Chelsea have seen off competition from Manchester United to appoint Brighton head of recruitment Sam Jewell.
The 34-year-old has been placed on gardening depart by the Seagulls after he informed them of his want to hitch Chelsea.
Sam, son of former Wigan supervisor Paul Jewell, has been a serious affect on the Seagulls' success in recent times.
