Minnie Driver is revealing how Arnold Schwarzenegger and James Cameron came to her aid after she suffered a wardrobe malfunction at the Oscars in 1998.

The 56-year-old actress, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress that year for her performance in *Good Will Hunting**,* shared that the *Terminator* star and director were extremely helpful in finding the scattered beads of her bracelet after it broke during the ceremony.

Driver explained that the incident occurred when she was cheering on her costar Robin Williams' win for Best Supporting Actor that evening.

"When Robin Williams won, I had an incredibly beautiful bracelet on that was made up of hundreds of ruby beads," Driver recalled on Thursday's episode of *The Tonight Show*. "And as I was clapping for Robin, it bust."

To make matters worse, the beads were spread across the red carpet of the theater, making them not only a potential hazard but also harder to find.

But no mission is ever too challenging for the Terminator. "I'm not kidding you, Jim Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger got down on their hands and knees and they found — I mean, there were hundreds of them," Driver said. "When I handed the broken pieces back, there were only four missing."

She added, "They found every single bead but four. They were obsessed!"

As it turns out, a broken bracelet wasn't the only wardrobe malfunction that Driver experienced that night. Her dress — a crimson gown with an accompanying shawl — also nearly fell off while she was walking the red carpet with her parents.

"I'm looking at my dad because that picture was taken as my dress fell off," Driver said as host Jimmy Fallon held up a photograph of her smiling at the event. "And I'm clutching that stole around me to, you know, hide what I had for breakfast."

Driver revealed that her dad tried his best to coach her through the situation. "I'm looking at my dad and my dad was just doing this," she said, putting a finger to her face and miming a smile. "He was like, 'Keep smiling! Just keep smiling! Hold it!'"

Driver lost the Oscar to Kim Basinger for *L.A. Confidential*. Besides Williams' win, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon also took home the award for Best Original Screenplay for *Good Will Hunting*.

Forty days into the search for Nancy Guthrie, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos says authorities know why the mother of *Today *anchor Savannah Guthrie was targeted in a suspected abduction.

In an interview with *NBC Nightly News* on Thursday, Nanos shared an update on the investigation, which has been ongoing since the 84-year old was reported missing from her home in Catalina Foothills, Arizona on Feb. 1. He stated that authorities believe the suspect "could strike again" and that residents should remain on alert.

Nanos told *NBC News* correspondent Liz Kreutz of Nancy's disappearance on Thursday, "We believe we know why he did this, and we believe that it was targeted, but we're not 100 percent sure of that, so it'd be silly to tell people, 'Yeah, don't worry about it. You're not his target.' Don't think for a moment because it happened to the Guthrie family you're safe. Keep your wits about you."

Nanos added that authorities believe they know the suspect's motive but are "intentionally withholding" those details to prevent theories from spreading. "From day one, we had some strong beliefs about what happened, and those beliefs haven't diminished," he said.

The sheriff's department is also looking into a reported internet outage in the area on the night of Nancy's disappearance and considering whether a Wi-Fi jammer was used or another electrical disruption occurred.

He said, "We have our beliefs, everybody else has theirs."

Nanos has been the subject of reports as of late that he withheld physical evidence pertaining to Nancy's case from the FBI, which is assisting in the investigation. He denied those reports in February as "not even close to the truth." He also responded to a report on Tuesday that he misrepresented his work history on his résumé.

The report, published Monday by the *Arizona Republic*, made several claims regarding Nanos' time with the El Paso Police Department, including that his service there ended in 1982, while his résumé stated that he worked there until 1984.

A representative for the Pima County Sheriff's Department provided a statement to * *on Tuesday confirming that discrepancy, and owning up to another not included in the *Arizona Republic *report.

"The Pima County Sheriff's Department recently identified two clerical errors in Sheriff Chris Nanos' publicly posted resume," the statement said. "Both date discrepancies were administrative in nature and were not intended to mislead or misrepresent Sheriff Nanos' work history."

