A sold-out crowd of 17,335 fans at Seattle's Climate Pledge Arena broke the U.S. attendance record for a women's hockey game on Friday night.

In the first game back from the Olympic break for both PWHL teams, the host Seattle Torrent fell 5-2 to the Toronto Sceptres.

The Torrent played without captain Hilary Knight, who led the U.S. women's team to a gold medal in the Milan Cortina Olympics. She was placed on long-term injured reserve due to a lower-body injury she suffered during the Games.

The previous record of 17,228 fans came on Jan. 18 when the Montreal Victoire faced the New York Sirens at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

The Torrent also broke their own attendance mark, set when 16,014 fans filled the Seattle arena for the expansion club's inaugural home opener on Nov. 28, 2025.

Overall attendance across the PWHL for the league's third season was up 17 percent through 61 games at the Milan Cortina Olympics break, according to the league.

Scrubs is back! In new interviews, the cast opens up about returning to their roles for the revival

Sarah Chalke and Zach Braff, who play Elliot Reid and J.D., explain why they support their characters' divorce, which is revealed in the premiere

Donald Faison and Judy Reyes also react to how their on-screen relationship landed in the new season

The Scrubs OGs are back, and their lives are looking a little different.

The medical comedy's revival debuted on Wednesday, Feb. 25, and it revealed what John "J.D." Dorian (Zach Braff), Christopher Turk (Donald Faison), Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke), Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes) and Dr. Perry Cox (John C. McGinley) have been up to 16 years since the original series concluded.

The cast recently spoke with PEOPLE about stepping back into their beloved roles and shared how they felt when they learned where their characters find themselves today.

"As we talked about coming back and what this show would be, I wondered where [creator] Bill [Lawrence] would decide that we start off," says Chalke, 49, whose storyline included one of the more shocking updates when it is revealed that Elliot and J.D. have divorced.

While the split might be upsetting to some, Chalke admits that she actually supports it.

"I think having them be divorced was such a great way in, because if they're happy and they're just fine, there's not a lot of room for comedy and drama in that," she says. "There's much more room to play when they're figuring out how to be around each other, who they're going to be to each other, how to co-parent, how to work together and be in the same work environment again. So I thought that was such a great way to choose to go."

Braff, 50, agrees, noting that it made more sense for Turk and Carla to remain together than J.D. and Elliot.

"It's good to show one that really works better than ever and one that didn't, and I think a lot of people can relate," he says, "That's what happens in the real world."

"I think a lot of people would be upset if it were the other way around, if Turk and Carla were divorced and J.D. and Elliot were still married," Faison, 51, adds. "I think they got it right. If we're going to go back to the way Scrubs was before, this is a very important dynamic to have them be competitors, as well as friends and lovers."

Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes and Donald Faison

On the other hand, Faison says he's glad he and Reyes, 58, (who points out their "incredible chemistry" on-screen) can also portray a healthy couple.

"I love that Turk is still married and still in love with his wife. I mean, that's how I am," he notes. (Faison has been married to his wife CaCee Cobb since 2012.) "I think it's important to show love on television. I think it's important for people to see successful relationships and successful marriages."

While brainstorming the new season, Lawrence explains that part of what made Scrubs so special in its initial run from 2001 until 2010 was its ability to make people feel so many different emotions in one episode. The choice to ultimately break J.D. and Elliot up contributed to that sense of bringing reality back to the show.

"If you're going to jump ahead almost 20 years, as somebody that his life has jumped ahead 20 years, your dreams don't all come true," Lawrence says. "We were like, if you look at Carla and Turk's relationship, they probably stood the test of time. And if you look at J.D. and Elliot's relationship — spoiler — they never went more than an episode and a half without being incredibly contentious. They weren't a great couple."

Since 1996, there have been seven movies in the Scream franchise

The latest film, Scream 7, hit theaters on Feb. 27

The new installment stars Neve Campbell, reprising her role as Sidney Prescott

For nearly 30 years, horror fans have been shocked by Ghostface, making the Scream movies one of cinema's most iconic slasher series.

