Taylor Swift might be settling down, but she's not slowing down in the style department anytime soon.

Nearly two months after her wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden, the pop superstar unveiled a new haircut during an outing in London on Wednesday, Aug. 12, according to photos obtained by Entertainment Tonight.

Swift, who was spotted leaving the private members' club Annabel's, sported a notably shorter do: a shoulder-length cut with a crop of sweeping bangs. The Grammy-winning singer, 36, wore a floral-printed, lilac minidress by Delphine for the occasion, which she topped off with a pair of strappy high heels and a sparkly handbag.

The appearance marks Swift's first major outing since tying the knot with Kelce at the iconic New York City venue on July 3. The star-studded nuptials featured a bevy of A-list guests, including Ed Sheeran, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, Tom Cruise, Adam Sandler and Zoë Kravitz.

While the pair's megawatt wedding has generated headlines, details from the ceremony are scant, as photos and videos of the event have yet to be released.

Kelce gave fans a glimpse into the couple's marital bliss earlier this week while speaking to reporters at training camp.

"Wedding was the best night of my life," the Kansas City Chiefs tight end said on Wednesday, calling the festivities a "crazy night."

"I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us," Kelce, 36, added.

President Donald Trump on Friday dismissed concerns from families of service members about the grim conditions aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, whose deployment had been overextended in the Middle East due to the Iran war.

In interviews with NBC News and otheroutlets, family members of some of the thousands of people aboard the ship have described a lack of supplies and food and an overall deteriorating mental health situation with multiple sailors having attempted to jump overboard.

NBC News asked Trump, who was speaking to reporters at Joint Base Andrews, whether the deployments have gone on for too long and whether he’s worried about troops’ mental health.

“No. No. No — not nearly long enough,” Trump said.

Danielle Rappa, whose son has been deployed on the ship, told NBC News that the situation was like a “scene out of the ‘American Horror Story,’ where ... everybody’s dead, but they don’t know it yet.” She said that she had noticed a change in his mood as his deployment dragged on. “Where he had been very positive, he started getting very dark,” she said.

Trump also told reporters Friday that the Lincoln is “moving right now or very shortly” and that “it’s being replaced with another very similar ship.” The USS George Washington is expected to replace the Lincoln in the Middle East, a U.S. official told NBC News.

Melanie Stowe, whose daughter is serving aboard the Lincoln, said that the “deployment date keeps getting moved up, and then it gets moved back, and it gets moved up.”

Both Stowe and Rappa said their children have told them about a fellow sailor jumping overboard. A U.S. official said Thursday that a sailor assigned to the Lincoln’s air wing went overboard in early August and was quickly rescued and treated. That sailor was transferred off the ship for further medical care, the official said.

U.S. military leaders have been privately raising concerns inside the Pentagon and the White House about low morale and widespread fatigue among American service members who’ve been deployed for months to support the war with Iran, two U.S. officials said.

More than 50,000 troops have been deployed to support the U.S.- and Israel-led war with Iran.

A typical deployment for a carrier is roughly six to seven months and includes regular stops at ports to refresh and replenish food supplies. Aboard the Lincoln, the circumstances for the 5,000 sailors and Marines have become particularly troubling, according to U.S. officials.

The last port visit was in Guam in December — the vessel has been at sea for 244 consecutive days.

Fewer stops at ports have led to a limited amount of supplies and fresh food on the ships, and service members and their families have pointed to these worsening living conditions aboard the Lincoln.

A U.S. official said Thursday that the “Lincoln is operating in a highly contested environment where traditional supply hubs in the Middle East were disrupted by combat actions. In response, leadership prioritized mission-critical supplies: first food, then hygiene items, then mail. Current reports from the ship confirm continuous access to clean water, functional AC and healthy meal options.”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told reporters Thursday that the reports are being “completely misrepresented.”

“We make sure that every ship, every crew, every captain has everything we can provide them at every single moment,” he said aboard the USS Gridley in Panama. “Some deployments are longer than others, and I have more respect and gratitude for those sailors than anybody.”

It could take several weeks for the replacement of the Lincoln by the George Washington to be complete. It will likely take at least two weeks for the Lincoln to return to its home base of San Diego.

Several Democratic lawmakers are demanding that the Trump administration provide answers about these extended deployments.

In a letter Wednesday to Hegseth and acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao, Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., said reports about the conditions aboard the Lincoln “warrant immediate attention” and raise the question of “whether the Navy can sustain the operational tempo now being demanded of its carrier force.”

