Carol Burnett and Vicki Lawrence are together again!

Burnett, 92, first started working with Lawrence, 76, in 1967, when her sketch series The Carol Burnett Show premiered. Though Lawrence is 16 years younger than Burnett, her most famous character was "Mama," the mother of Burnett's Eunice Harper Higgins. The sketches featuring Mama and Eunice, called "The Family," proved so popular that they were expanded into the 1982 TV movie Eunice and then the 1983 sitcom Mama's Family, which ran for six seasons.

Now, the pair are reuniting in season 2 of Apple TV's Palm Royale. On the series, Burnett plays Norma Dellacorte — and Lawrence joined in season 2 as Norma's mom, Lottie.

"Being with Vicki again was like old times," Burnett told Parade in an article published Dec. 31. "I mean, it was as if all the years had not passed, and here we are again together."

Burnett said Palm Royale showrunner Abe Sylvia was the one who suggested casting Lawrence. He asked her, "How would you feel if we have Vicki on?" and she said, "Of course, I was thinking the same thing."

Burnett continued, "So it was really such fun. And when she showed up on the set, you know, it was, as I say, it's like the years just washed away. And here we were again, you know, Carol and Vicki together."

Burnett told Parade Lawrence wasn't that surprised to be asked to play Burnett's mother again. "What happened was Abe Sylvia called Vicki and said, 'Okay, we would like you to be on the show, and you'll be Carol's mother.' And Vicki said, 'So what else is new?'" Burnett told the outlet.

"Here she was playing my mother on my show when we did 'The Family' sketches," she said. "She was 24 years old when she played mama, when we first cast her."

Sylvia told Parade that their mission for season 2, which premiered in November, was to "make the entire season a love letter to Carol." He said, "There are Easter eggs throughout the 10 episodes – but our triumph in this regard was the gift of reuniting Carol with Vicki Lawrence."

Sylvia said that he wasn't worried about people buying that Lawrence was Burnett's mother. He said he told the actresses, "because of [Mama's Family], Vicki has been Carol's mama in the public's consciousness for 50-some odd years. I think we're good in this regard."

Lawrence told TV Insider in an interview published Dec. 31 of the reunion, "It was very comfortable and so good to see Carol and so good to meet all those lovely ladies that I'm a fan of. It was a fun set, a fun group."

The series also stars Kristen Wiig, Allison Janney, Kaia Gerber and Leslie Bibb.

Lawrence noted that she and Burnett see each other "quite often." "We laugh a lot," she said. "We went to one of the local restaurants one night, and she invited some friends. When we left, the maitre d' said, 'I haven't heard that much laughter in this restaurant ever.' It's always good to see her and reminisce about the good old days."

Palm Royale streams on Apple TV. New episodes are released on Wednesdays.

Brit Eady and her husband Mike Cunningham are separating after five years of marriage.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, 37, announced the news of their split via Instagram on Wednesday, Dec. 31, writing in part, "I'm posting this on the last day of 365 to remove this facade of faking like this marriage is going to work."

Eady continued: "Everybody can't come into the next chapter. I'm done hurting and I want to be happy in my next chapter. Cheers to 2026 of putting my happiness first 🥂 ✌🏽 (And for the record as much as I can't stand him, we are not going to create a false narrative that I'm walking away because of any fake made up rumors)."

The former Bravo star included a longer statement alongside a professionally staged photo of herself and Cunningham, plus a slide with the phrase "... & ima come out of every storm like it was never raining." The post is set to Usher's 2010 song "Papers."

Writing that she's now realized "disrespect" is what "triggers my toxicity," Eady elaborated on how she's "learning not to let people pull me out of character."

"I can be chill, fun, easy to get along with ...I can vibe with anybody. But the second I feel disrespected, everything in me shifts. My peace goes out the window, my patience disappears, and that soft version of me turns sharp real quick. I'm self-aware enough to know I'm a good woman. I'm kind, I'm genuine, I'm understanding, and I always try to lead with love," she said. "But that's exactly why disrespect hits so deep ... because I know how much grace l give before I ever lose it. When I snap, it's never random, it's a reaction. What you put in is what you get out of me."

She continued: "Still, I'm learning. Learning not to let people pull me out of character. Learning that not everyone deserves a response. Learning that peace is better than proving a point. Because growth isn't about never being triggered... it's about recognizing what triggers you and protecting yourself before you get there. Know your triggers. Guard your peace. Stay away from the people, places, and situations that force you to become someone you've worked too hard to outgrow."

