Zach Bryan has confirmed his marriage to Samantha Leonard.

Bryan, 29, took to Instagram on Wednesday, December 31, and shared a black-and-white photo of him carrying Leonard, 28, as she sported a strapless white bridal gown with a feathery hem. The happy couple smiled as Leonard held a wine glass.

"Tougher than the rest," he captioned his post, which also included a video of him performing the Bruce Springsteen song with the same name at their wedding reception.

Earlier Wednesday, the country star was spotted holding Leonard in his arms after exchanging vows in Spain, multiple outlets reported. A video posted via Instagram showed the newlyweds laughing as they hopped into a convertible and drove off into the proverbial sunset.

The day before the wedding, Bryan shared a photo of him with his guy friends, adding a caption that cited lyrics from the Black Eyes Peas' "I Gotta Feeling." On December 29, Bryan posted a clip of him crooning a heartfelt song on the guitar that seemingly referenced his upcoming nuptials.

"I made a woman fall in love and made our young hearts cry," he sang. "I'm on an aeroplane bound to Spain tonight."

On Wednesday, Leonard posted a clip via her Instagram Stories in which she and Bryan touched down on an airplane.

The couple were first linked in August. That October, Bryan paid tribute to his new love via Instagram, writing, "From bull runs to all the bulls***, today is your birthday and I love you Samantha Marie. To the only woman who can hike six miles in Chanel flats, skydive over the alps and catch a bigger fish than me all in the same day. Hope your day was as graceful as you are."

Brianna Chickenfry Says Zach Bryan Picked Out an Engagement Ring for Her

Sparks flew between Bryan and Leonard one year after his not-so-amicable split with Brianna "Chickenfry" LaPaglia, whom he dated from the summer of 2023 up to fall 2024.

"Brianna and me [sic] have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart. She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that, I'll always thank her," Bryan said in a statement in October 2024. "I've had an incredibly hard year personally and struggled through some pretty severe things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways. I am not perfect and never will be."

LaPaglia, 26, has said that the breakup blindsided her and accused Bryan of being emotionally abusive. (Us Weekly reached out for comment at the time. Bryan hasn't responded to the allegations.)

LaPaglia's fans, meanwhile, have noted the physical resemblance between her and Leonard.

"Next question is [one] that I got a million times. 'What do you think about Zach's girlfriend looking exactly like you?'" LaPaglia said during an October episode of her "Plan Bri Uncut" podcast. "I think that is narcissism textbook 101, like, that's what narcissists do. They just go and find another version of you to date."

She continued, "People are like, 'Are you creeped out? Are you mad? Are you flattered?' I am flattered to be honest. I dyed my hair so that people [would] stop sending me every single picture that he posts of her, and I blocked him. I don't wanna see this [and] I don't want to indulge in anything that he does."

- Tamara Smart portrays Thalia Grace, the demigod daughter of Lance Reddick's Zeus, on *Percy Jackson and the Olympians*.

- Showrunner Dan Shotz said that Reddick's wife Stephanie urged him to consider Smart for the role.

- Smart previously portrayed Reddick's on-screen daughter on Netflix's *Resident Evil*: "There is something so magical about her."

A year after his death, Lance Reddick inspired a key casting decision for *Percy Jackson and the Olympians*.

Dan Shotz, the showrunner for the fantasy-adventure series, explained in a recent Instagram post how the late *John Wick* actor guided the decision to cast Tamara Smart as Thalia Grace, the demigod daughter of Reddick's Zeus.

"After a worldwide search to find Thalia for @percyseries, in mid-July '24, I got a call from Stephanie Reddick, the wife of the late, great @thereallancereddick, saying there is this young actress you should take a look at for Thalia," Shotz wrote on Dec. 26 alongside a carousel of photos with Smart.

The showrunner recalled Stephanie saying, "She played Lance's daughter on another series, she is very important to our family and there is something so magical about her. No pressure, just take a look at her tape."

Shotz wasn't confident that the recommendation would pan out. "All I could think about is how do I tell Stephanie Reddick that most likely this isnt going to be the person," he wrote. "Then her tape came in (woah), then I met her (oh my), then she read with @walker.scobell and his first words after the read were… 'we are casting her, right?' Magical is so the right word."

