- *Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man *marks the return of several beloved characters, including Cillian Murphy's Tommy Shelby.

- One major absence is Tommy's older brother, Arthur Shelby Jr.

- His shocking fate is revealed early in the film.

It's been a long wait, but the Peaky Blinders are back.

On March 20, Netflix released *Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man*, picking up the story with Cillian Murphy returning as Tommy Shelby, still as sharp (and dangerous) as ever. The sequel film sees plenty of fan-favorite characters return to the fold, but one absence is impossible to ignore: Arthur Shelby Jr., Tommy's hotheaded older brother and longtime right-hand man.

Paul Anderson played Arthur across all six seasons of the series, and the character was still very much alive when it wrapped in 2022. But the film jumps ahead a few years, and a lot can change in that time.

Here's everything you need to know about what happened to Arthur and why he isn't in *Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man*.

What happened to Arthur in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man?

Paul Anderson as Arthur Shelby Jr. and Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby on 'Peaky Blinders'

Paul Anderson as Arthur Shelby Jr. and Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby on 'Peaky Blinders'.

*Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man *begins with the news that Arthur Shelby Jr. is dead.

The 1940-set film shows Tommy visiting his older brother's grave, revealing that Arthur died in 1938.

At first, it's believed that Arthur died by suicide. That's the story throughout town, and even the medium Kaulo (Rebecca Ferguson) tells Tommy that people think Arthur "took his own life on the bridge."

But the reality is far worse, and it haunts Tommy throughout the film — it was him who killed Arthur.

Tommy explains that a fight broke out when Arthur asked him for money, which escalated during a confrontation in a car. A struggle broke out and Tommy's gun went off, accidentally killing Arthur.

'Peaky Blinders' creator on whether this is the end of Tommy Shelby: 'He may come back'

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. Cillian Murphy as Tommy in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.

'Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man' ending explained: Who lives? Who dies? How's Tommy?

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.

And yet even that isn't the full truth. Later, Tommy confesses to the corpse of his sister, Ada (Sophie Thorne), saying, "I killed our brother Arthur. It wasn't an accident. It wasn't an act of mercy. I killed him because I was full of booze and rage."

In a flashback, we see Tommy deliberately strangling Arthur. "I had a moment where I could've spared him," he says, but admits he didn't because he "wanted to be free of him."

"Here's a man who spent his life protecting family. Everything was about family. The reason he gave for the bad things he did is because it was good for the family," *Peaky Blinders *creator Steven Knight previously told **. "So this has broken all of his own codes."

What has Paul Anderson said about Arthur Shelby's death?

Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby and Paul Anderson as Arthur Shelby Jr. on 'Peaky Blinders'.

Fans have had mixed feelings about Arthur's fate, but Anderson didn't seem bothered in a chat with LADbible.

"Well, what can you do, eh? It is how it is. I thought I'd just leave them to it. I think it's great," he said.

Anderson admitted he was a bit hesitant about making a film. "I thought we should've just done a couple more seasons, and I didn't see a reason to do a film, to be honest."

Still, Anderson said he was happy with how Arthur's story turned out. "I mean, it's such a powerful thing to do. It's something you don't see on TV," he explained. "Everyone thought, well, everyone knows Arthur's gonna die. I was quite surprised, I was quite nasty sometimes, I weren't very nice to people in it. But people loved me."

Where can I watch Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man?

Marcia Ann Burrs, the veteran actress whose decades-long career included roles on TV shows like *Young Sheldon* and *It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia* and in two Hallmark movies, died Sunday at 85.

Her family said in a death notice that Burrs died peacefully while surrounded by loved ones. A cause of death was not specified.

Joking that Burrs never considered herself a day over 39, her family described her as a "much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, and lifelong performer" who "lived with heart, humor, creativity, and an unapologetic toughness that brought authenticity to every role she played on screen and in life."

Born Marcia Hoffman on Nov. 25, 1940, in Manila, she gravitated to the stage from a young age and went on to study drama at the College of William & Mary in Virginia. She later relocated to New York City, where she began taking roles in commercials, on soap operas, and on the stage.

After meeting and marrying Joseph Edward Bures, she took on the stage name Marcia Burrs and moved to California. A working actress with an impressive resume, Burrs made guest appearances on several popular shows, including *Moonlighting*, *7th Heaven*, *Will & Grace*, *Gilmore Girls*, *Frasier*, *Monk*, *The King of Queens*, *My Name Is Earl*, *Scrubs*, *Bones*, *Criminal Minds*, *How I Met Your Mother*, and* Grey's Anatomy*.

