Rowan Blanchard is returning to television in a "dream" way.
Blanchard, 24, has been acting since the age of 5, and played Riley Matthews in the Boy Meets World sequel series, Girl Meets World, on Disney Channel from 2014 to 2017.
Now, she is playing Shunammite on Hulu's The Testaments, a sequel to The Handmaid's Tale based on author Margaret Atwood's 2019 novel.
The coming-of-age series centers around a group of young women attending a preparatory school in Gilead. Chase Infiniti, Lucy Halliday and Ann Dowd round out the cast.

"It feels like such a privilege to get to act in something that has such a beautiful and large fan base, and there's so much history attached to it and it was really, really a dream," she exclusively told PEOPLE at The Testaments premiere at The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on Tuesday, March 31.
She shared that the cast "all really, really got along" and had a lot of fun memories together. "I would say towards the end, I guess we were all playing a lot of games...Scrabble," Blanchard explained.
While on Girl Meets World, Blanchard's cast also consisted of famous faces, including Sabrina Carpenter, who played Riley's best friend, Maya Hart, and members of the original Boy Meets World series, like Danielle Fishel and Ben Savage.

“When we started filming the pilot, I went back and watched episodes [of Boy Meets World] and I realized this was special because it was television that was aimed toward children but was talking to them — rather than talking down to them — and making these lessons inclusive," Blanchard said in a 2016 interview with The Cut.

"There are some things on that show that you just don’t see anymore," she added.
Over the years since Girl Meets World ended, the actress has made appearances in Snowpiercer, Crush and Poker Face.
