Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos got into the thick of slick, slimy, bizarre snail sex on Tuesday's episode of *Live With Kelly & Mark*.
The celebrity couple and *Live* cohosts kicked off the latest edition of the talk show by investigating the wild romping habits of mollusks, with Ripa singling out a poor lad named Ned, whose shell prevents him from finding a proper mate.
"Ned has a problem," Ripa told her audience, as she held up a photo of the adorable little chap making his way across a leaf.
Ripa explained that Ned "has a rare shell, and he is doomed to have no love life" because of it.

"He's having trouble finding dates because, the way his shell is tilted, it coils to the left, not the right, making him one in 40,000 snails whose sex organs don't line up with the rest of the species," Ripa said. "He has to find another lefty snail so he can mate!"
She then joked that "his quest for true love is predictably slow," before questioning the physical mechanisms of the species' mating ritual.
"Now, looking at this, here, aren't you wondering how it happens entirely, right? What I want to know is, who's the top?" Ripa said, while producer Michael Gelman could be heard exclaiming off camera, "Or the side? Who's the side?"
Mark Consuelos once took his toddler son to Hooters: 'That was crazy,' Kelly Ripa said

Consuelos ended the segment with a public call to action for viewers at home: "If you have a lefty snail, let us know and we'll make a match."
Ripa and Consuelos' own sex life often takes center stage on *Live *— as in a recent interview with *Shrinking* actress Christa Miller.

"I have something to say. I watch this show, I'm a fan," Miller said as she took her seat next to the cohosts. She then referenced a past discussion Consuelos and Ripa had on the air: "Mark, I'm going to say this with love. There's no morning sex. No one likes it. And not even on the weekends."
"I've got to tell you, this job has really gotten in the way of that. It's been the antidote for it," Consuelos replied, with Miller adding, "We also don't fall for the, 'I just want to cuddle you' in the morning."