In a fan-favorite season 2 episode of *It's Always Sunny*, Burrs appeared as Angie Spinola, the former high school girlfriend of Danny DeVito's Frank. Years later, she guested on *Young Sheldon* as Betty, a cousin of Meemaw (Annie Potts) known for giving cheap gifts.

On the big screen, Burrs had roles in the Jennifer Aniston-led rom com *Rumor Has It* and Sofia Coppola's* The Bling Ring*.

Hallmark Channel

Burrs was perhaps most recognizable for her role as Mrs. Claus in the beloved Hallmark holiday films *Single Santa Seeks Mrs. Claus* and its sequel *Meet the Santas*, which saw her star alongside Steve Guttenberg and Crystal Bernard.

Her death notice said that "though she loved performing, her favorite role was Mom — the one she cherished most. She taught her kids that life was limitless, rules were optional, and you could do anything. She lived it, she meant it, and she passed it on like a family superpower."

Burrs was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by two brothers, a sister, daughters Jennifer Martin and Diana Fuller, and grandsons Grant Joseph Fuller and Talon James Hartsell Fuller.

Put your dancing shoes on, because ** can exclusively report that George Miller's animated hit film *Happy Feet* will be bopping and swaying onto the stage in the form of a new theatrical musical now in development.

The original 2006 film featured a voice cast including Elijah Wood, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, Robin Williams, and Brittany Murphy. It told the story of a young emperor penguin named Mumble (Wood) who is ostracized due to his lack of singing ability, yet then overcomes obstacles and adversity through some extraordinarily enthusiastic tap dancing. (Again, he's a penguin.)

The movie was a major hit, winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature while earning over $384 million worldwide (with $198 million of that coming from the United States). It also spawned a 2011 sequel titled *Happy Feet Two.*

Happy Feet (2006) Gloria (voiced BRITTANY MURPHY) and Mumble (voiced by ELIJAH WOOD) dance to the beat of Gloria's disco Heartsong

Gloria (voiced by Brittany Murphy) and Mumble (voiced by Elijah Wood) in 'Happy Feet'.

Its next stop will be as a musical for the stage, and there is an impressive group bringing it there. Tony Award-winning producer Dori Berinstein *(Legally Blonde, The Prom, Thoroughly Modern Millie) *has assembled a team that includes Tony Award-winning director Michael Arden (*Maybe Happy Ending, Parade*) and book writer Douglas Lyons (*Chicken & Biscuits, Fraggle Rock*).

As for how the penguins will be brought to life on stage, that remains to be seen, although puppet designer Basil Twist (who has worked on Broadway before on *Pee Wee Herman's Playhouse, The Addams Family, *and* Charlie & The Chocolate Factory)* is part of the creative team.

Obviously, choreography will be key in a show about a dancing penguin, and heading that up will be Ayodele Casel (*Funny Girl*) and the duo Lauren Yalango-Grant and Christopher "Cree" Grant (who have also been working on another new film-to-stage adaptation in *The Lost Boys).*

The *Happy Feet* film featured an eclectic soundtrack of hits originally performed by the likes of Prince, Elvis Presley, Stevie Wonder, Queen, and the Beach Boys, and it looks like much in the same way *Moulin Rouge* on Broadway took some songs from the film while adding a slew of other pop-culture classics, the new *Happy Feet* will also see a mix of tunes both old and new.

No word yet on when or where the *Happy Feet* musical will first hit the stage, but it is the latest theatrical project from Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, which also has current Broadway shows *The Lost Boys *and* **Dog Day Afternoon**,* as well as upcoming adaptations of *Crazy Rich Asians *and* Practical Magic.*

Might a stage version of another George Miller Warner Bros. film be next? *Furiosa: The Musical*, anyone?

Controversial South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham has been slammed by the public after photos circulated online showing the politician visiting Disney World while federal workers go unpaid during a partial government shutdown.

The criticism came after news outlet TMZ published several photos this week that showed the 70-year-old Republican at various locales around the Orlando-based resort, including Chef Mickey's restaurant at the Contemporary Resort, and inside the Magic Kingdom park.

Nodding to the lyrics found inside Disney's signature It's a Small World boat ride, one X user commented on TMZ's initial post, writing, "He's a small small Man..." while another wrote, "Priorities looking crazy. Senators out here enjoying Mickey Mouse while federal workers wait for paychecks."