The showrunner went on to praise Smart's talents. "[She] is a force, a talent with a deep, profound soul and I know she is honoring Lance with every word that comes out of her mouth," Shotz wrote. "Thank you to Stephanie and Lance Reddick for finding us our Thalia."

Smart previously portrayed Reddick's on-screen daughter in Netflix's *Resident Evil* series in 2022. The actress explained how the Reddicks introduced her to the Disney+ iteration of *Percy Jackson* in a conversation with **.

"I remember the first season of *Percy Jackson* coming out, and I knew Lance and so I watched it with his wife, Stephanie, and I just loved it," she said. "I remember the second season being announced and since I'd read the books, I knew Thalia was going to be around and I was like, 'I can't wait to see who they cast.' Because I thought I was way too old!"

Smart said that she discussed the project with Stephanie after securing an audition. "I remember immediately messaging Stephanie and being like, 'This is crazy. I am going to do my best for this. I'm giving it my everything,'" she said. "I was trying to stay very calm but this was a very big sentimental thing for me."

The actress said that Stephanie accompanied her to set on her first day of shooting on *Percy Jackson*. "It was such a supportive day. I had Stephanie with me, Lance's wife — she came out for my first day," she said. "It was really emotional but incredible. I felt like I was living this day for Lance and I felt like he was there with me and very proud, so I don't think I'll ever forget that day. It's such a weird twist of fate that I'm even on this show, and I'm also very grateful to the legacy that they've left for Lance and the way that they've been so respectful about it."

Reddick died at 60 on March 17, 2023, from a combination of coronary artery disease and atherosclerotic heart disease. Smart told EW that *Percy Jackson* helped her grieve her former on-screen dad.

"Watching [season 1] very much helped me heal on my grief journey with Lance," she recalled. "And as much as I was so excited and honored to be a part of the show, I found it quite difficult at times because shooting the show is a constant reminder of Lance in what now, I think, is the best way. But at the time, I found it very difficult to handle. I was a lot more emotional, and a lot of scenes just felt very charged for me because they were being related to a place that was so deep-rooted in my heart. That was something that I definitely struggled with."

Courtney B. Vance took over as Zeus in season 2 of the series, and Smart said that meeting the actor for the first time was a "beautiful" experience. "I remember him shooting last season and he did a minute of silence for Lance, which was just such a beautiful ode to him before he ever even played the character," she recalled. "I remember him snatching the mic out of our assistant director's hand and being like, 'Hey, we're not shooting yet. This is what we're doing.' He's incredible, and I can't wait for everyone to see how truly, truly incredible he is in this show."

- Sigourney Weaver said her daughter, Shar, recommended she play the "really awful woman" antagonist in 2003's *Holes*.

- Weaver said she thinks that her daughter "knew I would enjoy it."

- The *Avatar* actress believes her character "was so damaged [and] probably had some PTSD that was still active in her."

Sigourney Weaver received sage career advice from an unlikely source.

The *Alien* actress recently told *Vanity Fair* that her daughter, Shar, recommended that she play the villain in the 2003 movie *Holes*.

"*Holes* is funny because my daughter, who was about 8, was given *Holes* to read in school," Weaver remembered. "One day, she came up to me and she said, 'Mom, there's this really awful woman in my book and you should play her.'"

The *Gorillas in the Mist* actress said that she was touched by the recommendation. "I remember being very proud of her that she was able to separate from the book and be able to say to me, 'There's a really awful person and you should play her, Mom,'" Weaver recalled. "'Cause I think she knew I would enjoy it."

In the film, Weaver portrayed Warden Louise Walker, the head of the juvenile detention program at Camp Green Lake. The warden forces a group of children including Stanley (Shia LaBeouf) and Zero (Khleo Thomas) to dig holes as part of her secret plot to uncover an outlaw's lost treasure.

"The warden is quite a creation," Weaver said of her character. "I mean, really nightmarish from a children's point of view."

The actress said that a key piece of the warden's backstory made her empathize with the cruel antagonist. "What I found so unexpectedly touching about the warden was that she had spent her childhood looking for that treasure, doing what she had the boys doing non-stop," Weaver recalled. "The idea that she was so damaged probably had some PTSD that was still active in her. So she was driven to continue to look."

