The comedian shares that there's more to his daughter Scottie's name than just being a tribute to his late father, Scott
Davidson and girlfriend Elsie Hewitt welcomed their daughter Scottie Rose in December
Pete Davidson's inspiration for his daughter's name didn't just come from his dad.
The comedian, 32, chatted about life as a new dad in an interview with Elite Daily, where he gave insight into how he and girlfriend Elsie Hewitt came up with the name for their little girl, Scottie Rose.
Davidson, who welcomed his first baby with Hewitt on Dec. 12, shared that in addition to being a tribute to his late father, Scott Matthew Davidson, a New York City firefighter who died while responding to the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the name Scottie has a second meaning.
"She was conceived in Scotland," Davidson told the outlet.
While Hewitt added that the couple "went through so many names," Scottie was a clear frontrunner. "We always knew that was the one we were going to come back to, because it was the most meaningful," she continued. "It's also so cute."

Scottie's middle name, Rose, also has a special connection to the family.
"My middle name is Rose, and both of my sisters' middle names are also Rose, because my mom's maiden name had Rose in it," Hewitt shared. "So I wanted to have a little special part of them in her name, too."
Hewitt and Davidson shared the news of their baby's arrival on Instagram nearly a week after her arrival.
"My best work yet, i am absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude and disbelief," the mom captioned the post, which featured several photos of the couple and their newborn.
"Wu tang forever," the SNL alum added.

After welcoming baby Scottie, Hewitt had a rough few days, revealing on her Instagram Stories that she needed dental surgery to remove a wisdom tooth shortly after giving birth.
"Who else had to get a wisdom tooth removed directly from the hospital the day after they gave birth," she wrote over a selfie of herself and her daughter in the back of the car.
On Dec. 26, she showed off her post-baby body with a bathroom mirror selfie in which she wore a black T-shirt and a pair of postpartum underwear. She wrote over the image, "Adult diapers all day (& night)."
"My sister asked me if I pee in them & if ur wondering the same thing the answer is NO LMAO," she added.