PEOPLE has reached out to Cunningham for comment.

Eady and Cunningham tied the knot in a 2020 ceremony. Eady explained why they didn't have a traditional reception in an episode of RHOA that aired in March 2025.

"Because it was during the pandemic, we went to the courthouse, filed our paperwork, and we just did a zoom saying our vows," she said, adding, "I was a little sad about that, but being a wife was way more important."

During the same RHOA episode, Eady also shared the story of how she and Cunningham initially connected.

"I met Mike when I launched my insurance agency. And Mike was my client so I didn't want to date my client so we became friends. And probably about two or three months of him FaceTiming all the time, I was like, 'Wait a minute, I'm going to watch out for you,'" she recalled.

The reality star continued: "We dated and we went on our first trip to Vegas and I said, 'Mike, I'll come to Vegas with you but you not getting none.' When I tell you we had the best time. I was like, 'Okay, he might be the one.'"

In June, Eady filed a lawsuit against Bravo, NBC and production companies True Original and Endemol Shine North America based on allegations of defamation, emotional distress, sexual harassment and a hostile work environment. The notice cites an incident in episode 5 of RHOA's season 16, in which former cast member Kenya Moore displayed sexually explicit images of someone she claimed to be Eady.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Eady is suing for $20 million in damages and requesting the episode be taken down.

Bravo declined to comment when contacted by PEOPLE at the time.

Kim Kardashian's daughter, North West, 12, garnered negative attention online on Thursday following a series of social media updates that show her hanging out with an adult without her parents' supervision.

Netizens blasted Kardashian for allowing her daughter to travel unsupervised through New York City on New Year's Day.

"It's disturbing to me how North is always out and about by herself, I don't care if she has security with her, she is 12 years old!!" one user commented.

Several others also questioned Kardashian's parenting style and raised concerns over North's public appearances and interactions, given her young age.

On New Year's Eve, North West was spotted in New York City with her friends, including 25-year-old American rapper and singer Babyxsosa. In an Instagram post, North posed with a friend and the rapper in front of the Rockefeller Center.

Babyxsosa, whose real name is Jasia Makayla Abrams, posted multiple stories highlighting her day out with the 12-year-old. North also interacted online with the hip-hop duo Homixide G*ng, as she reposted their story mentioning her.

North's interactions with adults who are almost twice her age drew criticism from netizens who slammed her mother, Kim Kardashian. Several users expressed concerns over North's situation, with some speculating that she was being forced to grow up too soon.

One Redditor commented, "North needs to be hanging out with middle schoolers, not adults who have jobs and can be old enough to be her mom."

Another person compared the situation to that of Britney Spears and Amanda Bynes, who rose to fame at a young age before burning out.

"This is way too much for her age," they said.

A third user alleged that Kardashian was modeling her daughter's public presence after the early 2000s party girls and teenagers, such as herself, Lindsay Lohan, and Paris Hilton.

North West's parent-run social media account is proving quite divisive

North made her social media debut in December 2025, with an Instagram account, which her parents allegedly manage. However, her posts have proven quite divisive among netizens, with many finding them inappropriate for a 12-year-old.

On December 26, North shared a series of pictures, sporting designer clothes, limited-edition accessories, and custom diamond teeth. The post quickly went viral, garnering 2.2 million likes with many praising North for her bold look, calling it "cool" and "iconic."

Other users criticized her upbringing and accused Kardashian and North's father, Kanye West, of poor parenting choices.

"Her mother has spoiled her," one user commented, while another said, "She is badly brought up."

In 2022, West had criticized his ex-wife's decision to start a shared TikTok account with their daughter. However, Kardashian defended the choice at the time, arguing that she was doing her best to protect their daughter "while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision — because it brings her happiness."

Kim Kardashian is reportedly focused on co-parenting with Kanye West

On an episode of the reality show The Kardashians, which aired on December 11, 2025, Kardashian discussed her parenting style, revealing she often allowed her children to sleep in her bed.

She also touched upon her dynamic with her four children, who were born during her marriage to West. She shared that they helped her remain grounded, stating, "Anytime I need a reality check, anytime I need to be so humbled, I just go home."

In December, Kardashian and West reportedly spent Christmas together with their children following years of feud after their divorce in 2022.

"They were surprisingly cordial and focused entirely on co-parenting. It wasn't about them. It was all about the kids," a source close to the family said. They also claimed that West "wants to show up for his family," and Christmas was the first step in that direction.

