A COUPLE have been in a high-speed chase to help two bobbies after a handcuffed prisoner nicked their patrol automotive.

David and Elizabeth Wills have been passing in Cumbria and gave chase with a cop within the back.
Businessman Mr Wills, 43, of Lytham St Annes, Lancs, stated: "The officers seemed shell-shocked, one was completely dazed at the roadside. I stated to the opposite 'Get in, you're going to lose your automotive'.
"He acquired into the again seat and we followed the police automotive which had been driving onto the M6 south at about 120mph.
"We couldn't quite consider what was occurring. At occasions it was like being in a Carry On film.
"Once we arrived, this guy was beating the 2 cops black and blue.
"One of many officers obtained out a can of pepper spray however ended up spraying all three of them, they have been all gasping and badly affected by it.
"One officer managed to handcuff the man but the other was in the midst of the street, completely dazed."
George acquired away but has now been jailed for 14 months.
