- Whoopi Goldberg called Sunny Hostin's claim "ridiculous" after she said Donald Trump caused the New York Knicks to lose Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Monday night.
- Trump, who attended the game in New York, was loudly booed by fans at Madison Square Garden.
- "We had an impeccable vibe in New York until the orange man showed up," Hostin said.
Whoopi Goldberg has long blamed Donald Trump for many misfortunes in America — but the New York Knicks' loss to the San Antonio Spurs in Game 3 of the NBA Finals isn't one of them.
*The View* moderator and actress pushed back against speculation — including from her cohost Sunny Hostin — that the president's heavily maligned in-person appearance at Monday night's NBA matchup led to "ending the Knicks' winning streak" during the finals.
"No, no, no, come on, now," the 70-year-old said after the audience cheered in agreement. "They were not playing great ball. That's on us. This guy, I have to reiterate the fact that this man does not have that kind of power. We have to remind people."
The camera cut to Hostin, who contorted her face into a skeptical expression as Goldberg continued.

"I see your face and I know how you feel, and you can say what you want," Goldberg advised. "But, by saying that it's his fault that we lost means that there's no responsibility taken. These guys were not playing at their best."
Goldberg turned the conversation over to her cohosts with a final note about security checks leading to increased frustrations near the Madison Square Garden arena, with Hostin saying that local businesses also suffered from the congestion.
"I think there are a lot of conspiracies going around," Hostin said, later explaining that "all of these things may be in play, but for me, what is also in play is that we had an impeccable vibe in New York until the orange man showed up and put the bad juju on the Madison Square Garden."

Guest cohost Sheryl Underwood said she agreed with the sentiment, with Goldberg telling Hostin, "That's ridiculous." Hostin continued, telling the audience that officials would have to "sage the whole Madison Square Garden to get all the bad juju out" after Trump's appearance.
"It cost New York millions of dollars [for him to] come to the game where he was not cheered, where he was booed, and he fell asleep," Hostin said, after many speculated that Trump actually dozed off during the game.
"Fall asleep somewhere else, don't bring your bad karma vibe to New York," Hostin continued, while Underwood asked, "Why didn't he just stay his ass in D.C. and watch from the house? Watch from the house like other Americans watch from the house!"

Donald Trump at the New York Knicks game on June 8.
** has reached out to the White House for comment.
Trump's appearance at the NBA Finals in New York was met with a loud chorus of boos inside Madison Square Garden. The president was poorly received, with Knicks fans making it clear they disapproved of him being there.
After the game, Trump reacted to the boos while he spoke to reporters.
"You mean when they had the camera on me?" Trump said, fumbling for words. "I thought it was very good, yeah. It was certainly amazing."