The statement continued: "Sheriff Nanos served with the El Paso Police Department from 1976 to 1982. His service with El Paso PD concluded in 1982, not 1984 as previously stated. Additionally, Sheriff Nanos was promoted to the rank of captain in 2007, not 2009."

An résumé with the errors corrected has since been uploaded to the PCSD website, and the statement concluded by stating that Nanos "has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to professionalism, accountability, and the safety of the communities he serves," leading the department he has presided over since 2021 "with experience, integrity, and a clear focus on protecting the residents of Pima County."

As the search for Nancy continues, her daughter, *Today Show* anchor Savannah, has acknowledged that her mother "may already be gone."

In a video shared to her Instagram on February 24, Savannah said that although she and her siblings, Annie and Camron, continue to fight for their mother's safe return, they've contemplated the bleak reality that Nancy "may be lost."

"We still believe in a miracle, we still believe that she can come home — hope against hope," Savannah said fighting back tears as she added that her family is "aching" for their missing matriarch. "As my sister says, 'We are blowing on the embers of hope.'"

- JRK Jr. co-founded *George*, a politics and pop culture magazine, with his friend Michael Berman.

- A physical altercation (and ripped shirtsleeve) led to Berman's exit from the project.

- Berman regrets not making amends with JFK Jr. prior to the scion's 1999 death.

John F. Kennedy Jr. was working as an assistant district attorney when Bill Clinton's infamous sax solo on a 1992 episode of *The Arsenio Hall Show* got him thinking. Glossy print magazines were all the rage — what about one that merged politics and pop culture? Three years later, his idea became a reality with the first issue of *George*.

As its title implies, FX's *Love Story *is primarily centered on JFK Jr.'s troubled marriage to Carolyn Bessette, but it also explores the scion's efforts to launch *George* with the help of a friend, Michael Berman.

On the show, the relationship between JFK Jr. (Paul Anthony Kelly) and Berman (Michael Nathanson) is a fractious one plagued by disagreements. The simmering tensions between the pair boiled over in episode 7, resulting in a bitter fight and Berman's exit from the magazine.

Did JFK Jr. and Michael Berman really come to blows? And is that really why Berman left *George*? Here's what we know about what happened in real life.**

Several publications, including *The Independent*, *Time*, and *Esquire*, have reported of a "physical altercation" that occurred between JFK Jr. and Michael Berman behind the scenes of *George*.

The *Esquire* report, for example, called the pair's testy relationship an "office distraction," noting a fight in January 1997 that "left Berman's shirtsleeve ripped" and resulted in JFK Jr. asking to have the locks on his office doors changed.

This is all elaborated upon in Steven M. Gillon's 2019 biography, *America's Reluctant Prince: The Life of John F. Kennedy Jr*., which includes quotes from Berman about the pair's fallout.

Ryan Murphy takes flak from John F. Kennedy Jr.'s nephew Jack Schlossberg for 'Love Story' series

The fight then spilled out into the hallway, with Berman allegedly trying to use a letter opener to pick the lock of JFK Jr.'s office.

"Of all the fierce arguments that Michael and John had had in the past, this one was by far the loudest and most intense," Gillon writes. "To those who witnessed the scene, Berman appeared out of control."

When JFK Jr. called on a locksmith, Berman requested that his lock also be changed. "John managed to get his lock changed with a simple phone call; his co-founder was told he needed to submit a work order."

This dynamic, in which JRK Jr.'s name and celebrity earned him the kind of preferential treatment that Berman never received, was an ongoing source of tension between the pair. Gillon was a co-founder of *George*, but felt that he and JFK Jr. were not treated as equal partners by the magazine's publisher, Hachette.**

What was JFK Jr. and Michael Berman's real-life fight about?

The inequality sensed by Berman wasn't the only source of tension between the business partners. According to numerous reports (and Gillon's book), the pair frequently disagreed about the direction of the magazine.