Graham told TMZ that he "was invited to a meeting in South Florida on Friday with Trump official Steve Witkoff," during which he said they "spoke to talk about the possibility of normalization between Saudi Arabia and Israel."

He added, "I went to Orlando to meet friends after. I'm already back in South Carolina" and told the outlet that he "voted 7 times to fully fund the government. Call a Democrat."

Graham's office did not immediately respond to* '*s request for comment via phone or email.

Graham's Disney World visit came amid a partial government shutdown that previously resulted in Transportation Safety Administration officers going unpaid, all while Democrats and Republicans in the House of Representatives and Senate squabble over various issues.

Government agencies within the Department of Homeland Security, which includes TSA, have been shut down for over 45 days. The shutdown precludes U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the agency that has been at the center of much of the funding debate.

On Friday, President Donald Trump "ordered the Department of Homeland Security to pay TSA officers immediately to ease the lines plaguing airports," per the Associated Press.

Officials have received intense blowback from the public, including from celebrities and commentators like *The View'*s Ana Navarro and Whoopi Goldberg, who on Monday's episode of the talk show specifically called out elected politicians vacationing during the partial shutdown.

"Why do you get to go on spring break when people are not getting paid? I don't get that," Goldberg said, while Navarro later urged viewers to "go look up what your congressperson looks like, so if you see them in the airport on the way to the Caribbean or you see them at the airport on the way to Orlando, Disney World, you say hello to them."

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have broken their silence after their son Joseph Duggar was arrested and accused of molesting a child.

A spokesperson for the former stars of TLC's "19 Kids and Counting" told USA TODAY in a statement that "Jim Bob and Michelle are heartbroken over this entire situation."

"Right now, they are focused on loving their family and helping Kendra and her children during this difficult time. They are praying for the victim," the statement continued. "They ask for privacy and appreciate the kind words and prayers offered by so many."

Here's what to know.

Joseph and Kendra Duggar arrested, charged

On March 17, Joseph Duggar, 31, was arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior after being accused of molesting a 9-year-old girl in Panama City Beach, Florida, in 2020, the Bay County Sheriff's Office announced.

Days later, police in Arkansas also separately arrested Joseph Duggar's wife Kendra Duggar, 27, on child endangerment charges. Both Joseph and Kendra Duggar have been charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child and four counts of false imprisonment in Arkansas, the Tontitown Police Department announced March 20.

1 / 0See the Duggars, the polarizing family of TLC's '19 Kids and Counting'

Reality fans know the Duggars from their TLC show, "19 Kids and Counting," but the large conservative family has been thrust into further public spotlight with news that the seventh oldest of 19 siblings, Joseph Garrett Duggar, has been arrested and accused of molesting a child, authorities said in March 2026. The news comes nearly a decade after the oldest Duggar son, Josh, admitted to having molested five girls when he was a teenager. See their family's journey in photos. Michelle Duggar of Springdale, Arkansas, holds the newest addition to their family, their 16th child, Johannah Faith, while husband Jim Bob and their children look on, Oct. 11, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas. Johannah, one of 16 children who all have names beginning with the letter "J," was born at around 2 a.m.

Who are the Duggars?

Joseph, the seventh-eldest Duggar child, and Kendra, whose maiden name is Caldwell, have been married since 2017. They have three children together.

The Duggar family's ultra-conservative Christian lifestyle in rural Arkansas was the subject of the hit TLC series, which ran for seven years. It was canceled in 2015 after news broke that the oldest sibling, Josh Duggar, had molested four of his sisters and a babysitter when he was a teen.

Josh Duggar is currently serving a more than 12-year prison sentence for downloading and possessing child pornography in a separate case.

Jill Duggar Dillard, the fourth eldest in the family, and her husband Derick Dillard issued a statement on their blog on March 19.

"We first learned of anything related to his charges yesterday via a text from a friend who messaged us about the recent media reports of Joseph's arrest and his alleged confession to molesting a juvenile female in 2020," the Dillard family wrote. "We are shocked and heartbroken."

Jinger Duggar Vuolo, who is just over a year older than Joseph, addressed her brother's arrest during a March 25 episode of her podcast "Jinger & Jeremy."

"I did not think my heart could break like it has this week," she said. "The pain and heartbreak that we've had over this and just thinking of how it's affected so many — yeah, it's just unthinkable. It's so hard and painful on many levels."

