Meghan Markle and Prince Harry might not be receiving the warmest of welcomes during their upcoming visit to Australia.

Thousands have signed a petition voicing their concerns, as the couple gears up for their trip planned for mid-April.

The petition triggered a response from the couple's team, which said people were making a "stupid assertion" regarding the trip.

Within a few weeks, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will touch down in Australia roughly seven years after their last visit to the country.

Instead of applause and fanfare, a group of Aussies voiced their disdain about their trip.

They demanded that the Australian Government ensures no taxpayer-funded support or official resources are offered to the ex-working royals.

Markle's agenda in Australia includes headlining a women's retreat in Sydney, with attendees paying about $3,000 AUD ($2,068 USD) for one ticket.

Prince Harry is also expected to speak at a mental health summit in Melbourne during the trip.

About 39,150 people have so far signed the petition, voicing their concerns about the couple's trip

Nearly 39,150 people have so far signed the change.org petition, decorated with an image of the couple with the text: "We don't want you here."

"As this is a private visit, Australian taxpayers must not fund security, logistics or government coordination," read the petition.

"Since stepping down from royal duties in 2020, they no longer represent the Crown and now operate private commercial ventures based in the United States," the message continued.

The petition pointed out how Australians were grappling with rising grocery bills and fuel prices, in addition to mortgage stress and other cost-of-living pressures.

Hence, the petitioners voiced their disapproval over offering taxpayer-funded support to the couple.

A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said people were making a "stupid assertion"

As numbers on the petition continued to grow, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex clarified that the trip would be privately funded.

"It's a moot point," a spokesperson told the Daily Mail. "The trip is being funded privately, so I'm not sure what this petition hopes to achieve."

Calling the petition "ridiculous," the spokesperson pointed out that the number of Australians willing to offer their signatures was a small portion of the country's population.

"Of course, if you wanted to dive into the ridiculousness of this petition as an agenda for spreading misinformation, then one could equally hypothesise that there are approximately 26.5 million Australians (99.98 per cent of the population) who haven't signed it," the statement continued.

"Who must therefore agree with the taxpayer picking up the tab for their visit," the statement concluded. "Of course, that is another equally stupid assertion to make."

Royal experts said the couple see the trip as a "cash grab" but would face intense backlash

The Sussex's last trip to Australia was in 2018, before they officially stepped down from their roles as senior working members of the royal family in 2020.

They stayed at the Governor-General's official Sydney residence, Kirribilli House and had taxpayer-funded police escort them throughout the trip.

Royal commentators said the couple can expect backlash over the upcoming visit to Australia.

Describing the trip as a "cash grab," royal author Tom Bower told The Daily Telegraph, "Meghan is doing it for money, it's rather grubby … she's monetising her royalty which I think is pretty shabby because she promised the Queen she wouldn't do that."

The Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family author asserted that the trip was "clearly to make money to raise their profile," but the couple would find it "rougher than they anticipated."

Their trip to Australia is like "heading into the hornets' nest – covered in sticky honey," one expert said

Journalist Chris Riches said Prince Harry and Markle's upcoming trip was like "heading into the hornets' nest – covered in sticky honey."

"Prince Harry and Meghan Markle think they will get a red carpet as 'welcomed Royals,'" the expert said, as quoted by Mirror.

He also said the controversy surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was arrested and released last month as part of the investigation into his Jeffrey Epstein ties, was doing no favors to the the Sussex couple's image.

"If ever there was a time for one of their faux-Royals to jet into a country that's expressed the desire to axe Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor from the Line of Succession, it's not now," Riches added.

Netizens did not hold back while sharing their thoughts on the Sussex couple's trip to Australia

Some of the latest drama with the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast has nothing to do with Taylor Frankie Paul.

Instead, it involves stars Miranda Hope and Jessi Draper.

Hope posted a video Thursday addressing rumors that her ex Chase McWhorter, whom she was married to from 2017 to 2024, had been seen kissing Draper at a party over the weekend.

It showed Hope putting on her makeup, with Kesha's song "Backstabber" playing in the background. The words, "GRWM while I process my friend group being a waiting room for my ex-husband," were written across it.

She captioned it, "It's not even a betrayal at this point, it's a tradition."

Hope also shared an image of flowers accompanied by a note that appeared to be signed by Draper.

"I completely understand you being upset with me but wanted to send you a little something to let you know I'm thinking about you," it read, "and I am so, so sorry."

Hope gave a statement, too.

"Unfortunately, I am familiar with this territory," she told Entertainment Tonight. "I knew there had been communication between Chase and Jessi but not to what extent. Then Chase was upfront and told me that they were talking and that they kissed. Jessi reached out only after she knew Chase had told me something was going on with them. And today, at the same time a rumor started spreading online that something was going on with Chase and Jessi, I received apology flowers from Jessi."

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to Draper.

The fourth season of the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premiered in March, but the fifth season halted production earlier this month, too, after police began investigating an alleged domestic assault incident between Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen.

