The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman has stated that she used gravy as pretend tan in an episode of the smash BBC competition.

Showing on comedy panel present Would I Lie To You last week, the presenter, 52, revealed how she as soon as used the condiment to prime up her tan.

Recognized for her iconic fringe and strikingly eccentric fashion sense, Winkleman appeared on group captain David Mitchell's group alongside comedian Babatunde Al̩sh̩ Рand was quizzed on her outrageous claim by the opposing group, led by Lee Mack and comedians Mike Bubbins and Jessica Knappett.

Winkleman kicked off the episode's lie-based festivities by claiming that she once used gravy granules as pretend tan throughout an episode of The Traitors.

But was this fact or a lie?

'I didn't have it because I used to be in the citadel,' Winkleman stated, referring to the distant Andross Fort in Scotland, the place the competition is filmed.

In accordance with Winkleman, a member of the group then visited a close-by shop – leaving teammates reeling on the revelation that the supposedly faraway fort has an area shop.

When pressed on the brand of the gravy, Winkleman stated: 'I don't assume I'm allowed to say a brand but, yeah, granules.'

Whereas she didn't specify whether this was through the show's first or second collection, she did say that it occurred around episode five – as she'd had a sprig tan for the earlier four.

'Round desk, in you go…' she advised host Rob Brydon. 'You're sporting tweed, what do you need? Right, granules.'

Whereas her claims of outlets and gravy granules had Lee Mack satisfied that she was telling a porkie, the host revealed that she had, finally, been telling the truth.

This is not the primary time that infamous pretend tan fan Winkleman has admitted to utilizing unconventional methods of staying bronze.

Appearing on a TikTik with SheerLuxe in January, the star revealed that she 'will use something' to realize her signature look.

'I have used Bisto granules. I have used previous tea luggage,' she added.

These revelations come in the wake of the UK reality competition's second collection, which noticed 22-year-old army engineer Harry Clark lie and sneak his way to victory – scoring himself a whopping jackpot of £95,150.

Would I Lie To You is out there to observe on BBC iPlayer.