Another sister, Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth, called the allegations against her brother "heartbreaking and deeply disturbing" in a March 26 Instagram story, E News and Entertainment Weekly reported.

She added, "My heart is with the victim, and I am grieved by the pain and harm caused. I have been a wreck this week and am taking time to process."

Jason Duggar, one of Joseph's younger brothers, and his wife Maddie published a statement on Instagram on March 26, saying they are "shocked, confused, and grieved."

"Our hearts are burdened because a child's life has been turned upside down due to evil actions of someone who should have never hurt the vulnerable. This is something unthinkable," they wrote.

Taylor Swift is celebrating the last day of Women's History Month with a music video honoring Elizabeth Taylor, the second track of her latest album dedicated to Hollywood's iconic actress.

In the same fashion as "The Fate of Ophelia" and "Opalite," the singer released the three-minute video exclusively on Apple Music and Spotify Premium. Both previous videos landed on YouTube a few days after. No date has been announced for the latest music video.

The video doesn't star Swift. Instead, it's a movie montage of Taylor clips from classic movies including: "A Place in the Sun," "Boom!," "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," "Cleopatra," "Father of the Bride," "Giant," "Julia Misbehaves," "Suddenly, Last Summer" and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"

On Taylor Swift's upcoming album "The Life of a Showgirl," the second track is titled "Elizabeth Taylor." Swift has been influenced by Taylor's rebellion against Hollywood's studio system, and Taylor's eight marriages and Swift's high-profile relationships have drawn similar tabloid attention. Taylor is pictured in the 1950s.

'Do you think it's forever?' Taylor Swift channels Elizabeth Taylor's glamour on track 2 of 'The Life of a Showgirl'

Easter eggs leading to the announcement

Swifties anticipated a music video would be coming sometime after the March 8 post by Taylor Nation, Swift's in-house marketing team. The post was of the singer-songwriter sipping champagne while wearing a feather-boa dress. The caption read, "Cheers to International Women's Day. 🥂 Tag your ultimate quintessential showgirl and let us know what you're listening to today below! We'll start: @taylorswift's 'Elizabeth Taylor' 🫶."

Swift also chose the glamorous single for a 7-inch vinyl release on April 18, for Record Store Day, which will include the original track as well as the "So Glamorous Cabaret" version.

'Burton to your Taylor'

Swift has described her song about the late diamond-dripping icon as a meditation on fame, scrutiny and the fragility of romantic certainty, themes she says she's often confronted in her own life.

"It has got to do with fame, attention, love, notoriety, anxiety that this isn't going to be forever," she said in her "Official Release Party" movie. The song, she added, mixes "luxurious and feminine" production with a "hard and tough" chorus, making it one of her favorites on the record.

The track went viral on TikTok thanks to a remix blending it with the Backstreet Boys' 1997 hit "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)."

In an interview with USA TODAY, Taylor's longtime assistant Tim Mendelson said the Hollywood legend would have "adored" Swift and admired her command of her career.

"We couldn't be more thrilled," he said of Swift bringing renewed attention to Taylor's legacy. "It's a huge tribute to Elizabeth."

In "The Life of a Showgirl," Taylor Swift shows she's a woman in love and "proudly flaunts the physical and emotional attributes of her man," USA TODAY critic Melissa Ruggieri writes. Here are some of the lyrics on the album that nod to Travis Kelce.

Among those receiving royal honors was actress Carey Mulligan, who was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the New Year Honors for services to drama. She was joined by her husband, singer Marcus Mumford, for the momentous occasion.

"I feel so unbelievably lucky to get to do a job that I really, really love," the three-time Oscar nominee said today. "To have this kind of recognition on top is just sort of extraordinary to me."

In the film, based on the first book in the Narnia series, Mulligan is reportedly set to play Digory's sick mother. Mabel Kirke. Other actors in Narnia: The Magician's Nephew include Emma Mackey, Daniel Craig, and Meryl Streep, among others. It is set to be released in theaters November 26, and stream on Netflix on December 25.

"I'm slightly in the place of terror because I really do have such reverence for Narnia," Gerwig told BBC Radio 4's Today program in 2024. "I loved Narnia so much as a child. As an adult, C.S. Lewis is a thinker and a writer. I'm intimidated by doing this. It's something that feels like a worthy thing to be intimidated by."