Why Sigourney Weaver got slapped for real in 'Alien' deleted scene

The *Working Girl* star explained how that backstory inspired her to urge director Andy Davis to afford the warden one tiny victory at the film's conclusion. "That's why in the last scene, I think before she's taken away, I said to Andy, 'You have to let her see what they've found, and then she can rest,'" Weaver said. "And so then I did get to see [the treasure] in the back of the car."

Weaver can currently be seen in *Avatar: Fire and Ash*, in which she plays Kiri, the teen Na'vi daughter of her previous character Grace. Kiri's relationship with her quasi-adoptive brother, Spider (Jack Champion), has romantic undertones, but Champion told ** that their on-screen rapport felt natural despite the unusual dynamic of Weaver playing a CGI character who's 60 years younger than her.

"Sigourney is Sigourney, she's so good at acting, and we're literally in a performance-capture Volume where it's gray," Champion told EW. "We know that our imagination is our main weapon. So when she's acting, it is very unique, but it was so easy 'cause she's such a good actress. I just reacted off her. So, I guess, it wasn't that hard, and it wasn't insane. After the first couple days, maybe it was unique, but I really think that pretty much immediately it was just so easy."**

- *Boston Blue*, a spinoff of *Blue Bloods*, follows Donnie Wahlberg's Danny Reagan to Beantown.

- The CBS series recast Danny's son, Sean, played by Andrew Terraciano on *Blue Bloods*.

- Mika Amonsen now plays the character on *Boston Blue*.

Don't be blue, *Blue Bloods *fans*.* Donnie Wahlberg's Danny Reagan is carrying the torch on *Boston Blue*, a spinoff that premiered in October 2025.

The series follows Danny from New York City to Boston, where he cozies up to a family of local law enforcement officials not so unlike his own back home. But it's his son, Sean, who first brings Danny to Beantown. The series begins with Sean, now an officer in the Boston Police Department, getting injured in a blaze at an office building.

As played by Andrew Terraciano, Sean Reagan was a key character on all 14 seasons of *Blue Bloods *(2010–2024). It was a surprise, then, when CBS confirmed to ** last July that Mika Amonsen would take over the role on *Boston Blue*.

Why was Sean recast for *Boston Blue*? Here's everything we know, including what Terraciano and Amonsen have said about the decision.

In October, *Boston Blue* co-showrunner Brandon Margolis revealed that the choice to recast Sean Reagan was driven by the narrative direction he and the creative team wanted to take the character. Speaking with *Variety*, Margolis said they "love" Andrew Terraciano's work on *Blue Bloods*, but the spinoff represents "a new chapter" for both Sean and Danny.

"It's not just Sean who has joined the family business as it were and is turning over this new leaf, but it's also now Danny Reagan is the father to a cop, which he's never been before," he continued. "So there are all these new storytelling lanes to explore. It felt like there was an organic opportunity to bring in a new performance with a new energy, to help dramatize that change."

Here's everyone from 'Blue Bloods' who appears in Donnie Wahlberg's spinoff 'Boston Blue'

Margolis reassured fans that "it's the same character, it's the same relationship, but it's also completely different."

He added, "We love what Mika has brought to Sean, this vulnerability, yet this desire to prove himself. It's just been great to watch it come to life."

What has Andrew Terraciano said about the recasting?

In an interview with* Us Weekly*, Terraciano spoke for the first time about being replaced in the *Blue Bloods *universe, saying he learned about the recasting on the day he graduated from college in May 2025.

"They had spoken to my mom and she called me [crying]," the actor said, recalling how he and his family were told that producers "might be looking for a different Sean." Terraciano said Wahlberg called him soon after, which he described as a "really beautiful moment of getting to hear from an old friend but also somebody that you respect so much and have learned so much from."

He added of working with Wahlberg, "We had such an amazing experience on *Blue Bloods* that when we talk we'll always be friends and family first. I'm happy that there are so many other people that now get to share in that amazing experience."

Despite the recasting, Terraciano said he's grateful for his years playing Sean Reagan, calling the role "beautiful" and noting that he will "always remember every single line and every day" he spent on set.

He also stressed that Sean is in good hands, saying, "It doesn't mean for even a second that somebody else can't go and do something beautiful with it."**

How has Mika Amonsen addressed taking over as Sean Reagan?

