Taylor Frankie Paul's season of *The Bachelorette* will no longer air as planned.

"In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of *The Bachelorette* at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family," a Disney Entertainment Television spokesperson said in a statement to ** on Thursday.

Back in September, ABC announced that the *Secret Lives of Mormon Wives* cast member would star on season 22 of the long-running dating series, making her the first non-franchise Bachelorette. Paul subsequently filmed season 4 of *Mormon Wives* — during which she hooked up with her on-again, off-again ex Dakota Mortensen — before leaving to film the dating show in late October. She announced on Dec. 21 that she wrapped *The Bachelorette**.*

Less than a week away from the scheduled March 22 premiere, however, news broke that an alleged incident involving Paul and Mortensen, who share son Ever, was under investigation with Utah police. The Draper City Police Department confirmed at the time that there was an "domestic assault investigation" involving the exes, revealing "allegations have been made in both directions" and "contact was made with involved parties on [Feb.] 24th and 25th."

While production on season 5 of *Mormon Wives* was halted, Paul resumed promotion for *The Bachelorette*, telling EW* *on Tuesday that she had gone "no contact" with Mortensen.

"I actually took action about a few weeks ago," she said. "I'm just doing third-party everything — pick-up, drop-offs, communication — so no contact right now for me. I think that's the best case, honestly, because clearly it's just not to a point of us getting along, so I wanted to take the best action I could… I didn't want to bring anything to the public eye, making it a bigger deal for the sake of my son, and just everything about to come out. But that wasn't the plan for [Mortensen]."

A source later replied to the implication that Mortensen might be responsible for the investigation going public. "He knew there was a possibility it could come out, but he was not going to be the one to proactively do that because he has always wanted a decent relationship with Taylor," the source told EW. "It's been really hard to achieve that, but he wants to co-parent well."

Paul and Mortensen's relationship previously made headlines in 2023 when she was arrested following a separate incident. She pleaded guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault. As part of her plea deal, Paul was placed on three years' probation, which ends in August, and prosecutors dropped four other charges, including domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse, and criminal mischief.

On Thursday, TMZ published footage from the past altercation, in which Paul could be seen throwing a chair at her then-boyfriend in the presence of her oldest child. (Paul shares two kids with her ex-husband Tate Paul. The pair split following a soft-swinging scandal.)

"It's sad to see the latest installment of his never-ending, desperate, attention-seeking, destructive campaign to harm Taylor without any regard for the consequences for their child," Paul's rep told EW in a statement about the 2023 footage. "Releasing an old video, which conveniently omits context, on their son's birthday is a reprehensible attempt to distract from his own behavior. Thankfully, the public has seen this act before and knows who he is and sadly, many will recognize this pattern of manipulation, both in his actions on the show, and from their own experiences."

TMZ subsequently reported that Mortensen had filed for a restraining order against Paul, stating he is "genuinely concerned for my safety and the safety and well-being of my child" following the alleged February incident.

*The Bachelorette* has aired on ABC since 2003, following the successful debut of *The Bachelor* in 2002.

Kerry Washington opened up about her experience filming her groundbreaking abortion scene on *Scandal* after having the procedure done in her 20s.

Washington, 49, played the tough fixer and crisis communications expert Olivia Pope on the hit Shondaland political drama between 2012 and 2018. During the season 5 mid-season finale, "Baby It's Cold Outside," Olivia gets an abortion while Republican senator Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) filibusters a bill that would slash Planned Parenthood funding.

The actress recalled how she felt acting out the abortion in an interview with *Call Her Daddy *on Wednesday. Host Alex Cooper asked Washington if it was "triggering" to simulate the experience as someone who had actually had the procedure.

"I don't think it was triggering to film it, Washington said. "I do think it was cathartic."

The *Little Fires Everywhere* star said she was able to share her own truth through her character, even if people weren't aware that she herself had an abortion. Although she didn't go public with her experience until years later, she said she had "less to hide" and felt "a little bit healed" after the episode aired.

"I got to say this is something that happened to me," she said. "This is something that I chose. This is something that I've lived through and I'm not going to hide it anymore. Even though I was hiding it like on some like deeper emotional level, I was able to say like, I'm going to step into the truth of this moment and share it with all of you."

The *Imperfect Women *actress said that she had worked in sex education and advocated for reproductive rights for years. She wrote about her experience getting an abortion in her 20s in her 2023 memoir *Thicker Than Water*, although she has said she was hesitant to include this story at first.

