The five-week-old was allegedly murdered by his mum Kayleigh Driver, 31, and pop Michael Davis, 29, at his house in Leicester.

Jurors heard they found the Ollie lifeless in his crib on October 21, 2017, earlier than the tot was rushed to hospital.

Sadly he couldn't be saved and was declared lifeless shortly after from the "delayed results of a damaged neck".

Medics also found the child had 37 fractures in complete – together with 23 rib fractures – and bleeding on the brain.

The court was informed these have been inflicted over numerous overlapping time-frames of as much as ten days before dying.

Ollie's neck damage brought on his spinal twine to compress – main the child to cease respiration.

Jonas Hankin KC stated he was subjected to serious physical abuse "probably to have taken place over the past 10 days of his life".

The prosecutor added: "The nature of these accidents is such that multiple mechanisms have been required to cause them.

"Severe compressive pressure is required to trigger the rib fractures.

"These injuries and the events that prompted them could not have taken place in a single episode of violence."

Davis and Driver deny inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, inflicting or permitting a toddler to endure critical physical harm, inflicting or allowing the demise of a child and homicide.

The trial continues.
