Savannah Guthrie's Today show family is sending their love to her from across the country.

The 54-year-old co-host of the NBC morning show has been with her family in Tucson, Ariz., as the search for her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, continues.

And in New York City's Rockefeller Center, Savannah's co-workers are showing their support. After Arizona residents put out yellow ribbons and flowers around Nancy's neighborhood as a show of remembrance, Studio 1A followed suit.

"We got a suggestion from one of our viewers and we're doing the same here," Hoda Kotb, who has been filling in for Savannah, shared during the Wednesday, Feb. 18 broadcast. "We have yellow roses around Studio 1A and we're all wearing ribbons as we send our love to Savannah and her family."

Jenna Bush Hager, Al Roker, Hoda Kotb, Craig Melvin, Carson Daly and Sheinelle Jones on the 'Today' show on Feb. 18.

Kotb and co-anchor Craig Melvin were first spotted wearing the yellow ribbons on their outfits and the camera later panned to show the entire studio filled with bouquets of yellow roses.

The two were later joined by Jenna Bush Hager, Al Roker, Carson Daly and Sheinelle Jones, all wearing the yellow ribbons.

One of Nancy's neighbors, Laura Gargano, told PEOPLE that the idea for the use of yellow came from another local resident and explained the meaning of the color.

"Some of us put flowers at the front of Nancy's house, while others who may not have wanted to go down to Nancy's house, put ribbons on their mailboxes," Gargano shared. "The yellow ribbon is a sentiment of hope and support after someone goes missing. I believe the use of the yellow ribbons goes back to hostage-taking in the 1970s."

According to the National Museum of American Diplomacy, the display of yellow ribbons became popular in 1979 when 52 U.S. diplomats were held hostage in Iran. The wife of the highest-ranking hostage started the movement, which was inspired by the song, "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree."

Thanks to nation-wide attention due to the Today show co-host's connection to the case, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told NBC News that authorities have been able to use resources and public tips to the best of their ability.

"I think a lot of that is [the] Today show, you know, you're in everybody's family," Nanos told Liz Kreutz. "So they look at this and look at Savannah and go, 'This is us.' "

Nancy was abducted from her home in the early morning hours of Feb. 1. Surveillance footage shared by the authorities from Nancy's doorbell camera showed an armed, masked intruder disabling her camera.

After the release of the images and video of the suspect, the FBI Phoenix office described him as "a male, approximately 5'9" - 5'10" tall, with an average build.

The search for Nancy is into its third week, with local authorities and the FBI investigating her disappearance.

A $100,000 reward has been offered for any information leading to Nancy's recovery or an arrest in the case.

Anyone with information about Nancy Guthrie's disappearance is asked to please contact 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the Pima County Sheriff's Department at 520-351-4900.

Jason Segel and Samara Weaving go head-to-head in a new dark comedy.

PEOPLE has the exclusive trailer for Over Your Dead Body ahead of its March premiere at SXSW. Segel, 46, and Weaving, 33, star as a married couple who both resolve to end tension in their marriage by plotting to kill the other.

"A dysfunctional couple head to a remote cabin to supposedly reconnect, but each has secret plans to kill the other," teases a synopsis for the movie.

Timothy Olyphant, Juliette Lewis, Paul Guilfoyle and Keith Jardine also star in the movie, directed by The Lonely Island's Jorma Taccone in his first effort as a movie director since the 2016's Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.

"I've never laughed harder on a movie set," Weaving tells PEOPLE. "It's almost impossible to keep a straight face when you're across from Jason Segel improvising and Jorma Taccone is standing behind the monitors firing off insane ideas. And I genuinely admire the entire cast. The strongest performance I gave on that set was convincing everyone I wasn't completely starstruck by them."

Taccone, 48, says the movie is simply "funny, bloody [and] unexpected" and notes that the film is a remake of a 2021 Norwegian movie titled The Trip, directed by Tommy Wirkola. (Wirkola, 46, is credited as an executive producer and co-writer here.)

"We went to saunas and jumped into freezing-cold lakes together. We made stupid home movies and music videos together. We all had Thanksgiving together in Finland," Taccone says of filming Over Your Dead Body.