"Having some distance from it, rereading it, I thought, I want to share this," she told *Call Her Daddy*. "I do want to share this because a lot of what my abortion story is about is my personal loss of privacy. And it is our right to privacy that has been taken away from us. That is how *Roe v. Wade* got reversed. I just think I'm not a bad person because I've had an abortion, and you get to disagree."

While she respects those who disagree with her decisions, Washington emphasized the importance of women having the right to choose and have bodily autonomy. She said that she struggled with shame over getting pregnant at the time.

"It really invited me to figure out how to stand up for myself and my boundaries more, how to be more honest with myself in the moment, and how to stay in my body," she said.

The *Scandal* abortion scene enraged conservative groups when it aired in 2015. Media Research Center, a conservative media watchdog, called the inclusion of the procedure "Hollywood's moral depravity on full display" at the time.

Showrunner Shonda Rhimes previously shared that the reactions to the scene, despite the network ABC's hesitations, weren't very negative.

"When that episode came out, I thought the reaction was going to be so much stronger… which is always awesome when it's not," Rhimes explained of the moment in 2016. "Because the fans are always much more enlightened than, you know, the studio lawyers are."

HAVANA (AP) — Cuba is preparing to receive its first shipment of Russian oil this year, just days after the government announced it was operating on natural gas, solar power and thermoelectric plants as severe power outages continue to hit an island whose power grid is crumbling.

The Russian-flagged Anatoly Kolodkin is some 3,000 nautical miles from Cuba in the Atlantic Ocean and is expected to reach the island in 10 days, Jorge Piñón, an expert at the University of Texas Energy Institute, told The .

If so, that would mark the first time any oil shipment from any country reaches Cuba in the past three months given a U.S. energy blockade.

The tanker is carrying 730,000 barrels of fuel and is on the list of vessels of its type sanctioned by the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom following the war in Ukraine, Piñón said.

Tracking a second vessel

Another vessel, the Hong Kong-flagged Sea Horse, is also reportedly carrying Russian oil to Cuba, transporting approximately 200,000 barrels of diesel, Piñón said.

He noted that Cuba consumes roughly 20,000 barrels of diesel per day, and that the Sea Horse's cargo does not necessarily cover overall demand for diesel given the island's low storage inventories.

Piñón believes the fuel will likely be used for "critical sectors of the economy," such as transportation and agriculture.

He said it would likely take four days for the Sea Horse to reach Cuba if that is indeed its destination.

Piñón noted that the ship lingered for 20 days in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean before deciding to continue its west-southwestward journey. It is some 958 nautical miles from Matanzas, Cuba.

The difficulty in tracing the ship's destination lies in the fact that some of these vessels — amid tensions caused by international sanctions or threats of capture by the United States — turn off their satellite tracking devices, preventing effective monitoring, experts say.

If the arrival of any of the two ships is confirmed, it would be the first shipment of Russian oil this year. The previous shipment detected was transported by the Ocean Mariner with 85,000 barrels from the port of Pajaritos, Mexico, on Jan. 9.

On Thursday, Gen. Francis Donovan, head of the U.S. Southern Command, said in Senate testimony that his officers are tracking a Russian destroyer supported by an oil "replenishment ship" that is scheduled to make a port call to Cuba. He said the oiler, even if it does unload its cargo, is unlikely to have any significant impact on Cuba's oil supplies.

In response to senators' questioning, Donovan said his command is not currently rehearsing for any military intervention in Cuba and its sole planning focus is on protecting the U.S. Embassy and military base in Guantanamo Bay, although if needed it can also respond to any migration or humanitarian crisis in the Caribbean.

Deepening crises

Cuba produces barely 40% of its petroleum; the rest is obtained from Russia, Mexico and Venezuela.

But critical shipments from Venezuela were halted after the U.S. attacked the South American country in early January and arrested its then-leader, President Nicolás Maduro — a key commercial and ideological partner for Cuba.

In late January, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to impose tariffs on any country that sells or supplies oil to Cuba. That month, Mexico halted its oil shipments to Cuba.

The situation has deepened the island's energy and economic crises, leading to 10-hour blackouts, forcing a reduction in working hours, limiting transportation and leading to a drop in tourism — previously one of its main sources of income.

The worsening situation also has sparked small protests.

Cuba has been experiencing a severe economic crisis since the beginning of this decade due to tightened U.S. sanctions, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and an internal financial reform that triggered inflation.

Food and medicine shortages have become a reality for Cubans. Meanwhile, the crises have unleashed a surge in emigration, particularly of young people and skilled workers, to the United States, Mexico and Europe.