The franchise continues to thrill audiences decades later, with the latest installment, Scream 7, hitting theaters on Feb. 27 — featuring a new generation of victims, as well as some familiar faces like Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell.

The first movie premiered in 1996 and turned the slasher genre on its head. It poked fun at traditional horror tropes, had meta-references to the film industry and made its own rules that kept audiences guessing. Scream turned Campbell into a bonafide Scream Queen and has since launched seven sequels as well as a TV series that also centers around Ghostface but doesn't tie into the movies.

One of Scream's biggest changes to the horror formula is it didn't have just one "Final Girl" and instead had three main protagonists, with Courteney Cox's Gale Weathers and David Arquette's Deputy Dewey Riley joining Campbell's Sidney Prescott as the franchise's leads.

Throughout the follow-ups, the Scream movies have featured several famous actors facing off against Ghostface as well, including Drew Barrymore, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Emma Roberts, Patrick Dempsey and Jenna Ortega, among others.

With the release of Scream 7, now is a great time to start watching (or rewatching) the franchise. Here is everything to know about where to stream every Scream movie.

Scream (1996)

The original Scream movie centers around high school student Sidney Prescott and her friends who live in the small town of Woodsboro, Calif.

One night, a popular girl at school (Barrymore) is brutally killed at her home, and the town soon learns that her murder was just the beginning of a killing spree perpetrated by someone wearing a black robe and white mask, known by fans as Ghostface.

It also becomes apparent that Sidney is the main target, and the film's twist ending sets the stage for all the Scream sequels to come.

In Scream 2, Sidney is now in college and Hollywood has made a movie about her ordeal in Woodsboro called Stab. Sidney's life is thrust into chaos once again when a copycat killer arrives on campus and starts killing her friends one by one.

The first sequel has a huge ensemble cast that includes everyone from Jada Pinkett Smith to Timothy Olyphant, Sarah Michelle Gellar and even Tori Spelling and Heather Graham as stars in the fictional Stab film.

Scream 3 took the franchise to its most meta place yet. This time around, the movie takes place in Los Angeles during the production of Stab 3. But after the film's actors start getting murdered, Sidney, Gale and Dewey find their way to L.A. to investigate.

Scream 3 has a lot more humor than the previous films and takes numerous swipes at Hollywood and horror sequels. It also features cameos, like a scene-stealing performance by Carrie Fisher.

The cast include Parker Posey, Jenny McCarthy and Scott Foley.

Scream 4 (2011)

After Scream 3, the franchise went on an 11-year hiatus before returning in 2011. Scream 4 brought the series into the modern age with smartphones, streaming and social media.

The movie picks up on the 15th anniversary of the Woodsboro killings when Sidney just so happens to be in town promoting her new self-help book. Naturally, a killing spree kicks off yet again, forcing her to stay in town and find out who the killer is. Dewey and Gale also make their way back to help.

In addition to the original leads, other actors featured include Adam Brody, Rory Culkin, Alison Brie and Hayden Panettiere.

Following Scream 4, the franchise took another 11-year hiatus, with viewers wondering if Scream would ever return. But in 2022, Sidney, Dewey and Gale returned to Woodsboro once again after a young girl, Tara Carpenter (Ortega) is violently attacked by someone wearing the infamous Ghostface mask.

Tara's sister Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barerra) also comes back to town and the two learn that they're intricately connected to Sidney's past.

Joining the legacy characters in the self-described "requel" is a new generation of cast members, including Jack Quaid and Jasmin Savoy Brown.

After surviving the events of the previous movie, Tara and Sam now live in New York City and Tara attends Blackmore University. But their new life is quickly ruined when an individual donning the Ghostface mask starts rampaging through the Big Apple.

Cox was the only legacy actor to return for the sixth film and Scream 4's Kirby (Panettiere) also reprised her role.

The latest movie in the franchise, Scream 7, was released in theaters on Feb. 27.

In it, Sidney has built herself a new life in Pine Grove, Ind., with her husband Mark Evans (Joel McHale) and their daughter Tatum Evans (Isabel May).

But Sidney once again goes into high gear when Ghostface targets her child and despite believing there's a quick end to the violence, everything is not as it seems.