Sen. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., a Marine Corps veteran who served in the Iraq War, said on X that the Navy must allow a bipartisan congressional delegation to visit the aircraft carrier “to conduct oversight investigation into this horrible situation.”

Experts emphasize considering your face shape when choosing hairstyles for balance and feature enhancement.

Long layers complement oval faces, while pixie cuts with volume suit round face shapes.

Heart-shaped faces benefit from hairstyles like side-swept bangs to balance wider foreheads.

While celebrities and seasonal trends are valid sources of inspiration, you may also want to consider your face shape when deciding on a haircut. “The goal is always to create a flattering shape or silhouette to draw attention to the best features,” explains celebrity hairstylist Ashley Streicher. “When a haircut complements your face shape, it can accentuate your eyes, highlight your cheekbones, or create the illusion of a more balanced silhouette,” adds hairstylist Jennifer Nast. This can be achieved through bangs, layers, length, and styling.

Of course, these are suggestions only and not rules. The best hairstyle for you will ultimately come down to personal preference. But you might just prefer to cut your hair according to your face shape because it looks better. To learn how to do this, keep reading for more tips from Streicher, Nast, and celebrity stylist Harry Josh.

Meet Our Expert -

Ashley Streicher is a celebrity hairstylist and R+Co Collective Member. Her clientele includes Emily Blunt, Lily James, and Kiernan Shipka.

Jennifer Nast is a senior stylist for Sharon Dorram at Sally Hershberger Salon.

Harry Josh is a celebrity hairstylist for Kerasilk hair care. His clients include Priyanka Chopra and Gisele Bündchen.

How to Determine Your Face Shape

“To determine your face shape, look in the mirror and consider the proportions of your forehead, cheekbones, and jawline,” instructs Nast. “You can also trace the outline of your face with lipstick or a washable marker on the mirror to get a clearer view of the shape.” Once you determine your face shape, you can use it to find a hairstyle that achieves balance, meaning, a cut that elongates a round face or one that softens a square jaw or even a look that adds volume to an oval shape, notes Streicher.

Haircuts for Oval Face Shapes

Oval faces are longer than they are wide. Those with oval faces tend to have elongated foreheads too. Nast explains that oval faces have a jawline that is soft and slightly rounded, with cheekbones as the broadest part of the face. She considers an oval face the most versatile shape.

Long Layers

Long layers like Jessica Alba’s complement oval faces because they highlight their natural symmetry without adding unnecessary width or length. “With a tall forehead that is only a bit wider than the chin, layering around the face is great to enhance the key features of an oval face,” says Josh. If you have an oval face shape, you may want to consider avoiding center parts since this can make your forehead appear larger, he adds.

Bob Cut

A classic bob works well with oval shaped faces, drawing attention to the jawline and cheekbones. Consider adding a fun detail, like Kelly Rowland’s statement curl, to give your style a little something extra.

Side-Swept Bangs

Considering getting bangs? Kerry Washington’s side-swept pair is low-maintenance and complementary. “These can add a touch of sophistication while framing the face beautifully, without obscuring the proportions of the oval shape,” Nast explains.

Haircuts for Round Face Shapes

“Round faces typically feature softer angles, with the sides of the face curving slightly outward instead of going straight,” says Josh. Those with this face shape often have full cheeks and a softer, less defined jawline.

Long Layers With Volume on Top

To lengthen the face, try a longer haircut, such as Gabrielle Union’s layered look. “Layers help break up the roundness and add dimension,” says Nast. If you want a shorter length, style your tresses with a simple hair flip. “Adding height at the crown elongates the face, creating the illusion of an oval shape,” she adds.

Lob or A-Line Bob

“When working with a round face, longer hair and layers two inches below the chin can help to elongate the face,” says Nast. Selena Gomez’s retro lob, which hovers just above her shoulders, is gorgeous. Alternatively, an A-line bob, which is longer in the front and shorter in the back, elongates the face while adding angles that counteract the roundness, she adds.

Pixie Cut With Volume

If you think that round faces can’t pull off short ‘dos, think again. “A pixie cut with volume at the top can create the appearance of a longer face, balancing out the roundness,” says Nast. Emma Stone’s mussy layers are the epitome of It Girl cool.

Haircuts for Square Face Shapes

According to Josh, square face shapes feature a strong, angular bone structure and jawline. The width of the forehead, cheekbones, and jaw are similar, says Nast, adding that it’s typically broad. Rather than opt for haircuts with blunt and hard edges, Josh suggests going for softer, flowier styles since they serve to round out angular features.