What caused matters to boil over in January 1997, according to Gillon, was the idea of a *George* TV show. Hatchette was eager to launch a series capitalizing on JFK Jr.'s fame, but the scion was less enthused, wanting to prove himself as an editor.

He eventually relented, saying he would play a small role in a TV special. "He would say hello and goodbye," Berman told Gillon. "He had full approval of everything he would say. His name would not appear in the title. He would not be asked to promote it."

That's how Berman says he presented it to networks, but wires got crossed and JFK Jr. allegedly became convinced he was being set up as a TV host, with Berman negotiating behind his back.

According to Gillon, this led to him storming into Berman's office, and the physical struggle ensued over the files related to the show. "We are not doing any of this," JFK Jr. is reported to have said. "I'll be the editor, and you can be the publisher. That's the way it's going to be."

The conflict escalated when Berman brought up JFK Jr.'s "problems at home," specifically his relationship to his wife, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. JFK Jr. reportedly said that Berman was jealous of how the staff liked Bessette Kennedy more than him. Berman allegedly retorted, "Her behavior is deplorable!" This remark, Gillon writes, is what caused JFK Jr. to leave Berman's office and Berman to follow him.

In 2003, *Vanity Fair *also reported on tension between Berman and Bessette Kennedy, saying that her "constant meddling" in *George*'s editorial operations hurt JFK Jr.'s relationship with Berman.

"Carolyn didn't like Michael Berman," said one of the article's sources. "She thought Michael wasn't on the up-and-up, and that he had a vested interest in her husband. She poisoned John's relationship with Michael. I heard her tell John, 'I don't believe Michael's your real friend. The only reason he's close to you is because you're John F. Kennedy Jr.'"

Why did Michael Berman leave George?

Michael Nathanson as Michael Berman on 'Love Story'

Michael Nathanson as Michael Berman on 'Love Story'.

According to Gillon, the January 1997 fight resulted in the end of JFK Jr. and Berman's friendship, as well as Berman's exit from *George*. Despite JFK Jr. apologizing and buying Berman a new shirt, his partner departed to work at another division of Hatchette.

Publisher Elinore Carmody-Gibbons told Gillon, "You cannot underestimate the impact of Michael leaving." Jean-Louis Ginibre, an editorial director for Hatchette, added, "When Berman left, something was lost in the mix."

Ad sales suffered in his wake, and the magazine never recovered following JFK Jr.'s death in a 1999 plane crash. Its last issue was published in January 2001.**

What has Michael Berman said about his relationship to JFK Jr.?

Paul Anthony Kelly as JFK Jr. on 'Love Story'

For many years, Berman remained silent about his departure from *George* and the fallout of his relationship with JFK Jr. Two decades after his exit, he finally opened up to Gillon.

"I regret having lost control that day. I certainly knew better — we both did — but my professional life had just come crashing down," he said. "John reached out a number of times over the next couple of years, but I never responded. I was still too angry."

Berman, who found success as an investor and the president of a private equity firm, looks back fondly on his former partner. "John started out as a good partner," he told Gillon. "He intuitively understood the intersection of politics and pop culture better than anyone I have ever known. He worked hard and challenged the status quo. He provided tremendous value well beyond his name. George foresaw what now constitutes an inherent aspect of 21st-century American culture. It's sad he's not here to see it, but even though the magazine did not survive, the original premise ultimately came true. For John, that is a powerful legacy."

He added of their ugly final meeting, "Having allowed that to be our final interaction haunts me to this day."**

Elle Fanning had a unique way of preparing for her latest role.

The Oscar nominee stars as college dropout and young mom Margot Millet on the upcoming Apple TV series *Margo's* *Got Money Troubles*. Her character turns to online sex work to help pay the bills, so Fanning turned to OnlyFans, the premier platform for online adult content, to get into her role.

"We had to dive into OnlyFans a little bit," Fanning shared with PEOPLE at the show's SXSW premiere on Thursday. "We did create an account for the writers' room, and for me, so I could check out how the website is."