Apart from Campell reprising her role, Cox comes back as Gale, Arquette as Dewey and Matthew Lillard as Stu Macher. Brown and Mason Gooding also reappear from their previous installments.

JOHANNESBURG (AP) — It's an unusual move for the African continent's leading democracy: South Africa's president announced earlier this month that he will deploy the army to high-crime areas to fight the scourge of organized crime, gang violence and illegal mining.

President Cyril Ramaphosa said soldiers would take to the streets — in places that have some of the world's highest rates of violent crime — to combat what he described as the "most immediate threat" to South Africa's democracy and economic development.

He said the deployment would happen in three of the country's nine provinces, without giving a timeline. Some critics, however, say the army deployment could be seen as an admission that Ramaphosa's government is losing the battle.

A top tourist city marred by violence

With a population of some 3.8 million, the stunningly beautiful Cape Town is South Africa's second-largest city and one of its top tourist attractions.

But the neighborhoods on its outskirts, known as the Cape Flats, are notorious for deadly gang violence.

Street gangs with names such as the Americans, the Hard Livings and the Terrible Josters have for years battled for control of the illegal drug trade, while also being involved in extortion rackets, prostitution and contract killings.

Bystanders, including children, are often caught in the crossfire and killed in gang-related shootings. According to the latest crime statistics, South Africa's three police precincts with the most serious crime rates are all in and around Cape Town.

Ramaphosa said one part of the army would deploy in the Western Cape province, where Cape Town is located and which statistics say has around 90% of the country's gang-related killings.

Two other provinces, he said, would also see troop deployments: Gauteng, which is home to Johannesburg, South Africa's biggest city, and the Eastern Cape province.

Illegal mining run by organized crime syndicates

The outskirts of Johannesburg and the wider Gauteng province are dotted with abandoned mine shafts and authorities there have long grappled with illegal gold mining.

They say the mining gang, known as zama zamas, are typically run by heavily armed crime syndicates, brutal in protecting their operations. They use "informal miners" recruited from desperate and impoverished communities to go into the shafts, searching for leftover precious deposits.

These gangs are often connected to high-profile violence, including a 2022 case that shocked South Africa when around 80 alleged illegal miners were accused of gang raping eight women who were part of a music video shoot at an abandoned mine.

Last year, a standoff between police and illegal miners in an abandoned mine left at least 87 miners dead after police took a hard-line approach and cut off their food supplies in an attempt to force them out.

The illegal miners are often involved in other crimes in nearby communities, analysts say, and turf battles between rival gangs have forced people to leave their homes and seek safety elsewhere.

Authorities say there are an estimated 30,000 illegal miners in South Africa, operating in some of its 6,000 abandoned mine shafts.

The government has noted an increase in illegal mining, which it estimates is worth more than $4 billion a year in gold lost to criminal syndicates.

The trade is believed to be predominantly controlled by migrants from neighboring Lesotho, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique, stoking anger among South African communities against both the criminal bosses and foreigners living in the local community.

Previous army deployments linked to apartheid

Ramaphosa is well aware that South Africans old enough to remember the years of forced racial segregation under the apartheid system, which ended in 1994, likely will recall images of troops deployed to suppress pro-democracy protests.

Mindful of that painful past, he said it was important not to deploy the army "without a good reason."

But he said it has now "become necessary due to a surge in violent organized crime that threatens the safety of our people and the authority of the state."

Ramaphosa sought to calm concerns by saying the army would operate under police command.

There have been other recent deployments of South African troops. In 2023, soldiers fanned out into the streets after a series of truck burnings raised concerns over wider public disorder. And around 25,000 troops were deployed in 2021 to quell violent riots sparked by the imprisonment of former President Jacob Zuma.

South Africa also used soldiers to enforce strict lockdown rules during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Crime experts have expressed concern over Ramaphosa's latest deployment plans, insisting the army is not a long-term solution to fighting crime and soldiers are not experts in domestic law enforcement.

Firoz Cachalia, the country's police minister, has backed Ramaphosa and insisted the army will act in support of police and "their operations in particular locations."

He said the deployment is time-limited and meant to stabilize areas "where people are losing their lives" every day.