Soft Face-Framing Layers

Wispy bangs and/or face-framing layers can complement square-shaped faces. “These can soften the angles of the face, especially the strong jawline, creating a more rounded appearance,” says Nast. If you’re wearing your hair in an updo, follow Zoë Kravitz’s lead and pull out a few pieces in front for an effortless and appealing finish.

Long, Soft Layers

“Long layers that start below the jaw can add softness and movement, reducing the emphasis on the squareness of the face,” says Nast. Add some waves and you’ll bring the beachy vibes like Olivia Wilde does here.

Side-Parted Styles

Changing up your hair part is an easy, instant way to turn up your look. “A deep side part can break up the symmetry of a square face, adding softness and shifting focus away from the jawline,” Nast says. Alternatively, a cool girl hair flip, like Demi Moore’s, gives a boost of volume and that certain je nais se quois.

Haircuts for Diamond Face Shapes

Nast describes diamond face shapes as having a narrow forehead and jawline with wide, prominent cheekbones. You can find balance with softer styles or draw attention to your killer bone structure with your haircut’s layers and length.

French Bob

“A short bob adds width to the narrow jawline and helps to balance the face’s proportions,” Nast says. Soft curls, like those seen on Halle Berry’s French bob, will also favor diamond-shaped faces.

Layered Pixie Cut

“A layered pixie with fullness around the temples can balance the narrowness of the forehead and jaw, while drawing attention to the cheekbones,” Nast explains.

Side-Swept Bangs

Ariana Grande at the 2026 AFI Awards.Credit: JC Olivera/Variety via Getty Images

“A side-swept bang can soften the angles of the face and reduce the prominence of the cheekbones, creating a more balanced look,” says Nast. Pull out a few face-framing pieces from your updo, like Ariana Grande does here, for an ultra sultry style.

Haircuts for Heart Face Shapes

According to Streicher, a heart face shape is wider than it is long. It also features a wider forehead and a pointed chin, adds Josh.

Long, Side-Swept Bangs

Zendaya at the Bulgari Hotel Roma in 2023.Credit: Daniele Venturelli/Getty Images for Bulgari

Josh’s go-to for a heart-shaped face is side bangs. “Side bangs are great to soften and bring out cheekbones to balance the face,” he says. “These can balance a wider forehead and bring attention to the eyes and cheekbones while softening the chin,” adds Nast. Don’t want to commit to bangs? Get a similar look with a deep side part and sweeping hair across the forehead, like Zendaya here.

Chin-Length Bob

Ciara arrives at the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscar Party.Credit: Steve Granitz/FilmMagic

“A bob that hits right at the chin helps to add width to the lower part of the face, balancing the narrow chin with the broader forehead,” says Nast. Ciara’s version is a little shorter but still appealing. Tucking ends under lends the cut a rounder feel while the bangs conceal the widest part of the face—and add major style points.

Wavy Lob

“A wavy lob can add volume and width around the jawline, balancing out the face’s shape,” Nast says. Scarlett Johansson’s chic waves seem to have been achieved by a flat iron, the bends hitting in all the right places.

Frequently asked Questions

What else is important to consider when determining my face shape?

“You need to also consider your hairline, bone structure, and both the length and width of your face and head,” says Streicher.

What else should you consider when choosing a haircut?

According to Josh, color is crucial when determining your hairstyle. “I’m always a fan of everyone going slightly lighter than natural color with a little bit of dimension—not only does it bring out the haircut, but softens the entire look.”

When would my face shape not factor into what haircut to choose?

“Face shape might not be as critical if the individual has other dominant features such as a very long neck or particularly prominent eyes, which they might prefer to highlight or minimize,” Nast says. “Personal style, hair texture and lifestyle also play significant roles in determining the best haircut, too.”

Jimmy Fallon has offered President Donald Trump some advice on how to replace his departing White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, suggesting he ask himself: “Who am I OK being stuck inside a catering truck with?”

The host of NBC’s The Tonight Show devoted much of Thursday’s opening monologue to Leavitt’s exit from the Trump administration, announced weeks after she returned from maternity leave for the birth of her second child.

His gag referred to this week’s dramatic revelation that Trump secretly switched planes at a Turkish airport in July to evade an assassination threat issued by Iran, concealing himself inside a hydraulic catering truck to be loaded onto an C-32A jet while the likes of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Leavitt and the press corps were left aboard Air Force One, effectively serving as a decoy when it took off for England.

Fallon began by joking about the circumstances of Leavitt’s resignation: “Yeah, between the non-stop White House construction and Trump, she wanted to be around something way quieter: a baby.”