Mika Amonsen as Sean Reagan on 'Boston Blue'

Christos Kalohoridis/CBS

In November, Amonsen revealed to *Us Weekly* that he's received some "negativity" over the recasting, but added that many fans are embracing the change. "They're really enjoying the show and they love where it's going in terms of Sean and that makes me happy," he said.

Amonsen added that he's tried to honor the "character that everyone loves" and also Terraciano's portrayal, while still finding his own version. The actor said the turnaround was quick, as he was cast within a week and "thrown into it quickly." He dove into* Blue Bloods *to understand Sean's development and relationship with Danny by the end of the series,

He further admitted that the early days were stressful. "I definitely felt a ton of pressure at first," he said. "I felt the pressure to respect an actor before me because I wanted to respect Andrew the best I could."

**Warning: This article contains spoilers for Mayor of Kingstown season 4 finale, "Belly of the Beast."**

For Jeremy Renner, no one could've killed Merle Callahan (Richard Brake) other than Kyle McLusky (Taylor Handley) in the *Mayor of Kingstown *season 4 finale. **

The actor, who headlines the Taylor Sheridan co-created series as town power broker Mike McLusky, tells ** that while his character had a fair share of reasons for wanting to kill Merle, it was ultimately more important to let his brother Kyle be the one to pull the trigger, given Merle murdered his wife Tracy (Nishi Munshi). **

"That's one way to sort of… not really protect, but help forge a path for healing because of what [Merle] did," Renner explains. "There was no other pathway."

After escaping Anchor Bay, Merle finds and kills Tracy before surrendering himself at the local police station. It's there that Captain Walter (Rob Kirkland) gives Det. Ian Ferguson (Hugh Dillon) carte blanche to do with Merle as he sees fit, leading him to drive the escaped convict to a showdown with the McLuskys at the railroad tracks. **

It's there that Kyle shoots Merle and, overcome with emotion, continues to fire at his dead body, prompting Mike to step in and take the weapon away from his younger brother before he could hurt himself or anyone else. The siblings make it only a few feet away from the grisly crime scene before Kyle completely breaks down and begins to sob in Mike's arms.

"The beautiful end of it all is at least they [Mike and Kyle] have each other," Renner says of the poignant moment between the brothers. "That was something I really had to fight for [at] the end of this show. It was very, very, very important to at least give the audience that. Give them something good." **

He continues, "The beautiful part for us is the release of that toxic character and then the two brothers falling into each other — and at least they have each other through it all. So that's some kind of hope, right?"

Mike spent the majority of *Mayor of Kingstown* season 4 trying his best to shield Kyle from harm while his brother was locked away in Anchor Bay. As for how Kyle and Mike will move forward after such a tragic season? Well, we'll have to keep our fingers crossed that *Mayor of Kingstown* gets greenlit for a fifth season to find out. Until then, we can at least take refuge in the knowledge that the McLuskys are together again.**

- *Mayor of Kingstown* wrapped its fourth season on December 28.

- The season finale finds Mike chasing down escaped prisoner Merle Callahan, an Aryan who murdered the wife of Mike's brother.

- It also culminates in a gang war between the Crips and Colombians with no definitive winner.

Justice is served in the ugliest way possible during the *Mayor of Kingstown*'s season 4 finale.

Blood and betrayals have come fast and furious this season. Mike (Jeremy Renner) orchestrated the arrest of Frank Moses (Lennie James) to help facilitate the release of his brother, Kyle (Taylor Handley), from prison. But Kyle is suicidal after his wife, Tracy (Nishi Munshi) is murdered by Callahan (Richard Brake), who was furious over Kyle's refusal to join the Aryans.

Meanwhile, Nina Hobbs (Edie Falco), the season's new warden, is collapsing under the weight of her debt to the Colombians, who've forced her into doing their dirty work.

The finale begins with the long-simmering gang war between the Crips and Colombians about to boil over, while Mike, Kyle, and Ian (Hugh Dillon) are determined to make Callahan pay for Tracy's murder. First, however, they need to survive the masked shooters that opened fire on them at the end of the penultimate episode.

Ready to break down the *Mayor of Kingstown* season 4 finale? Let's rock.

Does Kyle get revenge on Callahan?

