi” - in 2023.

But the tide appears to be turning back to human interaction, according to aThe Wall Street Journal report this week.

“[Customers] want a friendly face,” Burger King President Tom Curtis told the Journal. “We have to lean in to that because that’s evaporating in the fast food space.”

While fast-food outlets have been quick to incorporate digital kiosks and AI in drive-thru ordering, for example, customers say they would rather deal with another human being.

Burger King, McDonald’s and other prominent fast-food chains are rethinking their balance of AI- and tech-driven advancements with customer preferences for human-driven hospitality (AFP/Getty)

Some 80 percent of diners prefer ordering from a human over an AI agent, Fortunereported in July.

Chicago-based hot-dog chain Portillo’s is one business that changed its operations to improve staff-to-customer interactions.

It took a Chick-fil-A approach to its drive-thru - meaning sending staff out to take orders in lieu of the typical menu and speaker -according to a 2024 article from fast-food industry publication QSR Magazine.

Portillo’s also brought in baristas to teach its employees how to strike up conversations with customers waiting in the drive-thru line.

“It’s easy to talk about it and say, ‘OK, we really want you to have a good conversation with the guest,’” Portillo’s Vice President of Field Operations Mike Roman told QSR.

“But when they can actually see someone else do it and see the impact it can have on a customer, it really clicks in their brain and makes a big difference. We want each conversation to be personable.”

Burger King is adjusting in-store layouts to emphasize human-to-human interactions. ‘We have to lean in to that because that’s evaporating in the fast food space,’ a company exec told The Wall Street Journal Thursday (Burger King)

Bigger brands such as McDonald’s, Burger King, Starbucks, Wendy’s and McDonald’s are preparing new initiatives emphasizing staff-to-customer interactions, the Journal reported.

Changes range from “energetic greetings” to making sure counter staff are available for complaints and to double-check order accuracy, the Journal said.

The move toward a more human restaurant experience elevates key qualities that AI can’t offer, including accountability, judgment and observation, an August commentary from industry newsletter The Prep said.

“As restaurants race to adopt AI, operators should be careful about automating the very thing diners are paying for: hospitality,” the newsletter said.

“Technology can improve prep, reduce waste and eliminate administrative work, but removing human interaction from the guest experience risks stripping away the product itself: connection.”

Matt LaFleur had already made his support for Josh Jacobs clear while the Green Bay Packers running back’s legal case unfolded. After Jacobs appeared in court Thursday, the Packers coach was given another opportunity to address the situation.

His answer drew immediate criticism.

Jacobs pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage to property stemming from a May incident involving his girlfriend. He remains on the NFL Commissioner’s Exempt List as the league continues its investigation.

Asked Friday whether the latest developments changed his opinion of Jacobs, LaFleur said they did not.

“Because I know the guy and I know the character of the guy, so I’ve said it many times, and unfortunately situations occur in life, and it’s just an unfortunate situation,” LaFleur said.

That response did not sit well with several observers.

The criticism extended beyond the wording of LaFleur’s answer. Some questioned what it communicated about his leadership in a serious situation.

Brendan Sugrue wrote, “Good on the few Packer fans and media who are calling MLF out for this quote. They aren’t letting their bias get in the way. As for the rest, try to see how weak of a quote this is. And people wonder why there are leadership questions with LaFleur.”

The backlash across the supplied reactions ranged from calling the response “pretty weak” to describing the approach as “spineless stuff.”

Packers Await NFL’s Decision on Jacobs

Peter Bukowski offered an alternative response LaFleur could have given:

“It would be SO easy to just say ‘We think highly of Josh Jacobs and understand bad decisions happen. It’s disappointing he put himself in this position, but we hope he can grow from it. We’ll be here to support him through it.’”

Ty Dunne questioned the response more simply: “This is a real quote from the team’s head coach?”

Jacobs was fined $1,000 plus court costs on the battery charge. Proceedings on the criminal-damage count were deferred for 12 months and can be dismissed if he satisfies the conditions imposed by the court.

His football future remains unresolved. The NFL has not announced a timetable for completing its investigation, and Jacobs cannot practice or play while on the exempt list.

Jacobs’ potential discipline had already generated debate after Thursday’s court appearance, with hispotential suspension remaining one of Green Bay’s biggest unanswered questions entering the season.

LaFleur said he would not discuss the matter further until the league completes its investigation. His attempt to close the subject, however, only created a new argument about how he chose to address it.