This week, as part of an ongoing international convoy to help Cuba, European activists delivered more than four tons of medical supplies to the island. More aid is expected to arrive Friday via plane and Saturday via a large flotilla, including solar panels, medical supplies and nonperishable food collected by activists in Mexico. Among those expected to travel to Cuba aboard the flotilla are British Parliamentarian Jeremy Corbyn and popular Irish hip-hop trio Kneecap.

Trump has said he is prepared to take Cuba by any means necessary; and the Cuban government, while acknowledging talks with the United States, has defended its sovereignty.

VILNIUS, March 19 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump's envoy John Coale said on Thursday ‌he was "getting great progress" in reconciling Russian ally ‌Belarus with its neighbour Lithuania, a NATO and European Union member.

The two countries' relationship has been deteriorating since 2020 when Lithuania sided with protesters in Minsk after President Alexander Lukashenko declared himself the winner of Belarus' contested presidential election.

Lithuania has since ‌accused Minsk of orchestrating a flow of migrants through its borders, encouraging cigarette smugglers using high-altitude balloons that have caused over dozen closures of Vilnius airport and, most recently, seizing hundreds of Lithuanian trucks.

Coale said he met with Lithuanian leaders this week "to try and solve some of ‌their problems" with Belarus, and then raised Lithuania's concerns during hours of talks with Lukashenko on Thursday.

"I think we're getting great progress with that", he told Reuters after the meeting, which resulted in Lukashenko releasing 250 political prisoners ‌and U.S. removing some of its sanctions.

"Lukashenko understood that these kind of irritants are no good," Coale said.

On the issues of ‌cigarette smuggling and truck seizures, "I think that Lukashenko is in the mindset that these are not too important issues, and they're worth giving up," Coale said.

In December, Coale ‌said Lukashenko had promised he would stop the balloons flying into Lithuania.

A video posted by TMZ shows Taylor Frankie Paul attacking ex Dakota Mortensen in 2023, after she was arrested for alleged domestic violence.

The influencer's rep responded to the leaked video in a statement to PEOPLE

The footage comes in circulation shortly after local law enforcement confirmed to PEOPLE that there is an open "domestic assault investigation" regarding Paul and her ex-boyfriend

Footage of Taylor Frankie Paul attacking Dakota Mortensen in 2023 shows that a child was present during her physical outburst.

The video, which was posted by TMZ on Thursday, shows Paul hitting Mortensen as he records her actions. "This is called physical abuse," he says while filming. At one point, she can be seen throwing chairs at him while her daughter, Indy, now 8, was present in the room. The child can be heard crying as Mortensen and Paul continued fighting.

At one point, Mortensen exclaims, "Your daughter just got hit in the head by a metal chair."

The 2023 indictment obtained by PEOPLE alleged that Paul threw "heavy, metal chairs" at Mortensen and Paul's daughter was struck by a chair during the incident, which matches what occurs in the video.

Paul — Mormon Wives star and the original founder of MomTok — was previously arrested for alleged domestic violence in 2023 following an argument with Mortensen, with whom she shares 2-year-old son Ever. She pled guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault, which means that if she complies with the conditions of the plea, that charge will be dismissed. Meanwhile, the other charges have already been dismissed.

A spokesperson for Paul tells PEOPLE, "It's sad to see the latest installment of his never-ending, desperate, attention-seeking, destructive campaign to harm Taylor without any regard for the consequences for their child. Releasing an old video, which conveniently omits context, on their son's birthday is a reprehensible attempt to distract from his own behavior. Thankfully, the public has seen this act before and knows who he is and sadly, many will recognize this pattern of manipulation, both in his actions on the show, and from their own experiences."

On Monday, March 16, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE that The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives halted filming for season 5. One insider cited "some pretty serious stuff happening" regarding Paul's past.

"They will see what happens," the source added. "Until that resolves, they are off."

Another source close to the cast confirmed to PEOPLE that the fellow members of MomTok are distancing themselves from Paul as the situation continues to unfold. "None of the women want to be associated with her," the source noted.

A spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department confirmed that there is an open "domestic assault investigation" regarding Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. The spokesperson confirmed "allegations have been made in both directions" and "contact was made with involved parties on [Feb] 24th and 25th." The spokesperson declined to share more amid the ongoing investigation.

TMZ was first to report the halt in filming. Reps for Paul, Mortensen and Hulu did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment. Paul's season of The Bachelorette is set to premiere this Sunday, March 22, on ABC.