He continued: “Apparently, Trump was caught off guard by Leavitt’s decision. And this is strange, Trump is now blaming her resignation on pool vandals.”

Jimmy Fallon jokes about White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt after she announced she was stepping down as President Donald Trump's spokeswoman and had some advice for Trump on finding a replacement (The Tonight Show/NBC)

The outgoing press secretary has a reputation for dogged loyalty to her boss, prepared, for instance, to echo his insistence that vandals were responsible for the damage done to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in June – only for the administration itself to admit in court filings that a “botched installation” by the contractors was the real cause.

“Trump was surprised by Leavitt’s decision,” Fallen went on. “She was like, ‘I wanted to wait for a good time, but there hasn’t been one, so...’”

Turning his attention to her potential successor, the comic joked: “Trump’s now looking for a replacement who can spin facts and numbers, so another good option is his doctor.”

“I’m 155 pounds…” he said, impersonating the president.

Fallon then cited a report suggesting CNN’s resident conservative and Mitch McConnell-whisperer Scott Jennings was the front-runner and observed: “We’re just lucky Trump turned on his TV to a news channel. We were this close to seeing Press Secretary Bluey!”

“Of course when hiring someone, it’s also about personality, you know?” he continued. “You’ve got to think, like, ‘Who am I OK being stuck inside a catering truck with?’ You know what I’m saying? You gotta think ahead.”

Not finished there, Fallon cut to a sketch where “Leavitt” (Rose Kelso) rebuked the comedian for questioning her about her decision to leave and accused him of political bias while opening multiple cans of beer and chugging from a keg, no longer restrained by the niceties of public office.

Leavitt’s 18-month tenure was defined by clashes with reporters and a dogged loyalty to Trump (AFP/Getty)

There was also a spoof video of the president serenading his press secretary in a parody of Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” in which he paid tribute to her regular clashes with journalists and mused about the possibility of hiring Nicki Minaj to replace her.

The host joked about Leavitt on Wednesday’s instalment, telling his studio audience, “Apparently, she’s moving on to an easier job working as the press secretary for Taylor Farms lettuce,” the business that health officials have pinpointed as the possible source of this summer’s explosive diarrhoea outbreak.

Fallon famously interviewed Trump – and ruffled his hair to prove it was real – in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election and has largely avoided attracting the president’s animosity in the same way his late-night competitors Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert have done.

However, Trump did tell him to “Be a man” after he later expressed regret over the hair stunt and said he had made a “mistake” by taking part in it.

“Now, I am friends with Wynonna Judd, who I love very much and I’ve known her for many, many years. And she is a supporter of Trump,” the comedian added. “And somehow, we never bring it up.”

“I kind of give her a grace in a way,” O’Donnell added, explaining that the country singer has “had so much in her life with her mom taking her own life and just the complicated nature of her upbringing.”

Wynonna Judd’s mom, the country music legend Naomi Judd, died by suicide in 2022.

President Donald Trump has long blamed vandals for the persistent problems plaguing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, including algae blooms and peeling paint. Now, Scooby-Doo and his team of mystery investigators are on the case — at least in a newly released parody video.

Posted online this week, the video spoofs an episode of the animated series while skewering Trump, whose administration recently acknowledged that a botched renovation was responsible for the pool’s problems.

Created by Jason Moore, an Ohio-based graphic artist, the video has drawn more than one million views on Facebook, and tens of thousands more across YouTube and TikTok.

Moore, who identifies as an independent, told The Independent that the Reflecting Pool saga is representative of “the absurdity” taking place in Washington, D.C. “I thought Scooby-Doo would be a good way to put a highlighter on it,” he said. “And regardless of what side of the political fence you're on, you can have a little laugh and be entertained at the same time.”

The clip opens with Trump summoning Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Daphne, Fred and Velma to the Oval Office. “Somebody, very bad people, turned my beautiful pool green: vandals,” the president says before enlisting the gang to “solve the mystery behind it.”

A graphic artist created a parody Scooby-Doo episode where President Donald Trump enlists the Mystery gang to solve the case of the Reflecting Pool (Midnight Oil Productions, YouTube)

The group heads to the Reflecting Pool in search of clues. There, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo encounter the “Potomac Muck Man,” who chases them while Velma investigates the pool itself. The gang then uses “decoy unredacted Epstein files” to lure the monster into a trap.

After the creature is caught in a net, Fred embraces the urban legend that it had long haunted the grounds. But Velma — who earlier discovered peeled paint, a ripped section of liner and a rushed no-bid contract to repair the pool — ultimately cracks the case.