Producer Eva Anderson shared further insight into the research that went into the show, which is based on the popular 2024 novel of the same name by Rufi Thorpe. Anderson said that the writers looked through the site together to help inform their work.

"There was a lot of looking at OnlyFans with the writers, but we all gave consent to each other before we did it," she said during the show's SXSW panel. "We were very responsible and we just tried to get as much information as we could before we started."

Fanning previously gushed about the "most wonderful experience" she had working on the series. She called the book "brilliant and heartwarming," and her character "inspiring to play" in an interview with Deadline in December.

"I hope people really enjoy the show," she said. "It's a family drama, but there's also, again, it's very heartwarming and Margo is such a hopeful character. She's dealt these hardships in life, but somehow she always is able to overcome them."

*Margo's Got Money Troubles* is an eight-episode series that also stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Offerman, Nicole Kidman, Greg Kinnear, Marcia Gay Harden, and more. David E. Kelley, Pfeiffer's husband, is the showrunner. The series premieres on Apple TV on April 15.

Ed Sheeran says wife Cherry Seaborn is "totally fine" after surgery to remove a cancerous tumor

The singer recalls learning of her diagnosis in February 2022 while she was six months pregnant with their daughter Jupiter

Sheeran says the news came during an already devastating week that included the deaths of friends Jamal Edwards and Shane Warne

Ed Sheeran is opening up about the terrifying moment he learned his wife, Cherry Seaborn, had cancer, and how she's doing today.

Speaking on the March 10 episode of the Friends Keep Secrets podcast with Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco, the Grammy winner was asked to name the best and worst days of his life.

The best, Sheeran said, was his 2019 wedding to Seaborn — with whom he shares two daughters: Lyra, 5, and Jupiter, 3. But the worst came in February 2022, when "Cherry rung me up and said she had cancer."

Seaborn, 33, was diagnosed with a tumor while six months pregnant with Jupiter. Doctors initially told the pair the tumor couldn't be operated on until after she gave birth, leaving them to navigate the pregnancy while waiting for surgery.

When asked how Seaborn is doing now, Sheeran, 35, said she has since recovered following surgery after Jupiter's birth.

"She's fine, she had the operation," he said. "She was pregnant at the time. That's why it was difficult. She had the operation to remove the tumor after the birth of our second child. And thankfully — touch wood — totally fine."

"It was f---ing scary," he added.

At the time, Sheeran was also grappling with the death of close friend Jamal Edwards, the music entrepreneur who helped launch his career, and the sudden death of cricket legend Shane Warne. He was also preparing to defend himself in a high-profile copyright infringement lawsuit over his 2017 hit "Shape of You," which he ultimately won.

"That was probably the worst week because Jamal died that week as well, and then we went straight into a court case. Oh, and then Shane died, first day of the court case."

Looking back, Sheeran said the perspective-shifting moment changed how he viewed the lawsuit that had loomed over him for years.

"Being in the court case though — which, like, everything was building to that for like, eight years," he said. "And then suddenly when you're in the courtroom, it didn't really matter. So I had built it up in my mind and then because of all of those actual heavy life things had happened, when I was in the courtroom I was like, 'I don't actually care about the outcome of this.' Because it's so small compared."

The singer first publicly revealed Seaborn's diagnosis in his 2023 Disney+ documentary Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All. In the film, Seaborn explained why she ultimately agreed to appear on camera despite typically avoiding the spotlight.

"I got diagnosed with cancer at the start of the year which was a massive s--ter," she said. "It made me massively reflect on our mortality. I would never agree to do anything like this but it made me think, 'Oh if I died, what's people's perception of me? What do you leave behind?' "

Sheeran became emotional in the documentary while reflecting on the experience. "It was horrible," he said.

Songwriting became a way for Sheeran to process the fear and uncertainty surrounding her diagnosis. He wrote seven songs in four hours after learning the news.

"When something really intense happens to him, he writes a song," Seaborn said.

