"Hi friends, I’m back out of the hospital," she captioned the post. "I had to do an emergency abdominal surgery. There was a bowel obstruction in my small intestine. They had to decompress my stomach, flush out of intestines and remove and reattach a small part of my small and large intestine."
Katja continued, "I was in the hospital with an NG tube down my nose, into [my] stomach, pumping fluid up and out of my body for 10 days without being able to eat or drink. It was absolute hell on earth. But the tube is gone, I am eating and drinking, and am back at home.
To conclude the post, she shared, "Thanks to the surgical team at Cedars Sinai especially Dr Matthew Bloom and Dr Sydney Caputo (sp?) and shoutout to Nurse Audrey for being a baller. Hallelujah. 🙏🌈."
On May 5, Katy took to her Instagram Stories to share a message with her followers, along with an apology.
"We are sorry to announce that our Netflix Is a Joke Festival show on May 9th must be postponed as Katya focuses on her health and recovery following a medical procedure," the update began.
Katya continued, "Thank you for your patience, support, and understanding. Please hold on to your tickets — a rescheduled date should be announced shortly."

The news came less than a week after Katya posted a photo via X of herself in a hospital bed with what appeared to be nasal cannulas and a feeding tube. "Girl I’m in body jail #hellonearth," she captioned the post.

Someone else exclaimed, "Girl, WTF! Hope you’re OK."
Another fan shared, "Hope you feel better soon!" as a different X user wrote, "Sending you love and fast recovery, sis."
Meanwhile, yet another fan commented, "We love you, FEEL BETTER!!!!"
Katya first competed in Season 7 of RuPaul's Drag Race in 2015. She placed fifth overall and snagged the Miss Congeniality title. In 2016, she returned for RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 2, finishing as the runner-up.