"What could possibly go wrong?" Netizens express concern over North West's public appearance

For generations across the South, black-eyed peas have traditionally been served on New Year's Day.

The dish is associated with a "mystical and mythical power to bring good luck" in the year ahead, according to writer John Egerton in his book "Southern Food: At Home, On the Road, In History."

For years, Cracker Barrel served as a reliable last stop for displaced Southerners trying to uphold a New Year's Day tradition. If black-eyed peas weren't simmering at home, they could be ordered alongside cornbread and country sides.

Now, that option has quietly disappeared.

Cracker Barrel Restaurant Chain Pays Thousands To Students, Settling Discrimination Claims

Cracker Barrel once routinely served a traditional New Year's Day fare at its restaurants, touting complimentary black-eyed peas for customers in social media promotions — but that seemingly stopped a few years ago.

"We're operating during our usual hours and serving our standard menu on New Year's," Cracker Barrel told Fox News Digital in a statement.

Black-eyed peas, a traditional New Year's Day menu staple in the South, have all but disappeared from Cracker Barrel (not pictured) and other restaurants.

When asked specifically about the black-eyed peas, Cracker Barrel did not respond.

"Black-eyed peas in the South [are] a super-huge traditional food for New Year's Day," said celebrity chef Jason Smith, a judge on the Food Network's "Best Baker in America" and the winner of "Food Network Star," Season 13.

Cracker Barrel Or Waffle House? The South's Most Heated Food Debate Returns Amid Logo Saga

The meaning of the meal stretches back to Civil War times, the Kentucky-born chef said.

When Union troops raided Southern food supplies, they often overlooked black-eyed peas, supposedly considering them animal feed. That made them a staple food for Southerners during a time of scarcity and a symbol of good fortune, according to Elevating Kitchen.

The dish also endured because it was accessible.

Cracker Barrel told Fox News Digital it's serving a standard menu on New Year's Day.

"Another reason was black-eyed peas [were] cheap to buy and could feed a huge family," Smith told Fox News Digital.

Alongside collard greens, associated with money, and cornbread, symbolizing gold, black-eyed peas became a cornerstone of the Southern New Year's table.

Cracker Barrel Bets On Free Pancakes, Hearty Fall Menu To Win Back Diners After Logo Flop

That ritual extended beyond home kitchens to restaurant tables, including Tennessee-based Cracker Barrel.

Sarah Moore, Cracker Barrel's chief marketing officer, told Fox News Digital last year that menu decisions reflect a balance between regional tradition and national footprint.

Sarah Moore, Cracker Barrel's chief marketing officer, told Fox News Digital in May that the company wants to balance its national footprint with a "localized regional strategy."

"I think there are two strategies here," Moore said in May. "I think, first and foremost, what we will focus on as we continue to evolve the menu is a localized regional strategy as well. We operate in 44 states. I think we have a great opportunity to bring more localized flavors and regionality into our menu."

At the same time, Moore emphasized the brand's identity, which faced public scrutiny last year amid its abandoned logo change and restaurant redesign.

"But the other side of it is that destination menu — [the] country comforts and classics that we're known for," she said. "So, we will continue to look and evolve as to how we bring those country classics in and keep all the classics that everybody loves about Cracker Barrel on the menu."

Moore acknowledged the emotional pull of the traditional New Year's meal.

Cracker Barrel returned to its old logo after facing public backlash.

"I actually do make it every single year," she said. "I am married to a man from Kentucky."

Moore added, "It is something we will continue to look at as we build out our pipeline."

Rachel Love, a Tennessee mother and self-proclaimed Cracker Barrel lover who championed its classic look and criticized its failed makeover, told Fox News Digital that black-eyed peas were a New Year's Day staple at her dinner table.

"My mom would have a pot of black-eyed peas simmering on the stove for good luck in the year ahead," Love said. "She'd scoop up a spoonful, hold it out and say, 'Here, try it. You don't want to start the year off with bad luck.'"

Love also recalled her late grandmother's routine.

"During the years [that] black-eyed peas were offered as a side, she would get hers from Cracker Barrel, ordering the Country Vegetable Plate," Love said.

Customers are seen dining inside a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store restaurant in Stuart, Florida.

Smith said he still turns to restaurants to serve them when circumstances require it, acknowledging that mom-and-pop eateries in the South are among the last to do so.

