Amid Timothy Busfield's child sex abuse case in New Mexico, a rep for the *West Wing* alum addressed separate sexual assault accusations from a former costar.

Actress Claudia Christian, who costarred with Busfield on the 1991 film *Strays* when she was 26 years old, accused the now 68-year-old of grabbing her, throwing her against a wall, and kissing her while they were rehearsing lines in his trailer, according to a police interview obtained by *The Mirror US*. "He had an erection and he shoved his tongue in my mouth and I pushed him off and I ran out of the trailer," Christian reportedly claims in the police interview.

In a Jan. 20 hearing, prosecutors argued that Christian allegedly reported the incident to an assistant director at the time. At the hearing, New Mexico prosecutors brought it up to argue that Busfield had a history of making inappropriate advances.

"I will not waste my time nor the public's commenting on thirty year old unproven allegations with an adult woman, which are totally irrelevant to the current case," Busfield's lawyer Larry Stein said when contacted for comment from **.

Stein previously denied the allegations to TMZ, noting that the *Thirtysomething* star has not been criminally charged with assaulting Christian, 60.

"The current case, which has destroyed his reputation and career, is about an allegation regarding prepubescent boys," Stein told the outlet. "There is absolutely no connection between 35-year-old allegations regarding an adult woman and prepubescent boys."

Christian told the *Mirror US* that she hadn't sought the authorities after the alleged incident in the '90s because she didn't believe much would come from her speaking out. "They 'might' have spoken to him but I doubt it. I very much doubt they would have started an investigation based on my report," she admitted.

Christian claimed she would have probably been "blackballed from working," if she did speak out against Busfield. "That was the reality back then in the pre-'Me Too' days, unfortunately," she added.

Although Christian told *Mirror US* that she isn't expecting "justice" in any way for herself, she called the allegations against Busfield a "pattern of a long term behavior and a sad comment on the fact that men like him got away with this kind of behavior for ages with little or no penalty."

She further claimed, "I was a young woman when he assaulted me and I was able to move forward with little trauma from the incident, but a child does not have the capacity to understand nor process this sort of behavior from an adult and that is why he needs to be stopped, now."

News of Busfield's arrest in January spurred Christian to speak to authorities about her allegations. In the warrant obtained and reviewed by EW, the actor-director has been accused by twin 11-year-old boys of inappropriately touching them when they worked together on Fox's *The Cleaning Lady*. One of the children claimed that Busfield, who served as a director and executive producer on the show, touched his "private areas" on more than one occasion, and the same child was subsequently diagnosed with PTSD and anxiety per an initial criminal complaint.

Busfield surrendered to authorities on Jan. 13 and denied all allegations against him.

"I'm going to confront these lies," Busfield said at the time. "They're horrible. They're all lies. And I did not do anything to those little boys, and I'm going to fight it. I'm going to fight it with a great team, and I'm going to be exonerated."**

The day after his surrender, Busfield faced another allegation of sexual abuse. As set forth in a prosecutor's motion, the allegation came from a man who said that the *Field of Dreams* actor sexually abused his 16-year-old daughter during an audition in Sacramento, Calif., that occurred "several years ago." Busfield has not been charged in connection with this allegation.

Busfield is currently facing four felony counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor (a child under the age of 13). A grand jury in Bernalillo County, N.M., indicted Busfield on those four counts on Feb. 6. Two of the charge dates are listed as Oct. 19, 2022, while the other two are listed as Sept. 11, 2023. He officially pleaded not guilty on Feb. 11.

Court records indicate that an initial witness list was submitted on Feb. 13, and that Busfield waived his arraignment on Feb. 11.

Busfield could be sentenced to at least three years in state prison if he is found guilty of the alleged child sex abuse.