ABC has also since shelved Paul's starring role on The Bachelorette, which had been scheduled to debut March 22. Authorities said this week that a third alleged domestic violence incident is being investigated.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — Rory McIlroy went upstairs in the Augusta National clubhouse the night he won the Masters, eager to see the small locker room only for Masters champions. He returned last month to find another locker room not nearly as exclusive but no less impressive.

"They've created this unbelievable new Player Services Building, and that's where the main locker room is going to be," McIlroy said. "I think the champions will still use the Champions Locker Room. But that new building is IN-CREDIBLE."

He paused to smile before adding, "Take my word for it."

Augusta National revealed some photos Friday on social media of the Player Services Building, created to make the players' experience unlike any other.

Typical of most new structures at Augusta National, the three-story building located just behind the hitting area of the practice range is tucked among trees and looks like it has been there all along.

Players drive down Magnolia Lane, veer to the right and find a circle drive to either valet courtesy cars or go down a ramp, through a tunnel under Magnolia Lane and into an underground garage.

The walls on the corridor leading from the garage have Alister MacKenzie's cross section architecture of every hole at Augusta National.

For being the youngest of the four majors, the Masters' history is a rich as any.

The new locker room that caught McIlroy's attention is on the ground floor, but players can be excused for taking their time when they first arrive. The short hallway has framed letters from Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods to the club thanking them for their week. Woods' letter is from 1997, after his record-smashing win.

The lounge just before the locker room is a tribute to co-founder Bobby Jones, and Augusta National managed to get all four of his trophies from his "impregnable quadrilateral" — Grand Slam — in 1930 when he won the British Amateur, British Open, U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur.

Those are on loan from the Atlanta Athletic Club, to be returned the week after the Masters.

The old locker room, located in the clubhouse and down from the grill room, was small but adequate. The new one is enormous with 100 lockers (the Masters has had fewer than 100 players every year since 1967) with great attention to detail — a safe in each locker, a shelf to charge phones, even the gold-plated "map-and-flag" emblem of the Masters on the handle of each locker.

Name plates already are up in a random order, not alphabetical. McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler and Dustin Johnson have lockers, presumably out of convenience for when they go downstairs to use the fitness center and recovery room.

The six amateurs in the field have lockers next to Masters champions. That wasn't a coincidence.

A sitting area in the middle is framed by two tables. One was made from magnolia wood of a felled tree on Magnolia Lane during Hurricane Helene in September 2024 and holds a large bowl made from the same wood. The other has Masters stationery, perhaps if players get inspired from the letters they read on the way in.

As players leave for the range or the course, there are photos of winning moments from the last five Masters, ending with McIlroy on his his knees after his playoff win. The club also has installed a camera at the end of the hallway for television purposes, similar to players leaving the locker room on their way to center court during Grand Slam tennis events.

More history can be found even in the bathroom. The club is hanging framed letters from over the years, one of them from co-founder Clifford Roberts in 1960 informing players the traditional golf clinic on Wednesday will be replaced by a Par 3 Tournament.

Downstairs is the state-of-the-art fitness center, with a massive area in the middle for stretching, cables and weights along the perimeter and a concrete wall at which to throw medicine balls.

This will be good news for McIlroy. When fitness first became more common, the Masters created a makeshift area in the cart barn. McIlroy heaved a medicine ball at — and through — the wall, leaving a gaping hole.

"We felt the walls and I was like, 'Yeah, this feels pretty sturdy,'" he said. Oops.

The recovery room has three cold plunges and one hot tub, a sauna room and 16 tables for the physical therapists. Leaving the fitness area takes players down another history-filled hallway filled with just over 1,400 name plates for every player to have competed in the Masters.

Convenience, luxury and a great view awaits on the top floor. That's the Magnolia Dining Room with seating for about 150 people and a terrace overlooking the practice grounds for about 150 more. There's a menu and a buffet, a bar and ample televisions.

About the only thing lacking is a reason to leave.

The Players Services Building isn't for everyone, only players and their immediate families, coaches and caddies, trainers and other members of the support team — but no public, no press, no agents.

It's a haven, pampering at its finest, which is what the Masters has strived to deliver all these years while never failing to look to improve.

"This improvement," Masters chairman Fred Ridley said last April, "will offer the competitors in the Masters facilities from arrival until departure unlike anything in sports."

Andrew Garfield may be frequently fancast as Remus Lupin, but the actor has no interest in joining the Harry Potter universe.

Speaking on Hits Radio's My Life in Movies series, the Oscar nominee spoke about watching the franchise for the first time recently. However, he admitted he wasn't sure about where the series stands culturally, amid author J.K. Rowling's transphobia. While he praised the material, he struggled to separate the art from the artist.

The actor had praise for the Harry Potter stars

"I hadn't watched the Harry Potters until recently," Andrew confessed during the interview. This may come as a major shock for fans of the franchise, as the star has been fancast as iconic character Remus Lupin in an imagined prequel series since the beginning of his career, two decades ago.

Andrew went on to praise fellow British actor Daniel Radcliffe, who starred as the titular character in the series. "[Daniel is] really good in those Harry Potter movies," he added. "Those Harry Potter movies were really good."

