THE dad of a missing two-year-old boy jumped right into a fast-flowing river in a determined try and rescue the toddler.

Emergency services attended the scene just after 5pm yesterday and a search and rescue operation started in Aylestone Meadows, close to Marsden Lane.
Police stated a man was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Assistant Chief Constable Michaela Kerr later confirmed it was the boy's dad.
He's stated to have adopted the boy into the river however was unable to retrieve him.
The child's family are being supported by specialist officers.
A dog walker who walked along the footpath close to the Packhorse Bridge at round 5pm has additionally been asked to contact police.

Dog-walker Christian Ewings, 31, stated this morning: "There's been emergency providers all over the place, all last night time and this morning, we're simply praying he's found.
"The family have to be frantic with worry, it's each mother or father's worst nightmare.
"You just can't even think about what they are going by way of.
"The river may be notably dangerous and fast-flowing when flooded. It does get quite dangerous.
"Apparently some relations went into the water themselves but he'd disappeared.
"I feel everyone is simply utterly numb in the meanwhile."
An extended-standing resident whose residence overlooks Aylestone Meadows stated flooding from the River Soar in current weeks had left elements of the character reserve in a treacherous state.
She stated a helicopter had initially flown over the world for around an hour after reviews a two-year-old baby had gone missing and should have fallen within the river.
The resident informed reporters: "It appeared to be there for a very long time hovering.
"It felt as if it was above my home. The lights have been on and it didn't transfer for about an hour or so."
The lady, who walks recurrently in the area, stated a close-by canal and the river typically "go into one" throughout peak flooding durations.
"It's quick flowing," she stated of present circumstances.
"It's been fairly dangerous.
"It's devastating to assume how they (relations) have to be feeling."
Leicestershire Police yesterday stated: "Our ideas are with them at this extraordinarily troublesome time.