- Zack Snyder is glad *Batman v. Superman* didn't have "all the edges shaved off it by the focus groups."

- The filmmaker also told critics who call his fan base "toxic" to "go f--- yourself."

- He added that it's possible that he could return to the DC Universe one day: "I would never say that there's no way."

It's been nearly a decade since *Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice* polarized moviegoers, but director Zack Snyder remains as proud of it as ever.

The filmmaker recently discussed the controversial crossover movie at length, standing by creative decisions that turned some audiences off of his vision for the DC universe.

"My 100 percent honest reaction to *BvS* and how it's received in the world is… Do you really want a movie that's [had] all the edges shaved off it by the focus groups?" Snyder said during a conversation with Josh Horowitz on the *Happy Sad Confused* podcast. "Do you really want a movie that has [had] decisions made in the boardroom, or tested ideas are being rendered for your enjoyment? Do you really want the Kmart version of your story? Is that what you really want?"

*Dawn of Justice* — as well as Snyder's other DC movies, *Man of Steel* and *Justice League* — received criticism for unconventional renderings of beloved superheroes, including a Batman (Ben Affleck) who shows no remorse after murdering his enemies and a Superman (Henry Cavill) with a darker edge than comic books have typically given him.

Snyder indicated that the film's unusual handling of its iconic characters, plus its somber mood and grim violence, caused a headache as it was being rated.

"We were trying for the PG-13 [rating] for the movie, [but] the MPAA kept kicking the movie back to us, saying, 'It's still an R, it's still an R,'" the filmmaker recalled. "I'm like, 'What are you talking about? We're taking everything out!' And I remember someone saying we got a report from the MPAA saying like, 'We just don't like the idea of Batman fighting Superman. So that kind of makes it an R.'"

Snyder recalled the ratings board objecting to several details in the pivotal battle between the two heroes, noting that they considered it "rude" when the characters slammed into radiators and sinks during their skirmish.

"We should've realized then that we were kind of kicking the zeitgeist in the nuts a little bit," he said. "That we were going to anger people, because not only do they not want their heroes deconstructed, they don't want their heroes battling each other on a road to deconstructing the 'why' of their existence. That is another sacrilege."

Although Snyder had a vision for sequels to *Justice League* that never came to fruition, he said he always intended for his iteration of the DC Universe to conclude. "This was a mythological universe that we saw had an ending," he said. "It was like a flower. It was gonna bloom and be glorious and then die. And then we would have been done with it."

Henry Cavill in 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice'

However, Snyder later likened his DC mythos to a different plant that exists independently of James Gunn's rebooted cinematic universe. "That three-movie trilogy is a weed that just won't die," he said. "It grows on its own and has its own life and is not concerned, I don't think, with James' *Superman*, which is amazing."

Snyder also said he cannot completely rule out returning to DC, as he already overcame seemingly insurmountable obstacles to realize his vision for *Zack Snyder's Justice League* — his retooled 2021 director's cut that required additional photography and a massive VFX overhaul.

"I would never say that there's no way," he said. "I would never, because I was on the ride that created *Justice League*. And if you were in my shoes, there were numerous times, dark times, when I would say there is no chance that there will ever be my version of *Justice League*… cost, politics, everything stood against it. And yet, it exists."

***Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our EW Dispatch newsletter.***

Snyder noted that the Snyder Cut materialized only because of fervent fan outcry, also reiterating his appreciation for his supporters raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention after his daughter Autumn died by suicide in 2017.

"The fans should never forget that they did that," he said. "We raised a ton of money for suicide prevention, and they really did a lot of good. And I think that they catch a lot of flak for being toxic or whatever, but they literally saved human lives. So you can go f--- yourself if that's what you think."

Jennifer Garner joined Kylie Kelce's Not Gonna Lie podcast on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026

During the episode, she discussed her beloved role as Jenna Rink in 13 Going on 30

The 53-year-old actress revealed that she hasn't seen the full movie in over two decades

More than two decades after its release, 13 Going on 30 remains one of Jennifer Garner's most beloved films, but she hasn't actually sat down to watch it in decades.