In a 2023 cover story with Rolling Stone, Sheeran also opened up about the mental health struggles he experienced during that time. "There's nothing you can do about it. You feel so powerless," he said.

Amid the stress and grief he was experiencing, Sheeran said he began feeling like he "didn't want to live anymore."

"And I have had that throughout my life.… You're under the waves drowning. You're just sort of in this thing. And you can't get out of it," he said, admitting he felt shame about those feelings.

Sheeran said the emotions felt "selfish," adding, "especially as a father. I feel really embarrassed about it."

"They were like, 'Oh you win a million dollars or whatever, da da da,'" she said on a recent episode of *The Kelly Clarkson Show*. "No, you didn't. They lied. You did not, no. It was like a million dollars worth of investment in you. ... And then they said you get a car. And I needed it, 'cause my car is bashed in and I couldn't afford the deductible."

While the pop star did not get a car she was promised, the investment in her career paid off. After winning *American Idol* in 2002, Clarkson went on to score a dozen top-10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, which landed her on the publication's list of top female artists of the 21st century.

Still, Clarkson was annoyed about not receiving her reality TV prizes after learning that *American Idol *season 2 runner-up Clay Aiken and his mother were gifted cars from production. Aiken had lost the top spot to Ruben Studdard in 2003.

"Clay Aiken, who didn't win the second season, got a car and his mom," the "Behind These Hazel Eyes" singer said. "I was like, what the f---? I remember Clay telling me that the second season. He was like, 'Yeah, they gave my mom one.' I was like, 'I'm gonna actually kick your a-- right now.'"

As for Rausch, his payday may be imminent. *The Traitors *season 3 winner Gabby Windey, who triumphed alongside fellow Faithfuls Dylan Efron, Dolores Catania, and Lord Ivar Mountbatten, experienced delays receiving her winnings, too.

Former morning television queen Kathie Lee Gifford has sensed a disturbance in contemporary media — particularly on *The View*.

In a new conversation with divisive conservative personality Tomi Lahren, the 72-year-old *Live* and *Today* alum spoke out against the current status of broadcast TV, saying she's noticed a marked change in the disposition of those on the small screen now versus at the height of her popularity. When the host asked Gifford if she thinks "we're more divided now," Gifford replied, "There's just more of us."

"There are more people now, and we're meaner," she said. "People would at least pretend to have manners [back then]. Now, there's a viciousness."

Gifford added that she "used to be able to go on *The View* and talk to Joy [Behar] and Whoopi [Goldberg], a lot of the other people."

"Debbie Matenopoulos and I are still good pals," she said, referencing one of the OG panelists who helped launch the show with Barbara Walters in 1997.

"I never had a problem with anybody, because they weren't trying to proselytize everything," Gifford said. "I share my faith, but I don't say, 'You're going to go to hell.' I don't do that. I want people to have a little bit more heaven in their life than hell."

Lahren then revealed that she thinks *The View* is "a much different show" than it was when she was younger and a viewer, and that "ABC in general is a much different network" than it was in the early '00s.

"But you know what I mean then about the viciousness," Gifford said. "That part has changed. And it's sad. Everybody seems like they're just miserable people now. I may *make* people miserable, just talking the way we're talking, but nobody will ever confuse me for a miserable person. I have joy personified, the joy of the lord is your strength."

Gifford isn't the only celebrity to publicly speak out against *The View*'s current lineup. In addition to Elisabeth Hasselbeck publicly calling out Behar in January 2025 and former cohost Meghan McCain regularly slamming the show, on Monday, Oscar-winning actress Mo'Nique called out Goldberg over a 2018 interaction they had during an interview on the talk show.

"The worst part is that another woman chastised me on a platform meant to empower women," Mo'Nique said in an open letter addressed to Goldberg, in which she referenced an on-air moment that saw Goldberg push back against the star's long-voiced claim that the team behind the 2009 movie *Precious* wanted her to promote the project more than she was contractually obligated to.
