Dealing with emotional problems head-on can often be the best way to move forward. That's what Jennifer Lopez decided to do following her divorce to Ben Affleck.
The actress and singer says that she put her career on hold to cope with what she was going through at the time. The two got married in 2022 after rekindling a romance which began decades earlier. She filed for divorce in 2024. Considered a pioneer for Latino Americans in Hollywood, Jennifer says getting well again after her split with Ben was the most important thing for her.
JLo had to "sit in what had happened"
Facing the fallout of another failed marriage was the best recipe for J.Lo to get well. Speaking to Good Morning America, the star of the film Selena said that after filing for divorce from Ben, her career was secondary for a long time. "I had to stop everything, and I took a year off," she said. Her This Is Me… Live tour was cancelled in 2024, shortly after she'd filed for divorce.
Upon breaking up with Ben, J.Lo says that her focus was on dealing with that and her children. She decided to stay home in the immediate aftermath of her separation and "sit in what had happened," she said. Jennifer shares twin girls with her third husband, Marc Anthony.

Her opening up about the highly publicized divorce to Ben seems like a big shift for the Jenny from the Block singer. In October, she appeared to be caught off guard during a live interview on the Today Show. She was asked about her breakup with Ben by co-host Craig Melvin.
By all accounts, Jennifer is taking a break from dating but is said to be happy and doing a lot better personally. Her movie, Kiss of the Spider Woman, which was produced by Ben, premiered in US theatres last October.
