Jason Momoa is stepping into a new DC role as Lobo in the coming Supergirl movie, and he’s clearly loving every second of it. The actor recently opened up about playing Lobo in Supergirl, calling it a dream come true and sharing how excited he feels about bringing the fan-favorite character to life.

Jason Momoa shares his thoughts on playing Lobo in Supergirl

During a CinemaCon appearance, Jason Momoa didn’t hold back his excitement about joining Supergirl as Lobo. He said the role connects directly to his childhood, explaining, “This is a dream come true. This is the comic I collected.” He also added that the younger version of himself would be “freaking out” over this moment (via USA Today).

Momoa made a memorable entrance at the event, riding onto the stage on Lobo’s motorcycle. It set the tone for the high-energy presentation, which also featured Milly Alcock and DC Studios co-head Peter Safran. Alcock plays Kara Zor-El, also known as Supergirl, and teased an intense storyline filled with action and emotional stakes.

The footage shown at the event gave a closer look at Kara’s journey. One sequence features her traveling through space when pirates attack her ship. Things quickly spiral as she gets pulled into space before fully suiting up, only for her powers to kick in mid-crisis. At one point, a character shouts, “She’s flying towards the sun.”

Director Craig Gillespie described the film as more layered than a typical superhero story. He called Supergirl “complex and flawed,” adding that the movie leans into a more emotional, anti-hero tone. Alcock also shared that the role pushed her creatively, saying the experience was “incredibly transformative” for her, both “personally” and “professionally” (via Hollywood Reporter).

Momoa even joked about a possible crossover with his former DC role as Aquaman. Instead of a fight, he imagined both characters bonding, saying they would “have a few hundred beers” and get along just fine. With this kind of energy, fans can expect a bold and fun addition to the DC universe.

- Katy Perry is under investigation in Australia following Ruby Rose's sexual assault allegation.

- Rose claimed on social media on Sunday that Perry assaulted her 16 years ago, which the singer has strongly denied.

- "Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) detectives are investigating a historical [alleged] sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010," Victoria Police told EW.

Australian authorities have opened an investigation into pop star Katy Perry after actress Ruby Rose alleged on Sunday that the singer sexually assaulted her 16 years ago in 2010 — an allegation that Perry's team strongly denied as "dangerous, reckless lies."

In a statement obtained Wednesday by **, a representative for the Victoria Police confirmed that "Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) detectives are investigating a historical [alleged] sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010."

The statement added that "police have been told the [alleged] incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne’s [central business district]," and that the "the investigation remains ongoing" as of Wednesday. "It would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage."

EW has reached out to representatives for Perry for a response.

Over the weekend, Rose, who appeared in *Orange Is the New Black* and *Batwoman*, responded to a Threads post by Complex Music Threads that mentioned Perry. The actress wrote, "Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s--- what she thinks."

Rose then detailed the alleged assault in various comments on the site. After one user referenced Perry's "I Kissed a Girl" song — writing, "she kissed a girl and you didn't like it" — Rose alleged: "She didn't kiss me. She saw me 'resting' on my best friends lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomitted [*sic*] on her."

In response to the initial allegation, a representative for Perry told EW on Monday, "The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies."

The representative continued, alleging that "Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named."

While Perry hasn't directly address Rose's allegation herself, she shared an image of her 2013 song "By the Grace of God" to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, with the caption, "i love you."

Perry has been accused of sexual misconduct in the past, particularly by her "Teenage Dream" music video star Josh Kloss, who alleged that Perry pulled his pants down to expose his penis in front of other people.

“I think we live in a world where anyone can say anything,” Perry told *The Guardian* in 2020, after news of Kloss' allegation broke. “I don’t want to say ‘guilty until proven innocent’ but there’s no checks and balances: a headline just flies, right? And there’s no investigation of what it is.”

Katy Perry

She added, “I don’t want to add to the noise. I want to add to the truth, basically.” The publication noted that Perry inhaled after being asked if past allegations were true or not, and said: “I don’t comment on all the things that are said about me because if I chase that dragon, it would be about true and false-ing my whole life. It’s distracting from the real movement."