"I was the all-powerful father figure and they were my obedient children who listened to every word out of my mouth. Just kidding about that last part," he jokes. "We had a blast together, and it was a joy to make."

For Weaving, the high point of the new film is a blend of horror and comedy that will target "the same muscle in your stomach," she says. "Everyone will leave the theater with a six-pack. PEOPLE has an exclusive preview of the tribute episode

General Hospital is honoring one of Port Charles' brightest stars gone too soon.

The Friday, Feb. 20 episode of the ABC soap opera will pay tribute to late actor Tony Geary and his iconic character Luke Spencer. Geary died at age 78 on Dec. 14, 2025, while his character Luke died on the show four years prior.

In a PEOPLE exclusive preview of the episode, Luke's wife Laura (Genie Francis) tearfully speaks to her late husband's spirit while sitting in a church pew.

"I know you're not here on this earth with us anymore, but Luke, you never left me, never once," she says in the clip. "I feel your presence when life gets too heavy. When I feel like I can't go one more step, it's your voice that I hear calling me angel, reminding me of who I am. Then, somehow, I find the strength, and I do go on."

According to the show's official synopsis, Luke and Laura's daughter Lulu (Alexa Havins Bruening) finds herself grappling with unprocessed grief because she was in a coma at the time her father died.

Sparked by a photograph, Lulu — alongside Tracy (Jane Elliott) — sets out to honor Luke in a way that feels true to who he was, drawing Laura, Sonny (Maurice Benard), Carly (Laura Wright) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) into a day of shared memories, humor and reflection.

Through intimate conversations, flashbacks and personal rituals, each character confronts how Luke shaped their lives, culminating in a collective celebration that affirms his enduring presence in their hearts. The episode closes on a quiet, hopeful note honoring Luke's legacy as a force of love, chaos and connection that continues to permeate Port Charles.

Since his debut as Luke in 1978, Geary played the character on-and-off until his retirement in 2015. (He returned for a one-time appearance on the show in 2017.)

Throughout the actor's time on the soap, Luke and Laura became known as daytime's biggest supercouple, and their 1981 wedding was watched by 30 million people, the most-watched episode in soap opera history. In 2022, the show killed Luke off-camera.

After Geary died on Dec. 14, 2025 following complications from an operation three days prior, Francis paid tribute to her costar, whom she called a "powerhouse as an actor."

"Shoulder to shoulder with the greats," she said. "No star burned brighter than Tony Geary. He was one of a kind."

"He spoiled me for leading men for the rest of my life," she continued. "I am crushed, I will miss him terribly, but I was so lucky to be his partner. Somehow, somewhere, we are connected to each other because I felt him leave last night. Good night sweet prince, good night."

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC (check local listings).

Shia LaBeouf had one thing on his mind following his day in court: food. The Disturbia actor was spotted at a restaurant in New Orleans wolfing down some pub-style food shortly after having to defend himself for an alleged incident in the French Quarter of the city. That's where a brawl reportedly ensued on Monday. Police were called out to the scene.

Shia just relocated from Los Angeles to the Big Easy in December. He and British actress Mia Goth broke up last year.

By all accounts, Shia didn't make a solid first impression in New Orleans. The actor was arrested on Monday for allegedly punching a bar employee. That led to a series of fights, according to reports. He's been charged with two counts of simple battery.

His first court appearance was on Tuesday for an initial hearing. TMZ reports that 50 minutes after his 3pm local time appearance, he was at the pub, chowing down on a burger and fries while drinking a cold glass of water.

As you might imagine, the actor got plenty of attention from people inside, and he was happy chatting them up. Supposedly he made no mention of his arrest or where he had been before that. Shia apparently chatted with and congratulated a recently engaged couple while talking Olympics with others and snapping a few selfies.

The alleged brawl ended with paramedics treating Shia for minor injuries. Throughout his career, Shia has faced his share of legal matters. Among them are abuse allegations, along with plagiarism and alcoholism.

In 2021, he had to go through a diversion program after being criminally charged with misdemeanour battery and petty theft. That was in relation to an altercation which took place in June 2020. His last film appearance was in the documentary Slauson Rec, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last May.

Four Democratic members of Congress are asking the top internal watchdogs at16 different federal agencies to investigate whether former lobbyists appointed by the Trump administration may have violated ethics rules to benefit their own former clients.

Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Andy Kim of New Jersey and Reps. Pat Ryan of New York and Deborah Ross of North Carolina wrote to the inspectors general to raise concerns about a variety of former lobbyists-turned-government officials, including Attorney General Pam Bondi, border czar Tom Homan, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and White House chief of staff Susie Wiles.

"While federal ethics law directs federal employees not to work on matters involving clients they represented in the past year, we are concerned that some Trump administration officials may have nevertheless done so," the four lawmakers wrote.

"And even when they comply with that minimal requirement, after a mere 12 months, their former-client relationships often remain fresh enough to improperly sway their decision-making."

They sent the letter to the inspectors general at 16 different agencies, including the Justice Department, the Pentagon, the Treasury Department, the State Department, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Homeland Security and the Environmental Protection Agency.

As of April 2025, there were at least 21 former lobbyists who were appointed to key leadership roles in the government, according to a report by the Campaign Legal Center.

Federal ethics rules generally bar government employees for one year from working on matters involving their former employers or clients. During Mr. Trump's first term in office, he extended the recusal period to two years, though he has not issued any sort of ethics pledge during his second term in office.

Before joining the Trump administration, both Bondi and Wiles worked for the lobbying firm Ballard Partners.

Since Bondi took over the helm of the Justice Department, the lawmakers allege that some of Ballard's clients have received favorable treatment. The department dropped its opposition, for example, to the American Express-GBT merger, the letter says.

The lawmakers also noted that Ballard was retained by both Paramount and Netflix as they both seek to merge with Warner Brothers Discovery. Paramount is the parent company that owns CBS News.

Duffy, meanwhile, used to work as a lobbyist for BGR Group and represented the Partnership for Fair and Open Skies, the lawmaker said. The lawmakers said that since Duffy's confirmation, BGR has "expanded its DOT lobbying roster to 19 clients," from 14 during the Biden administration.

Wiles also previously worked for Mercury Public Affairs — a firm the lawmakers noted reported lobbying the White House for 26 different clients in 2025, the letter says.

The letter also cites concerns about Homan, who until last year was the target of an FBI bribery investigation in which sources say he recorded accepting a bag with $50,000 in cash from an undercover FBI agent as an alleged payment in exchange for future government contracts, sources previously confirmed to CBS News.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche later publicly acknowledged the existence of the investigation and said it was closed after the FBI found "no credible evidence of any criminal wrongdoing."

Homan has also separately denied any wrongdoing and claimed he did not accept any money.

Spokespeople for the Justice Department, the White House and the Department of Transportation could not be immediately reached for comment.

CABIN JOHN, MD – When a collapsed pipe began spewing millions of gallons of sewage into the beloved waterways near the tight-knit community of Cabin John, word spread like wildfire.

So did the smell.

As temperatures rose after a massive winter storm, the stench wafted into homes closest to the Potomac River, making what's considered the toniest part of the neighborhood feel "like being in a port-a-john," according to Jack Mandel, who has lived in the area since the turn of the century.

"Typically, I'll go down there probably four or five days a week, just in the afternoons, at the very least," said Mandel. "And none of us want to get anywhere near it, because we have dogs and kids."

The community, which Mandel playfully describes as "crunchy," is home to many miles of walking and biking trails, canoe and kayak enthusiasts as well as over half a dozen community and environmental groups. The Potomac Interceptor sewer system has been a concern there for decades and the sewage spill, one of the largest in U.S. history, has sparked fears among residents about the lasting impacts on the river.

1 / 0Potomac sewage spill called out by President Trump. See photos.Untreated sewage spills out of the collapsed Potomac Interceptor sewer line next to the Clara Barton Parkway in Bethesda, Maryland on Jan. 23, 2026.

DC Water, the utility authority that operates the Potomac Interceptor, says no new sewer overflow has gone into the river since Jan. 29. But local researchers have detected high levels of fecal-related bacteria and disease-causing pathogens in the river, including E. coli and bacteria that cause staph infections.

"The environmental impact of this, I assume, is going to be fairly devastating," said Mandel, chairperson of the Minnie's Island Community Conservancy.

