Kate Upton and Justin Verlander are sharing a look inside their colorful New York City abode!
The model, 33, and the baseball player, 43, opened the doors to their newly renovated apartment overlooking Central Park for a video tour with Architectural Digest published on March 13. The couple, who welcomed their second child together in June 2025, worked with interior designer John Ruggiero to bring their creative vision of bold patterns and colors to life inside their abode.
Standing in the vibrant living room adorned with pink walls and statement decor pieces, Verlander reveals the nickname they created for their home as it mostly reflects Upton's design style.
"This is Kate's place — she had full design control. A lot of people call it a She Shed, but we call this her Shenthouse," he jokes.
his wife of eight years agrees with a smile: "Yeah, I really made that statement by painting the whole thing pink."

Upton refers to the living room as "the fun room," as it's the space where the family likes to entertain and soak in the stunning city views.
"You have these beautiful views of Central Park, and we really wanted to bring that nature and those colors of the sunset into the apartment," she says. "As a fashion model, golden hour is very important. So I hope that you feel golden hour in this room."
Viewers are then brought into the vintage-inspired theater room through rich gold velvet curtains that connect to the living room.
We wanted this to really feel like an old Hollywood screening movie room," Upton says. "It's very Art Deco, if you look at the ceiling, and all this wainscoting that we added to make this feel like the apartment's been here for a while, even though it's a new build."
Verlander notes that the space was originally a formal dining room, but they thought a movie theater would serve their family's needs better.

"We don't live in New York like that," he says, noting that they usually go out to dinner when they're in the city. "We wanted to have a place that was comfortable, that we can lounge in and watch movies with the kids. And that's what we did."
Another gem in the space is the art Verlander had commissioned. The 3D piece features some of Upton's favorite photos and covers that she's appeared in set on mini billboards in Times Square. Her husband said he got it as a gift for his wife since she "loves the city so much."

In the kitchen, the couple went with a completely different color palette as Upton notes she's a big fan of both pink and green. A deep green covers the cabinetry and walls, while the gold and green floral wallpaper adds a "glam" pop to the space.
"We really use this as the heart of the home," Verlander says of the kitchen, as Upton chimes in, "This is where we're pretty much eating every meal."
While the primary bedroom sticks to the colorful theme, they went with blue for the walls but brought the pink and green hues back in through the bed frame and carpet.

"We very much were like, 'Why do the kids have all the fun with their bedrooms?' We wanted color, and we wanted fun too. And we wanted that experience in the primary," The Other Woman actress says.
While speaking about the space's design style, the couple reveal one major addition to the room that made a big difference for them: a bedroom door.
"We used a shower curtain," Verlander says of the room's pre-renovation layout. Upton adds, "Yes, and that was the only way to black out our room. So we felt really excited when we got a door to our bedroom."
