- *Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man *marks the return of several beloved characters, including Cillian Murphy's Tommy Shelby.

- One major absence is Tommy's older brother, Arthur Shelby Jr.

- His shocking fate is revealed early in the film.

It's been a long wait, but the Peaky Blinders are back.

On March 20, Netflix released *Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man*, picking up the story with Cillian Murphy returning as Tommy Shelby, still as sharp (and dangerous) as ever. The sequel film sees plenty of fan-favorite characters return to the fold, but one absence is impossible to ignore: Arthur Shelby Jr., Tommy's hotheaded older brother and longtime right-hand man.

Paul Anderson played Arthur across all six seasons of the series, and the character was still very much alive when it wrapped in 2022. But the film jumps ahead a few years, and a lot can change in that time.

Here's everything you need to know about what happened to Arthur and why he isn't in *Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man*.

What happened to Arthur in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man?

*Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man *begins with the news that Arthur Shelby Jr. is dead.

The 1940-set film shows Tommy visiting his older brother's grave, revealing that Arthur died in 1938.

At first, it's believed that Arthur died by suicide. That's the story throughout town, and even the medium Kaulo (Rebecca Ferguson) tells Tommy that people think Arthur "took his own life on the bridge."

But the reality is far worse, and it haunts Tommy throughout the film — it was him who killed Arthur.

Tommy explains that a fight broke out when Arthur asked him for money, which escalated during a confrontation in a car. A struggle broke out and Tommy's gun went off, accidentally killing Arthur.

'Peaky Blinders' creator on whether this is the end of Tommy Shelby: 'He may come back'

'Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man' ending explained: Who lives? Who dies? How's Tommy?

And yet even that isn't the full truth. Later, Tommy confesses to the corpse of his sister, Ada (Sophie Thorne), saying, "I killed our brother Arthur. It wasn't an accident. It wasn't an act of mercy. I killed him because I was full of booze and rage."

In a flashback, we see Tommy deliberately strangling Arthur. "I had a moment where I could've spared him," he says, but admits he didn't because he "wanted to be free of him."

"Here's a man who spent his life protecting family. Everything was about family. The reason he gave for the bad things he did is because it was good for the family," *Peaky Blinders *creator Steven Knight previously told **. "So this has broken all of his own codes."

What has Paul Anderson said about Arthur Shelby's death?

Fans have had mixed feelings about Arthur's fate, but Anderson didn't seem bothered in a chat with LADbible.

"Well, what can you do, eh? It is how it is. I thought I'd just leave them to it. I think it's great," he said.

Anderson admitted he was a bit hesitant about making a film. "I thought we should've just done a couple more seasons, and I didn't see a reason to do a film, to be honest."

Still, Anderson said he was happy with how Arthur's story turned out. "I mean, it's such a powerful thing to do. It's something you don't see on TV," he explained. "Everyone thought, well, everyone knows Arthur's gonna die. I was quite surprised, I was quite nasty sometimes, I weren't very nice to people in it. But people loved me."

Where can I watch Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man?

Vince Vaughn is open to causing some more chaos in a *Wedding Crashers* sequel.

The star shared his thoughts about a potential follow-up to the 2005 raunchy comedy after his castmate Isla Fisher recently commented on rumors about a sequel. Vaughn revealed that "there's always been discussions" for a second movie, although none had panned out.

"I would," Vaughn told *E! News**.* "You know, if there's a good story, it's always fun to do something, but I think you'd need a really good idea and not just jump into it."

The actor, who led numerous R-rated comedies in the early aughts like *Dodgeball* and *Couples Retreat*, said he's been asked to do sequels in the past. While he didn't reveal which other movies were up for a revival, Vaughn shared he hasn't done one yet. He emphasized the importance of getting a quality script for a second *Wedding Crashers*.

"It could be fun to get back with those guys if everything worked out," he said, referring to the star-studded cast that included the likes of Fisher, Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Bradley Cooper, and Christopher Walken.

Fisher recently shared that her favorite part of filming the movie was hanging out with Walken, with whom she said she became close. She recently told PEOPLE that the *Pulp Fiction* actor was "so inspiring" and shared his feminist beliefs with her.

"Christopher Walken I remember saying on that set that there would be no world wars if women were in positions of power, held more positions of power," she said.

The *Confessions of a Shopaholic* actress said she wasn't aware of any sequel plans for *Wedding Crashers,* although she mused that "maybe there will be." As for Vaughn, he said he's unsure where his nuptials-crashing character Jeremy would be today.

"Who knows?" he said. "Yeah, could be a lot of different places. You never know in life where roads take you."

It was a choice that divided a fanbase: Team Edward or Team Jacob?

