Look, I am no math major. Or *any* major, for that matter. My super weird college, Sarah Lawrence, didn't even *have* majors. So maybe that is why I am so flummoxed. The next episode of *Survivor 50* will begin on day 12 of the game, which means there are 17 players left, with only 15 days left to play. (Someone double-check my math real quick. Again… not a math major.)
Even with Kyle's unexpected injury and last week's double elimination, we still remain at critical mass, and by my (completely untrustworthy) calculations, that means they need to get rid of 14 players in the next 14 days for a final three on day 26. But how?!?!?!?!?
The show teased some sort of big twist at this week's merge. Could that be a Red Wedding type of situation, where a bunch of contestants are cut at once? (I actually pitched that to Jeff Probst a few years back, where they would bring back 50 players for season 50, but half of them would be cut at the very first immunity challenge. He rightly, and respectfully, turned that down.)

Could they do a version of what *Australian Survivor* did a few weeks back and send a bunch of people to some sort of Exile or Redemption Island situation, but this time only one person wins their way back and the others are all eliminated? Or could they take a page from *The Traitors* (Jeff's favorite book, I hear!) and just cut a player a day for the remainder of the season? (The unfortunate norm for a lot of shows now.)
I saw Chrissy mention that even the contestants during the game were trying to figure out how it would all work. Whatever the plan, it must involve a lot of carnage, and carnage is good. But beyond wondering how they will get rid of that many people in that little time, I also wonder how the show will manage to keep those non-game-related camp life moments with presumably so much elimination-based (and Mr. Beast!) content to get through. That will be the juggling act for *Survivor 50* post-merge, and I am excited to see how (and if) they can pull it off.
Okay, let's open up this week's *Survivor 50* Mystery Box, as we unveil some rad behind-the-scenes photos and video, and a big-time fan favorite also weighs in with her take on everything that went down last week.

Angelina negotiates
Angelina Keeley was one of the people I was most looking forward to seeing this season, so her elimination last week was a bummer of epic proportions. But to celebrate her stay on *Survivor 50,* and perhaps grant her a little screen time that the edit did not, here's one for the road below.
After the first immunity challenge, Angelina was up to her old tricks, attempting to trade the fishing gear her tribe won for a new tarp. It was a classic Angelina negotiation, giving the people what they wanted! But would Probst give the tribe what *they* wanted? I have to say, I think the way the host handled this was pretty funny, and I was shocked when it didn't make the episode, figuring there must be another negotiation down the line instead. Nope. So enjoy this super fun back-and-forth between host and player below.
The art of Survivor
I've been on location 21 times for *Survivor*, but walking through the art department never gets old. The amount of thought, care, creativity, and precision that goes into every little thing you see on the show is stunning. I've been on other reality competition sets, and *nothing* comes close to *Survivor*. You honestly can't even compare them. It is so much of what makes *Survivor* the gold standard of the genre.
Anyway, just walking around by giant puzzles still being painted, statues for Tribal Council, immunity idols sitting on tables, even tribe flags, baskets, bags, bowls, and other things that don't start with the letter B stacked up in shelves — it's like being a kid in a candy store. And I will never stop being that kid. Enjoy a few shots below.

Kelley Wentworth weighs in
Kelley Wentworth has something to say. And it is often accompanied by all manner of wigs, hats, beards, and other accessories on her hilarious Instagram feed. But the fan favorite is also a hell of a *Survivor* player, so we welcomed her with open arms as this week's former contestant to weigh in on all the latest action. Who will she designate as her official winner and losers of the week? Watch the video below to find out!
The last word(s)
An outtake that did not make it into my pre-game interview with Angelina:
"I am going to come in and I'm not going to have Tony Vlachos in the back of my mind as my North Star of I need to do Spy Shacks and I need to get fancy with it. The fanciness and the frills that will just come naturally from playing. I don't need to force any of that. I need to just play like me, and the me that's arriving now at 35 is what I feel is the best version that I've ever been of myself. I feel calm, I feel happy. I feel aligned with everything I'm doing in my life. I feel joyful. I feel grateful to be here. And I just want to have fun. And I just want to kill it too. I want to be a joyful warrior out there. And honestly, if I can pull this out, if I can win, besides having my kids, it would be the honor of my life to carry the crown of 50."

An outtake that did not make it into my pre-game interview with Charlie, on if the three *Survivor 46* players would be seen as a threat:
"It's certainly something I'm thinking of, because it's just an easy thing to say, 'There's three of 'em, get rid of the one on our tribe, yada, yada, yada. They're going to go meet up together at the merge and they'll have numbers, whatever.' But I'm hoping it's not going to be too big a threat, largely because there's just so many season overlaps out here. I was doing it out in my notebook. It's like most of the cast is a season overlap. I think there's four people who were properly on a solo season, and everyone else has someone that they've played with before."

The one thing I want to see from all my *Survivor* players is that they care deeply. So when they are devastated over being eliminated, I revel not in their misery, but greatly appreciate the display of their honest emotions. Which is why Charlie burying his head in his hands during his final words makes our Screenshot of the Week.