“There were never any vandals,” says Velma, Mystery Inc.’s most analytical member. “The dark paint made the perfect conditions for this whole debacle, and the contractors botched the job, which led to the liner peeling itself.”

She removes the Muck Man’s mask to reveal that the culprit is the Republican president.

“He played the Muck Man and made up the whole vandal story to scare everyone off before they figured out he was responsible for the whole thing,” she says.

Trump then delivers the franchise’s signature line: “And I would've gotten away with it too if it weren’t for you meddling kids.” Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, responds: “Oh, you’re going to get away with it. We’ll see to that.”

The roughly three-minute clip — which quickly went viral — drew thousands of comments across various platforms, with many viewers praising it for its uncanny resemblance to an original Scooby-Doo episode.

“I somehow missed this one when I was a kid,” wrote one YouTube user, while another chimed in: “This story has all the bells and whistles of a classic Scooby-Doo episode.”

“I am not an AI fan, but this deserved a 'like,’” wrote a third user.

Moore — who has created numerous political satire videos — said the project took roughly 50 hours to complete, including scriptwriting and using AI to assist with video production.

The spoof comes as the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool remains at the center of political controversy.

In April, the Trump administration launched a restoration project intended to spruce up the landmark ahead of America’s 250th birthday in July. The work included applying an “American flag blue” sealant to the pool’s basin.

But the project — carried out under a no-bid contract awarded to a Trump-linked firm and ultimately costing about $16 million — ran into trouble almost immediately. Algae turned the water green, while pieces of the blue coating began floating to the surface.

Officials tried a series of remedies: pouring bleach into the water, vacuuming up algae and, eventually, draining the pool and erecting fencing to allow for additional repairs.

The 80-year-old president, without providing evidence, blamed vandalism for the damage, and several people were arrested at the site, including Olympic canoeist David Hearn — who appears in the parody video as a scapegoat.

Earlier this month, however, the government dropped its charges against Hearn and several others in connection to the pool. Pirro’s office said that, in light of new information released by the Interior Department, “it is difficult to attribute the widespread damage to the Reflecting Pool to vandalism, let alone to establish that fact beyond a reasonable doubt.” The office instead blamed a “botched installation” by contractors.

Trump quickly voiced frustration with Pirro’s decision, telling reporters on Aug. 3: “Frankly, I think she choked.”

Katey Sagal and Kurt Sutter are sharing a look inside their newly designed Los Angeles home!

The Married with Children actress and Sons of Anarchy creator opened the doors to their historic 1923 English estate-style abode located in Hollywood Hills in a recent tour with Architectural Digest.

Though the married duo are lovers of interior design and have often just “put it together ourselves” when it comes to their homes, the pair enlisted designer Vanessa Alexander of Alexander Design to help them figure out some difficult-to-decorate spaces in their new abode.

Alexander especially helped bring their vision to life in the kitchen, which has since become Sagal’s favorite space in the house, she told the outlet. “It was an all-white space and didn’t really go with the flow of the house,” she added of the previous layout.

Sagal recalled how Alexander helped them liven up the space with “color and materials,” including with the soothing gray color reflected in the cabinetry, and the custom brass backsplash that makes a statement behind the range.

The redesign was so appealing to Sagal that it even made her consider taking up cooking again.

“Raising three children, I’m kind of tired of cooking, but now I sort of want to cook again a little bit,” she told the outlet. The star shares two children — Sarah Grace White and Jackson White — with her ex-husband Jack White, as well as daughter Esmé Louise Sutter, whom she shares with her husband.

Alexander also helped them envision how to decorate their living room, which had been giving the pair some trouble. One thing the designer bonded over with the couple was their love of eclectic design, which is reflected throughout the home.

“We’ve collected a lot of different pieces over the years and we like mixing things up,” Sutter explained. “And Vanessa is great at finding the linchpins that tie it all together.”

Meanwhile, Alexander echoed how effortless the partnership was for the trio, and how she was immediately drawn to how the pair are “not safe people” when it comes to design. She also admired the “edge and grit” of Sutter and Sagal’s taste.

“They have a world of collections from many years of traveling, a very eclectic life of things that they brought to the house. It was this incredible jumping-off point,” the designer added.

Sutter told the outlet the couple has gotten into a routine of moving homes quite frequently: “We get to a place, we fix it up, we love it, we get bored, we move.”

However, their current abode in Hollywood Hills, which happens to be one of their favorite neighborhoods in L.A., has made quite the impression on them.

“We just passed our five-year anniversary in it, and we’re not selling,” Sagal says, adding that she loves the “bones” of the house.