The shocking production pause comes days after Hulu released the fourth season of Mormon Wives. The latest season was rife with drama among the members of MomTok, including the bombshell news that Paul spent the night with Mortensen the night before leaving to star in the forthcoming season of The Bachelorette.

Despite police involvement, multiple sources have told PEOPLE that the exes continue to co-parent their 1-year-old son, Ever, with Paul having majority custody. Paul also shares two kids — daughter Indy and Ocean, 5 — with her ex-husband, Tate Paul.

"His number one priority here is protecting [their 1-year-old son], Ever," a rep for Mortensen told Entertainment Weekly on March 18.

"He knew there was a possibility it could come out, but he was not going to be the one to proactively do that because he has always wanted a decent relationship with Taylor," the rep continued. "It's been really hard to achieve that, but he wants to co-parent well."

A source close to the mom of three previously denied to PEOPLE that the reality TV star was "violent" during the February incidents and said that she remains "focused" on the upcoming Bachelorette premiere. She broke her silence following the news of the investigation at a press preview of her dating show stint on March 17.

"Honestly, just like, my heart hurts to see it, to go through it, especially at this time," she told PEOPLE exclusively. "Just the timing is hard, and it's a big deal. I feel like every premiere that I've experienced, I've never enjoyed fully, so this is another one... it's extremely hard, and it took everything to get me here today."

Those close to Paul are reportedly concerned for her, as a source with knowledge of the situation told PEOPLE. The insider claimed Paul calls Mortensen "all the time," often between the hours of 10 p.m. and 3 a.m.

"We're all worried for Taylor's well-being," said the source. "We want Taylor to get the help she needs."

Russell's move to Colorado nearly 50 years ago allowed him to embrace nature while keeping up with his Hollywood career

There's one element of Kurt Russell's humble beginnings that he continues to enjoy even today: a log home.

In a Tuesday, March 17 Wall Street Journal feature, The Madison actor, 75, opened up about his and partner Goldie Hawn's shared passion for the modest, traditional style.

"Our Old Snowmass, [Colo.] home is my favorite," Russell tells the outlet. "It's a large, beautiful log-cabin lodge on a ranch that we moved into a little over 40 years ago."

Russell tells the outlet his love for log homes goes back to his early childhood. Growing up, the Hateful Eight star lived in a log cabin in Rangeley, Maine, that his grandparents built in 1939.

After his father, a minor league baseball player, left the sport due to an injury, Russell's family relocated to Florida before eventually settling in California. There, Russell followed his father's footsteps and began to pursue an acting career.

Eventually, Russell and Hawn, now 80, met on the set of The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band in 1967. They met again later in 1983 while working on the film Swing Shift. It was then, 43 years ago, they agreed, "Let's have fun until we don't."

Today the couple splits time between their homes in Los Angeles, Palm Desert, Calif., New York and Old Snowmass. Russell notes, "We love real estate."

"Goldie and I share a passion for log homes," he says. "I never got that out of my system, starting with the one in Maine."

"I like to wake up in bed each morning looking at the mountains out back," he says. "I like to head down to the barn, saddle up a horse and ride. I also like zoning out in front of the living-room fireplace."

In a conversation with Men's Health, published on March 14, Russell revealed he moved to Colorado when he was 26. He says he made the decision in order to "live the life I wanted to live."

"My business was still primarily out of Los Angeles, so my life's been split, going back and forth," he says. "I'm glad I did what I did. I've enjoyed my life the way I've wanted to and I've been able to continue on the business too. I was able to make that happen."

Russell's owned experience in the American west is something he'll utilize in his new show, The Madison, which he stars in alongside Michelle Pfeiffer.

"My history with fly fishing, for instance, goes way back. So I guess it's something that came naturally," he tells Men's Health.

The Madison is available to stream on Paramount+, with the next three episodes out March 21.

The Duggar family, led by Jim Bob and Michelle, rose to notoriety in 2008 with their TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting (previously titled 17 Kids and Counting and 18 Kids and Counting)

The series was canceled in 2015 after the couple's eldest son, Josh, came under fire for child molestation allegations, before he was sentenced to more than 12 years in prison in 2022 on child pornography charges

In March 2026, Jim Bob and Michelle's son Joseph was arrested after he was accused of molesting a 9-year-old girl in 2020

Much of the Duggar family's life has played out on the small screen.