However, Andrew, a vocal supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, cited mixed feelings about his recent watch of the franchise. "I know it's like controversial. And like, we shouldn't be — you know — putting money in the pocket of inhumane legislation right now through she that shall remain nameless."

The nameless woman is almost certainly J.K., who has used her social media and writing in recent years to push transphobic rhetoric. The author also donated millions to anti-trans groups, who helped bring in the UK Supreme Court ruling that a "woman" is legally defined as assigned female at birth.

Later, Andrew stated that despite J.K.'s peddling of hatred and division, he believes the themes of her books, somewhat ironically, still hold up, even contradicting her current views. "The soul and the spirit of a lot of the essence of the themes of those films," Andrew said, "and the kids are so good."

Nate Smith revealed he threw a drink at Morgan Wallen during the first night of their 2024 tour

Smith said Wallen forgave him for the prank, though others were upset

Smith praised the singer as being "forgiving"

Some drinks go down better than others — just ask country singer Nate Smith.

Smith, 40, revealed in a new interview that he once threw a drink at tourmate Morgan Wallen on stage in a prank that was meant to be funny, but was actually anything but.

The "World on Fire" singer was an opening act for Wallen, 32, on the star's One Night at a Time tour in 2024, and told Billboard's Takes Us Out series that he threw "literally a whole cup" at Wallen on the first night of the tour.

"I was trying to be funny, and it wasn't funny," he recalled. "And Morgan forgave me. He should have kicked me off the tour, but we laughed about it. We talked it through. And he's like, 'Man, I probably would have done the same thing,' or 'I've done the same thing.' Like, he understood."

Wallen may have understood, but not everyone did. Smith said he received "a lot of phone calls" after the incident, which he described as "really serious."

"Nobody was happy about this. Morgan, if you're listening, I love you. I'm still really sorry about that," Smith added. "Thank you for not pranking me back, by the way. You made me think you were going to the entire tour and you didn't. You held back because you're a man who walks in grace. Thank you, sir."

The conversation came about when Smith was asked to share something he'd learned about Wallen that the rest of the world wouldn't know. His answer was that the "I Got Better" singer is "forgiving."

Smith — whose second album California Gold came out in 2024 — appeared last summer on the cover of PEOPLE Health, where he opened up about his 55-lb. weight loss.

The singer said that after experiencing a severe upper respiratory infection, he came up with a plan in November 2024 that included cutting back on drinking, upping his protein consumption and cutting his daily calorie intake to 2,100.

"I think that the physical stuff has really affected my mental health in a positive way," he said. "It's a concept I heard a million times: 'You gotta love yourself before you love someone else,' but it's kinda true. Because I'm not so insecure about myself, it's helped me be more present. And it's changed the way I can love people. I feel free."

Wallen, meanwhile, released his fourth album I'm the Problem in May 2025. He'll head back on the road in April for his Still the Problem tour.

- President Donald Trump claimed that *Love Story *couple John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette would "bicker" and then be "kissing wildly" while at Mar-a-Lago.

- Trump also claimed that JFK Jr. told him he was going to run for office.

- Kennedy and Bessette, who died in 1999, has received a resurgence of fascination thanks to the FX series that dramatizes their relationship.

Donald Trump is sharing his own JFK Jr. story.

During an interview on Fox News' *The Five *on Thursday evening, the president claimed that the late subjects of FX's *Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette* had visited his private club, Mar-a-Lago.

"I actually knew him and liked him, and he liked me, believe it or not," Trump said, claiming that the political scion "actually put me on the cover of his magazine." Though Trump did appear on the cover of *George*, it wasn't until March 2000, nearly a year after Kennedy died.

The president then claimed that JFK Jr. and Carolyn "would go down to Mar-a-Lago together, and they had a very interesting relationship."

"They would bicker together, in other words have little fights, and then they would make up and start kissing wildly," he said.

"It was one of those relationships, and you never know how those relationships are going to turn out," he added. The president also said that he thought Kennedy would have "gone on, perhaps, to be the president."

"He was going to run for the Senate," Trump claimed. "He told me, and nobody would have beaten him."

There has been a resurgence of fascination surrounding JFK Jr. and Bessette thanks to *Love Story*, which ended its record-breaking run on FX last night. The show is a dramatization of the couple's relationship, along with the tabloid media frenzy and family tensions that went along with it.

Kennedy's nephew, Jack Schlossberg, has been openly critical of *Love Story*'s depiction of the late couple. "Well, if you want to know someone who's never met anyone in my family, knows nothing about us, talk to Ryan Murphy," he said during an interview with *CBS Sunday Morning*'s Mo Rocca in March, calling out the FX series' producer.

"I would just want people who do watch the show to watch it with one letter in mind, and that's a capital F for fiction. The guy knows nothing about what he's talking about, and he's making a ton of money on a grotesque display of someone else's life."**

"I would hope that Mr. Murphy would donate some of the millions of dollars of profits that he's making to some of the causes that John championed throughout his life," Schlossberg continued. "Maybe he would donate some of that money to the JFK library to help keep President Kennedy's memory alive, but he's not. He's making money. This is not a documentary. And I'll leave it at that."