Community 'heartbroken' over sewage spill

Philip Gray used to enjoy paddling down the river in a canoe or floating in an inner tube, beer in hand, towards his home in Cabin John. But he won't be going in the river for a while now that the nearby waterways have earned nicknames like the "Pooptomac" and "Schitt's Creek," referencing the popular TV show.

More than 200 million gallons of wastewater flowed into the Potomac River after a section of the Potomac Interceptor, a sewer line in the Washington, DC, suburb of Montgomery County, Maryland, collapsed on Jan. 19. Footage from the site shows sewage erupting out of the ground into a typically dry part of the nearby canal and then onward into the Potomac.

Gray, former head of The Cabin John Citizens Association, got a text from a friend about the overflow not long after it happened and went to see it for himself. He said the outpouring of sewage was "astonishing" to witness.

"After you've kind of been walking through and it smells, it's in your nose and stuff," he said. "Even like 20 minutes later, you're wondering, 'am I still smelling it?'"

David Hearn, an Olympic canoeist, and Philip Gray, former head of The Cabin John Citizens Association, chat about repairs to Potomac Interceptor.

David Hearn, an Olympic canoeist, has been paddling on the river for almost 60 years. He and his wife rode their bikes along the canal the day after the collapse and were devastated by what they saw.

"We're just heartbroken over this," said Hearn. "This is a crown jewel of wilderness and white water, placid water, outdoor activity."

'Hope has dimmed' for a swift solution

This is not the first time the Interceptor has caused headaches for the community. Decades ago, an intense odor escaped into Cabin John through vents along the Interceptor, Gray said, and community leaders fought to ensure the charcoal filters designed to control the smell were properly maintained.

"I thought that maybe that was the last I would smell of the gases coming from the sewer pipe, the Interceptor," he said. "But not so, now 26 years later here we are."

And it seems the problem is here to stay. Pumps have been installed to divert sewage around the collapsed pipe, leaving the area with what Gray described as "an open canal sewage situation."

Actual repairs on the pipe, which are estimated to take 4 to 6 weeks, can't begin until a stronger bypass system is activated and the massive rocks blocking the Interceptor can be removed - one by one.

David Hearn, an Olympic canoeist, speaks with Sherri Lewis, a spokesperson for DC Water, at the site of a historic sewage spill.

"You can't just suck that out with a vacuum and it's not like excavating where you can go in with a big claw and dig it out either…you can't just yank everything out, you could potentially cause another collapse and you don't want that either," Sherri Lewis, a spokesperson for DC Water, said as she overlooked the work site.

Seeing the deluge contained offered residents an initial burst of hope, but now "it seems like that hope has dimmed a little bit," said Heidi Lewis, co-president of The Cabin John Citizens Association.

Once the Interceptor is fully operational, DC Water will accelerate plans to rehabilitate more than 2,700 linear feet of the pipe over the course of nine to 10 months, "significantly strengthening its reliability for years to come."

But Heidi Lewis hopes the catastrophe will push DC Water to look for more wastewater solutions.

"It's shown that a 60-year-old pipe is really not equipped to carry the increasing load that it's being asked to carry," she said. "And so this disaster hopefully has them considering much longer term plans on how to handle the growth in communities."

Small suburb thrust into the national spotlight

And now, the trouble that broke out in Cabin John has been thrust into the national spotlight. Nearly a month after the spill, President Donald Trump criticized the cleanup efforts – pointing a finger at Democrats and Maryland's Gov. Wes Moore.

Trump, in a Feb. 16 post on Truth Social, said he would be directing federal authorities to "immediately provide all necessary Management, Direction, and Coordination to protect the Potomac, the Water Supply in the Capital Region, and our treasured National Resources in our Nation's Capital City." He ordered the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which has seen significant staff cuts during Trump's second term, to coordinate the response.

Ammar Moussa, a spokesperson for Moore, accused the Trump administration of "shirking its responsibility," but pledged to "work collaboratively − as we always do − to be responsive and keep the public informed about the federal government's plan to remediate the damage."

Some residents seemed open to the possibility of accepting help from FEMA. But Mandel said he finds the president's comments "really dispiriting" and doesn't believe the issues with the pipeline are a partisan problem.

"It's purely an environmental disaster that needs to be dealt with by people who care," he said.
