The Real Housewives of New Jersey is officially set to return after nearly two years of uncertainty.

On Tuesday, March 24, Bravo revealed that the franchise is set to begin filming season 15 this spring. It will feature familiar faces Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga and Dolores Catania, along with new cast members who have not yet been announced.

The popular series has been on pause for almost two years after the season 14 reunion was canceled in June 2024 due to longstanding rifts among costars Giudice, Gorga, Catania, Margaret Josephs, Jennifer Aydin, Danielle Cabral, Rachel Fuda, Jackie Goldschneider and Jenn Fessler.

"A reunion is meant to have resolution and it's clear in the season finale that there is no path forward in that type of setting," an insider familiar with the situation told PEOPLE at the time. "So the network is figuring out a different concept to wrap up the season."

Hours before the show's return was announced, Josephs confirmed her exit after seven seasons. In a video posted on Instagram, she said while the news "might come as a little surprise" to fans, it's been a long time coming for her.

"I've been thinking about a lot of different things and I am moving on from the Housewives of New Jersey ...," she explained. "I've been in the talks with the network and Andy [Cohen] since December, we've discussed it, and I think the timing is right."

"A lot of things have changed in my life," she continued. "I've been blessed to work on a different project, I'm on the set right now, and I realized I have to spend more time with my family, work on my designing and just take a break and move on."

Josephs went on to thank Bravo, Cohen and the other teams involved in RHONJ and gave a shoutout to the cast. "The good and the bad, I really do love you all," she noted, promising that she will be back on fans' screens "very, very soon" thanks to the new project she's currently filming, which she said she's "very grateful for."

"This will not be the last you guys see of me on television — that's not a threat, it's a promise," she added.

Over the past couple years, Cohen has been open about his desire to make changes for season 15 of RHONJ. In 2024, he addressed future plans when a fan suggested they "bring fresh faces in" like they did for The Real Housewives of New York season 14.

"We're gonna figure something out," he said on his radio show at the time. "We're gonna figure something out. We are all on the same page about that."

At BravoCon 2025 in November, Catania admitted that she was "afraid to ask" Cohen about when cameras would be picking back up "because he looks pissed off that people are asking him."

"They wanna get it right, and I can almost appreciate that," she said. "But I don't want to be away much longer." She added that fans are "missing out on things" as more time goes by between filming.