Kyle's had a hard season. An incarcerated cop behind bars, he's got a lot of targets on his back, and Mike's coziness with the Crips can only help him so much. Callahan spent much of season 4 trying to worm inside Kyle's head and lure him over to the Aryans in order to undercut Mike, but Kyle managed to resist his twisted siren song.

Tragically, his strength resulted in the murder of Tracy, whom Callahan killed upon escaping from prison. And though Kyle eventually gets his revenge, it's as ugly as it is satisfying.

After outflanking the gunmen sent to kill them at the diner, Mike, Ian, and Kyle beat and torture one in order to ascertain Callahan's whereabouts. They don't get much, but it's clear that Callahan is still within the city limits. Mike and Ian vow to reach him before the local police can. In their eyes, he deserves old-school justice.

But Callahan, sensing their murderous intent, turns himself in to the police station. Ian tries to sneak him out back, but Captain Walter (Rob Kirkland) throws him in an interrogation room.

Walter, though, has come to a similar realization as his corrupt colleagues. "An evil man can never go right," he muses, acknowledging that prison isn't punishment for someone like Callahan. "F---ing hell is his home," he says. "Ain't nothing in our laws or philosophies to contain this."

He wipes his hands clean and turns to Ian, muttering, "He was never here." The captain then allows Ian to leave with Callahan after all, knowing full well he intends to kill him.

Thus, Ian brings Callahan to Mike at the railyard, ready to make him pay.

Who wins the gang war — the Crips or Colombians?

With the Russians vanquished from Kingstown at the end of season 3, several competing forces have worked to undermine the Crips for control of the city's underworld.

There was Detroit gangster Frank, who tried to take down Crip leader Bunny (Tobi Bamtefa) before Mike intervened. And then there are the Colombians, who have a terrifying ally in Cortez (Derek Rivera), a hitman with leverage on Hobbs.

Hobbs, we learned earlier in the season, is doing their bidding to protect her daughter, who's being threatened by the cartel. Her complicity has facilitated a drug smuggling operation through the prison that's lent them a foothold in Kingstown.

With Frank imprisoned, Bunny has aligned the Crips and Detroiters, giving him the manpower to "take out Bogotá" both inside the prison and outside of this. "End this s--- proper," he says.

As Bunny assembles his forces, he tasks Kevin (Denny Love), a prison guard and mole, to mobilize the Crips behind bars.

Hobbs has had the prison on lockdown to prevent an all-out battle between the gangs, but Mike convinces her to lift it. "Let it bleed and close it up and cauterize it," he says.

When the lockdown lifts, shivs fly and bodies fall. Kevin, who's spent the entire season fearing he'll be killed for his alliance with the Crips, is among the dead after he's knifed in the throat by a Colombian.

On the streets, Bunny ambushes the Colombians' headquarters, where they capture Cortez. Mike tells him to keep Cortez so they can find out who he reports to, but the hitman manages to escape, killing several Crips on his way out. It's very likely he'll return with a vengeance next season. Lest we forget, he previously told Mike that his associates are less interested in gang leaders like Bunny than they are "knights and rooks, mayors and kings."**

So, while the Crips seem to have gained the upper hand, their dominance is not secured. Not only is Cortez still in the wind, but Frank could very well pull some strings behind bars to ensure they don't stay in power.**

Mike is waiting for Ian and Callahan at the railyard. There, Callahan mocks him, saying that killing him won't assuage Mike of his guilt. "You'll find new cause for nightmares, no doubt," he remarks.

But Mike doesn't plan on killing him. "You don't deserve my wrath," he says, and it's revealed that he summoned Kyle, who spent much of the episode in the ruins of the old McClusky house, which was burned down by Callahan and his allies. With Callahan in the wind, it seemed as if Kyle would pull the trigger on himself.

But Kyle arrives, shaking off Callahan's cracks about his wife's murder. "You're gonna wonder, wonder, wonder what I did to her," Callahan says with a grin.

A straight-faced Kyle unloads a round into Callahan's groin, sending him to his knees in shrieks of pain. When he puts his gun to Callahan's forehead, we see fear in his eyes for the first time. And with that, Kyle kills him, then unloads three more bullets into the body.

"It's over," Mike tells him. "You got him."

They walk across the tracks before Kyle breaks down, hugging Mike and sobbing into his arms.**