Back in 2008, when the pop culture phenomenon known as *Twilight* began its world domination, the film's stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner were pitted against each other, both onscreen (in the battle for Bella's heart) and off, as fans also picked sides.

Eighteen years later, it still haunts Pattinson.

While in Paris promoting *The Drama*, a reporter for France's Canal+ brought up the age-old question to his co-star Zendaya. "I'm Team Edward all day, let's go," she replied, without hesitation.

The reporter then posed the question to Pattinson, who immortalized vampire Edward Cullen in all five *Twilight* films. "No one's Team Jacob," he quipped, waving his hand for effect. "That was just a marketing thing."

But it was a real allegiance for the female reporter. "I was," she tells Pattinson, who rolls his eyes playfully. "Sorry."

It's not the first time someone has admitted to Pattinson's face they weren't Team Edward.

"Team Edward or Team Jacob?" Pattinson asked. Lawrence took a moment to ponder, and then delivered the news gently. "In the books, Jacob," she confessed. "In the movie, Edward."

Pattinson himself wasn't always Team Edward. While promoting *New Moon* in 2009, he told *OK!* magazine: "You always get weirdos like Edward who seem to attract women for some reason. If Edward wasn't a fictional character and you met him in reality, he is like one of those guys who would probably be an axe murderer or something."

NEW YORK − Alison Brie is ready to show her dark side.

The actress and producer rose to fame on the quirky NBC sitcom "Community," starring as Annie Edison opposite actors like Joel McHale and Donald Glover. Now, she's ready for a hard pivot, playing Evil-Lyn, supervillain Skeletor's right-hand woman in "Masters of the Universe."

"I was really excited to get to play a supervillain," she says. "I watched a bunch of the old cartoon and she really is like a classic femme fatale character, but with a sense of humor. Just unlike anything I've ever really done."

"A lot of the work that I've done, everything is about reality," Brie says. In "Masters," she adds, "The whole point is that everybody is larger than life—some people physically, this character more just in her evilness. It was so fun to work on, and the cast is great."

The cast features up-and-comers and established A-listers, including Jared Leto, Idris Elba, Camila Mendes and Nicholas Galitzine.

Brie, 43, is fresh off a shoot with husband and fellow actor Dave Franco for the 2025 body horror flick "Together." The title says it all.

"When Dave and I shot 'Together', it truly was just the two of us… like 90% of the shoot was Dave and I, all day everyday," she says. "Universe," she says, is "the opposite" and an "expanse into this new world."

Dave Franco and Alison Brie attend the world premiere of Disney and Pixar's "Hoppers" at El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles on Feb. 23, 2026.

Though Franco will be absent from set, that won't mean a lack of togetherness for the couple, who wed in 2017.

"Dave and I prioritize quality time so much in our relationship," she says, so much so that "dilutes" the importance of a major holiday like Valentine's Day anniversaries, she says. "Most years, and I'm not kidding, Dave's mom texts us happy anniversary, and then that's how we both remember."

Alison Brie attends the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on March 15, 2026, in Los Angeles.

Alison Brie's date nights with Dave Franco

If they're not big on milestones, how about date night? "Truly, his dream is a home-cooked meal by me, and then we just watch a movie," says Brie, who is launching a new partnership with meal-kit company HelloFresh. What might Dave chef up for her? "Dave does not cook. Period," she says with a chuckle. "He would say the same thing."

That's a wrap on the 2026 Oscar race! Awards season came to an end on March 15 with the 98th Academy Awards, where "One Battle After Another" was crowned best picture in a competitive race with "Sinners." Leading up to Hollywood's biggest night, Oscar hopefuls spent the first half of March stepping out at star-studded events, from the Actor Awards to the Writers Guild Awards.Scroll through for the best celebrity photos of March 2026 so far, starting with, from left, Jessie Buckley, Michael B. The couple loves to host friends. "I spend so much time traveling for work, when I'm home, the way that I like to fill up my cup, especially when I'm feeling really depleted, is spending time with friends," she says. But, she adds, "the prep gives me anxiety." Her campaign with HelloFresh aims to help solve that; her personally curated menu, was born out of a desire for "community and ease" and includes meals she actually plans to make the week of the launch.

She's hosted some memorable and star-studded dinner parties.

"Years ago, when I was on 'Community' I ended up having an impromptu get together at my house, and QuestLove made an appearance, and I remember at one point looking over, the guests are mingling, having drinks, and Questlove is like drumming on the coffee table, and I was like 'this is a cool party,'" she says.

Her and Franco's ideal recipe for a night in doesn't require any star-power though, she says.

"We really are such homebodies," Brie insists. "And the most lowkey people you can imagine."
