There's a new sweet transvestite from transsexual Transylvania over at the Frankenstein place. And while audiences may still have to wait a few months to see Luke Evans stalking the Studio 54 stage as Frank-N-Furter in the Roundabout Theatre Company's Broadway revival of Richard O'Brien's *The Rocky Horror Show, *you don't have to do the Time Warp to get your first look and listen of the star crooning out the classics. That's because ** has your exclusive first footage of Evans belting out "I'm Going Home" in an intimate rehearsal, and you can watch it in the video above.
The footage shows Evans working with *Rocky Horror* director Sam Pinkleton (a Tony winner for *Oh, Mary!*) in a London studio, and as Pinkleton exclaims after hearing Evans put his own spin on the tender ballad, "It's a doozy."

With the aid of a pianist, Evans and Pinkleton work their way not just through the technical aspects of the song, but the meaning behind it as well. "It's your final statement," notes the director.
Of course, the song was first made famous by original Frank-N-Furter Tim Curry, who played the cross-dressing icon in both the original 1973 London stage show as well as the 1975 movie. The camptastic film (rechristened *The Rocky Horror Picture Show*) flopped upon its initial release yet then became a midnight screening sensation that is still playing in theaters across the country over 50 years later. There have also been occasional revivals including a 2000 Broadway production (with Tom Hewitt in the role of Frank-N-Furter) and an underwhelming 2016 Fox TV film version starring Laverne Cox.

"It is music to my ears to hear that a cast of very fine actors is on its way to NYC in order to play let's dress-up and make-believe, sing and dance and uplift the hearts of all those who enjoy the gift of free-thinking and the pleasure of love," said *Rocky Horror* creator Richard O'Brien in a press release announcing Evans' original casting as the latest wild and untamed thing to take on the role. "Break out the fishnets and let's have a party."