While chatting with Kylie Kelce on the Not Gonna Lie podcast, Garner made a surprising confession about the fan-favorite romantic comedy. Despite the movie's lasting popularity and constant replays on streaming and cable, it's not one she often revisits. In fact, she revealed she hasn't watched it all the way through since it first came out in 2004.

"You know what's weird?" she told Kelce, 33, during the episode. "I haven't watched it since the premiere in full."

That, however, doesn't mean Garner has avoided it entirely. Over the years, the actress explained, she has occasionally revisited small moments when required for work. "There have been times where I've had to talk about a certain scene or something, and so I've gone back and watched that scene, and I don't know why I haven't sat down to watch the whole thing," she admitted.

Released in 2004, 13 Going on 30 tells the story of 13-year-old Jenna Rink, who magically wakes up as a 30-year-old magazine editor navigating adulthood in New York City. The film's playful fantasy and heartfelt romance helped cement Garner as a rom-com favorite and made Jenna a character fans still adore. So where does Jenna rank among Garner's many roles? When asked directly, she didn't hesitate.

"Oh, I mean, she gosh, I mean, she's one or two. She's right up there," she shared. "Yeah, because how magical? I just remember coming up with things in the moment and playing so much. There was so much joy in the creation of her and of that set in general. So yeah, she's up there."

Still, the top spot in Garner's heart may belong to Sydney Bristow, the undercover spy she portrayed on Alias.

"Sydney Bristow…she might be number one just 'cause she changed … my life because people cared. It was the first thing I ever did that people really cared about, but more than that, she gave me this sense of self and confidence," Garner told Kelce.

"I had such girl-next-door energy that I'd never had a swagger, and she made me have a swagger, and I think it's really important for young women to find, recognize and know how to use their own swagger," she added.

Anna Cathcart reveals what advice she would give her character Kitty, ahead of XO, Kitty's new season

"She needs to calm down a little bit," Cathcart told PEOPLE at the Lunar New Year Gold Celebration on Wednesday, Feb. 12

Season 3 of 'XO, Kitty' will premiere on Netflix on April 2

Anna Cathcart has some advice for her XO, Kitty character.

Cathcart shared a piece of advice she would give Kitty ahead of the Netflix series' third season while speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the Lunar New Year Gold Celebration hosted by Gold House in New York City on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

"She just needs to calm down a little bit," Cathcart says. "I feel like Kitty has the most chaos [sic] of anyone I know, and that's what we love about her."

"But also, girl, you need to sit down sometimes," she adds. "Take a deep breath, it's okay. She kind of always has been [that way], but in a controlled way, I guess. She handles it well."

In the To All the Boys spinoff series, Kitty Song-Covey moves to Seoul to attend the Korean Independent School of Seoul (K.I.S.S.) and reunites with her long-distance boyfriend Dae, played by Choi Min-young. When things don't go as planned, Kitty sets out to find new friends and build a life in the South Korean city.

Season 2 of XO, Kitty ended with Kitty receiving a scholarship to K.I.S.S., securing her return to the school for her senior year. The finale sees Kitty about to confess her feelings to Min Ho, played by Sang Heon Lee, before he joins his brother pop star Joon Ho, played by Peniel Shin, on tour. When Kitty asks if she can come along, viewers are left on a cliffhanger.

"I know we left fans on a cliffhanger at the end of season 2 but I can promise season 3 will be worth the wait, including our first summer episode," season 2 showrunner Jessica O'Toole said at the time of the renewal, per Deadline. "Not to mention plenty of romance, friendship, adventure … and kissing. Lots of kissing."

The show, which premiered in May 2023, was renewed for a third season on Feb. 14. Netflix announced the renewal in a video posted online.

Cathcart noted she is "so, so excited for everyone to see season 3" and teased what fans can expect to see from Kitty in the upcoming season.

"I'm finally allowed to talk about that because it's been a secret forever," the star said. "So very excited and I think they're going to be surprised, but also super happy. So I can't wait."

"[Kitty's] making some big decisions in her life and it's senior year, all of that, so I'm very excited for them to see," Cathcart added.

Season 3 of 'XO, Kitty' will drop on Netflix on April 2.