David, Brooklyn and Victoria no longer follow each other on Instagram as of December

The Beckham family's rift will seemingly carry into 2026.

On Jan. 1, Romeo Beckham, the 23-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham, noticeably excluded his older brother, Brooklyn, in an Instagram recap of his 2025.

The roundup included multiple photos of Romeo hanging out with his younger brother, Cruz, 20, and a sweet snapshot with his sister Harper, 14, on a jet ski. Romeo also shared a photo taken with his mom at what appeared to be a party.

In addition to not including Brooklyn, 26, in his post, Romeo tagged his mom, dad, and all of siblings, except for the Cloud23 founder underneath a "Love you all" in the caption. He also wrote, "Thanks 2025 now off to an even better 2026."

Only a day before, David made headlines for also sharing family photos in which Brooklyn was absent. In his caption, the former athlete wrote that he felt "very lucky" to have lived incredible moments in 2025, from celebrating his 50th birthday to getting knighted by King Charles.

"I'm so grateful to my incredible wife, my amazing children, my friends and team I work with every single day[,] nothing would have been possible without you all...," David added, "But as Sir Alex Ferguson would say 'Onto the the next'," he continued. "Thank you for the incredible memories I will forever remember 2025 @victoriabeckham I love you & our kids."

Roughly eight hours after sharing the post, the former soccer star then shared old photos of him and Brooklyn to his Instagram Stories. One of the pictures was one of him and his eldest and the other a group photo with Victoria and their four children. "I love you all so much," he wrote, as well as, "I love you all, Love Daddy x. On to 2026."

In December, Victoria, David and Brooklyn continued to spark speculations about their rift after they all unfollowed each other on Instagram. Brooklyn also no longer followers either of his brothers on Instagram, nor do they follow him back. The same goes for for Nicola Peltz, who Brooklyn wed in 2022, which is when the alleged tensions among the Beckhams began over Nicola's wedding dress.

Cruz later claimed that his parents were unexpectedly "blocked" by Brooklyn.

Earlier this year, a source told PEOPLE that the rift rumors between the pair were true, while a second insider told PEOPLE that the dress situation is "far from the truth."

A source also told PEOPLE earlier this year that mending the Beckham family rift hasn't been easy. "Every time they finally have a happy moment, it all falls apart again," the insider explained. "They've tried to make peace."

"Brooklyn feels torn. It's his family and blood, but he's always had a complicated relationship with his dad. A lot of their relationship has felt like 'business,' " they added.

The holiday season also appeared to point to the status of the family's relationship with Brooklyn, who opted to spend it with his wife and her family. On Dec. 26, the Lola actress, 30, shared a series of Instagram photos of herself posing in front of a Christmas tree with Brooklyn and her parents, Nelson Peltz and Claudia Heffner Peltz.

Guy Fieri's son is waving goodbye to being a teenager.

The Food Network star's youngest son Ryder turned 20 on Wednesday, Dec. 31. To honor his entry into a new decade, the Tournament of Champions creator shared a sweet and silly Instagram post.

Guy shared several photos of the San Diego State sophomore in the birthday post. One shot showed the father-son duo smiling with their arms around one another, another picture was a photo from his other son Hunter's wedding and two pictures captured Ryder and his girlfriend Sophie.

View this post on Instagram

Among the smiley shots was a video of Ryder wakesurfing on a lake. Ryder had a rope connecting him to a boat in his hands but, rather than a surfboard under his feet, the now-20-year-old stood on the Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives star's back.

Guy is shown laying with his stomach on a surfboard and holding his own rope connected to the boat in his hands. In the clip, people out of frame applaud the duo. Guy throws up a "rock on" hand sign before letting go of his rope, the pair riding the waves behind the boat before the video ends.

The lighthearted nature of the post continued in the caption, where the celebrity chef described Ryder as "an amazing son, a hard working student, a devoted boyfriend, and an awesome terrorizing little brother."

"I know you didn't always appreciate your Dec 31st bday when you were younger… but now I think your perspective has changed lol," he wrote. "Mom, the entire family and I are so proud of you on all levels."

A few months ago, Guy praised Ryder for the speech he delivered at Hunter and Tara Bernstein's summertime wedding. "The mic drop of the whole wedding was Ryder," he told PEOPLE. "He did a speech that was not only funny, but endearing and so well presented."

"When he got done, you would've thought that our favorite team had just won the Super Bowl," Fieri recalled. "People were out of their chairs."
