Google has since added that the platform will be a part of the app graveyard in April – leaving US-based Google Podcasts followers with just over 4 months to migrate to YouTube Music.

Google& has stated it is going to assist podcast creators with the change, so users will probably still have access to the familiar titles they've grown to like.

In a YouTube blog post, the corporate wrote: "We can be discontinuing Google Podcasts in the US as early as April 2024.

"To make this transition as seamless as potential, right now we'll start rolling out a device that permits Google Podcast listeners in the US to migrate their subscriptions from Google Podcasts to YouTube Music or export them for use in other podcast apps.

"We'll share more about Google Podcasts' availability and the discharge of this migration software for other nations soon."

The tech big has but to make a press release addressing UK users, although the app is more likely to disappear at the similar time.

'Nothing shocking'

The transfer to axe Google Podcasts types part of efforts to show& YouTube& into an all-in-one vacation spot for podcasts, music and video.

It additionally follows the demise knell for Google Play Music, which was shut down in December 2020.

Followers are gutted to see the podcasts& app go, with many preferring to keep them in a separate to their music.

"I don't care if I sound like a grandpa. Why does each music service so desperately need me to take heed to podcasts of their app?," one consumer& wrote& on X (formerly& Twitter) shortly after the September announcement.

"I don't need to use my music app for podcasts. I would like them separate. It's higher when they are separate."

One other wrote: "We beloved Google Play Music, it was transformed to YouTube Music.

"Now Google Podcast helps background play (No subscription wanted). We'll be pressured to subscribe to YouTube Music."

"Nothing shocking. It's Google. They love to shut down things which people like,"& said& a 3rd disenchanted consumer.

While Google has provided up YouTube Music in its place, customers are contemplating shifting over to& Apple& and& Spotify's& podcast choices.

Some have even made the change already.

"Truthfully, I haven't touched Google Podcasts ever since Spotify upped its podcast recreation," senior editor at 9to5Google, Ben Schoon,& wrote.

"It's a shame to see it closing although, because it was a great podcast app."

One other individual& tweeted: "So glad I left that app and moved to Apple Podcasts lol."

Although, some users are quite eager on the concept of an all-in-one app.

"Superb! Having two apps when issues can naturally match into one is devastating and cluttering," one consumer& tweeted.

"Excited to check out podcasts in YouTube Music :)."
