You mean you haven't stopped by Sphere Las Vegas to see The Wizard of Oz yet?
If you have, that means you bought one of 2.2 million tickets and contributed to the whopping $290 million in revenue that Sin City's landmark venue has brought in since last August, Deadline reports.
That's all thanks to the re-conceived and trimmed-down version of the iconic film that was released way back in 1939. The Sphere edition is interactive, with drone-controlled flying monkeys and tornado-simulating machines, plus bonus features and merch in the lobby.

The revenue numbers were reported Feb. 12 by Sphere Entertainment CEO James Dolan, who described the AI-enabled title as "an important blueprint for our long-term vision" during a quarterly earnings call with Wall Street analysts, Deadline also noted that day. Dolan, 70, added that an "enhanced" version of Oz is coming later this year.
"I'm not even sure, to be honest, whether we need Wizard of Oz 2.0 with the demand that we're seeing" for the current one, Dolan said on the call, per Deadline. "But we're gonna do it anyway… I think that will probably give that product even more legs."
A report released back in September predicted that The Wizard of Oz will push Sphere Las Vegas to $500 million in gross profits this year. The Hollywood Reporter published the findings on Sept. 8. Such major profits on the horizon beg an enticing question: Will the Sphere — whose screen is 160,000 square feet — recreate other classic films in the future?
And earlier this month, the beloved film was announced to finally be making a comeback to free broadcast television. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Wizard of Oz will air on MeTV this October, marking the first time the 1939 classic has appeared on broadcast TV in 30 years.
MeTV has secured exclusive broadcast rights to the MGM musical, which was once a staple of American television.