In 2008, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar welcomed TLC cameras into their home, introducing everyone to their sprawling brood on 19 Kids and Counting (previously titled 17 Kids and Counting and 18 Kids and Counting).

Viewers followed the devout Christian family through courtships, marriages and new babies until controversy struck in 2015 when Jim Bob and Michelle's eldest child, Josh Duggar, was accused of molesting five underage girls when he was a teenager, two of whom were his younger sisters.

The show was swiftly canceled after Josh's molestation scandal and years later, in 2022, he was sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography.

Another scandal hit the famous family in March 2026 when another son, Joseph Duggar, was arrested after he was accused of molesting a 9-year-old girl in 2020.

Here's everything to know about the Duggar family and where they are now.

Michelle and Jim Bob's eldest son Josh and his wife, Anna, wed in September 2008 and have seven children, whose names all start with the letter "M."

The couple share daughters Mackynzie, Meredith, Maryella and Madyson and sons Michael, Marcus and Mason. Meredith, Mason and Maryella were born after their father's molestation scandal, and the couple announced their pregnancy with their seventh and youngest child, Madyson, just a week before Josh was arrested for receiving and possessing child pornography. She was born that October while he awaited trial.

On April 29, 2021, U.S. Marshals arrested Josh and charged him with receiving and possessing child pornography, some of which included photos and videos of children younger than 10. During a virtual court appearance in Arkansas the next day, he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Later that year, on Dec. 9, 2021, Josh was found guilty on both counts. The following May, he was sentenced to 151 months — more than 12 years — in prison and was ordered to pay fines and special assessments of $50,100. He is currently serving his sentence in Seagoville, Texas, with a release date currently scheduled for Dec. 23, 2032, per the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Prior the his sentencing, Anna penned a letter to the judge in which she called her husband a "loving, supportive and caring father."

The Duggars' second eldest daughter, Jill, wed Derick Dillard in June 2014 in Springdale, Ark.

"I am the most blessed man to have Jill," Derick told PEOPLE after their nuptials which, per custom, saved their first kiss for last.

In April 2015, the couple welcomed a baby boy, Israel David, followed by son Samuel Scott in 2017. Jill and Derick welcomed their third baby, Frederick "Freddy" Michael, in July 2022.

Sadly, in April 2024, the couple announced the stillbirth of their "beautiful baby girl, Isla Marie Dillard." Jill was four months pregnant when the child died in utero.

Since quitting the 19 Kids and Counting spinoff Counting On in 2017 and subsequently distancing herself from her family, Jill has embraced a life without some of the strict rules she was raised with.

The certified midwife got a nose ring, enjoys the occasional alcoholic drink, wears jeans (Duggar women are expected to wear long dresses or skirts only) and even modeled modest swimwear. She's also been outspoken about her sex life with Derick and shared that they use non-hormonal birth control.

Jill and Derick appeared in the 2023 docuseries Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, in which Jill reflected on her brother Josh's numerous scandals and spoke about how she wasn't compensated for starring in her family's two TLC shows. "I never received any payout — no check, no cash, no nothing. For seven and a half years of my adult life, I was never paid," she said in the docuseries.

In September 2023, Jill and Derick released a memoir titled Counting the Cost.

Amy Duggar King and Dillon King

Known as the "rebellious cousin," Amy Duggar is the daughter of Jim Bob's sister Deanna and made frequent appearances on 19 Kids and Counting, where her less-conservative upbringing made her stand out from the rest of the family.

"For me, growing up was all about shorts, tank tops, country songs and boyfriends," the reality star previously told PEOPLE. "I love the Lord and I love my family. I'm just not born to live exactly the way they do."

After a short engagement, Amy married longtime friend Dillon King in a country-chic wedding on the grounds of Horton Farms near Bentonville, Ark., in September 2015. The couple appeared on Marriage Boot Camp in 2017, where they worked on the issues in their marriage and ultimately decided to stay together.

The pair welcomed their first child together, son Daxton Ryan, in October 2019.

Dillon experienced a health scare in early 2025, and he was "diagnosed with a severe diaphragmatic rupture — an extremely rare and dangerous condition that has caused vital organs, including his kidney and parts of his digestive system, to shift into his chest cavity."

In October 2025, Amy told PEOPLE his health issues were "connected to Celiac disease" and that "changing his diet has already made a big difference."

That same month, Amy released her debut memoir, Holy Disruptor.

If you or someone you know has been a victim of sexual abuse, text "STRENGTH" to the Crisis Text Line at 741-741 to be connected to a certified crisis counselor.
