Issa Rae is aware that some Insecure fans are still unsatisfied with how the series ended. When the acclaimed comedy concluded its five-season fun on HBO in December 2021, Rae's leading character Issa Dee rekindled her romance with Lawrence Walker (Jay Ellis). Despite the pair finally being at peace in their relationship, for many, this decision to reconcile was controversial due to the on-again, off-again nature of their bond.
