The former Prince Andrew has been seen publicly for the first time in weeks following his February arrest.

Andrew, 66, was photographed on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk on Saturday, March 21. The former Duke of York was seen walking his dogs alongside a bodyguard.

The outing marks the first time that Andrew has been spotted in public in weeks, following his arrest on Feb. 19 — his 66th birthday — in relation to a police investigation surrounding a claim that he shared confidential information in his previous role as a U.K. trade envoy with disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew was released under investigation later that same day. When he left the Aylsham Police Station in Norfolk, after spending approximately 11 hours in custody, he was photographed in the backseat of a vehicle. (The image has since gone viral.)

Andrew stepped back from his public royal role in 2019 following a headline-making BBC interview, in which he discussed his relationship with Epstein, who died by suicide that same year at age 66. The financier was awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges at the time of his death.

The former Duke of York has been connected to Virginia Giuffre, an outspoken Epstein victim who has alleged that she was made to have sex with Andrew when she was just 17 years old. Giuffre died by suicide at age 44 in 2025.

Queen Elizabeth stripped her son of his military titles and patronages in January 2022, after a judge rejected his attempt to have Giuffre's sexual assault lawsuit against him dismissed. He eventually settled with Giuffre out of court for an undisclosed sum.

After Giuffre's posthumous book, Nobody's Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, was released last year, scrutiny of Andrew intensified, and he gave up the use of his royal titles, as well as other titles and honors. Andrew, who has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, was then stripped of his royal titles days later by King Charles.

The whereabouts surrounding Andrew's ex, Sarah Ferguson, are currently unknown. Ferguson, 66 — who has her own ties to Epstein — has not been seen in public since December 2025.

As of late January, PEOPLE understood that the former Duchess of York planned to spend time overseas as she planned her next moves, and she has reportedly spent time at wellness centers in Switzerland and Ireland in recent months.

The former couple's two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, are not full-time working royals and pursue private careers. They retain homes at royal palaces in London.

A family friend of Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 35, told PEOPLE in a recent cover story that the sisters are hanging on tight to their royal rank amid the scandals surronding their parents. "They want to hold on to their royal status. It's their identity," the insider said.