Per the* Los Angeles Times*, costume designer and Perry associate Johnny Wujek wrote on social media at the time of Kloss' allegation that he was “not about to let you make accusations against my friend like this.” He later added, “Katy would never do something like that. We all know about your on going obsession with her since the day of filming that video. You were writing her music. And planning an imaginary future with her. It’s not ok to do this to people who have done nothing but uplift and inspire others."

Rose previously alleged that her exit from the lead role of The CW's *Batwoman* series in May 2020 came after several allegations about what she said were unsafe working conditions and an alleged incident involving former WBTV President Peter Roth, whom Rose alleged hired a private investigator to follow her. A source told EW at the time that the claims were "slanderous and unfounded accusations."**

NSYNC did not sing "When the Lights Go Out," but that's exactly what happened to Joey Fatone one Christmas.

In an exclusive sneak peek (below) from Tuesday's episode of ID's new docuseries Boy Band Confidential, on which Fatone serves as executive producer, the boy bander opens up about nearly going bankrupt after NSYNC went on indefinite hiatus in 2002. During NSYNC’s heyday, the singer purchased a 10,000-square-foot house on four acres.

"Money was coming in. I asked my accountant, 'Hey, are we good?' 'Yeah, we're great.' 'I'm OK to buy this house, right?' He goes, 'Your kids' kids' kids will be fine.' Now, he was saying that as if money was probably still coming in," Fatone says in the clip. "You go 10 years later after that conversation, and when I go to a new accountant, I say, 'Hey man, can you look at my finances and what's going on?' And he goes, 'You need to get out of that house or you're gonna go bankrupt.' I went, 'I'm sorry, what?'"

It all came to a head when his holiday celebrations suddenly got interrupted.

NSYNC in 1998Credit: Getty

"There was one point during Christmas they shut off the lights to my house because I didn't pay the bill," Fatone shares. "I almost was gonna go bankrupt. And I have a family. This is when I am married, I have two kids. These are certain things that happen in normal people's lives as well, but then you have to figure out, for me, how do I do this without the public even watching of what's going on?"

The shutoff happened before presents were opened, Fatone tells Entertainment Weekly. "It was horrible. I had family over at my house. Good thing I had the water, but the power just went pew," he recalls. "It was actually in the afternoon. We're cooking Christmas Eve dinner kind of thing. So all my family was there, cousins and aunts. And I was like, 'We need to call these people up right now to get this thing back on. This is not smart.'"

In the doc, the singer reveals he turned to others to alleviate his financial woes. "I was asking people for money," he shares. These were people who "had the most money in life," but they all declined to help. He then had to "put my tail between my legs as a man to try to figure this out." The Dancing With the Stars alum ended up selling his house and moving his then-wife Kelly, to whom he was married from 2004-19, and their daughters, Briahna and Kloey, in with his parents for a year.

"I lived in Vegas for almost a year, busted my ass to slowly build back up kind of a career in a sense," he says. "And thank goodness, Lord, things were able to roll. Things came out better."

The incident was a "big eye-opener for me," Fatone tells EW. Like many young stars who skyrocket to fame, he was ill-equipped to handle what comes next after the spotlight shifts to the next big thing and money stops rolling in like it used to.

"I was never taught anything as far as financials and what you really need to do," Fatone tells EW. "And the [accountant] that I had was not the brightest person to help me out. They were always the ones going, ‘Don't worry, you're gonna be fine. You're making so much money.'"

Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our EW Dispatch newsletter.

The & Juliet alum's tale is one of the many vulnerable stories he and his fellow boy banders recall in the doc that explores the ups and downs of superstardom, and coming out on the other side.

"You see the end of the doc, how everybody does have an outcome, and I like how it's positive. It's not 100 percent all positive. Let's be real. It's life and people still going through the struggles mentally and physically. But everybody has literally gone, 'You know what? I was a teen then. I've learned certain things. I know I have to get over these certain humps and keep moving forward,'" Fatone says. "And I think that's, for me, one of the other stories to get out there, to go, 'You know what? There's always light at the end of the tunnel, no matter what way or which way you go.' Even me almost filing for bankruptcy."

The finale of Boy Band Confidential airs Tuesday, April 14, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Investigation Discovery (ID). Episodes are also available on HBO Max.

Fred Armisen said he felt a deep connection to Saturday Night Live early on, especially through its musical guests and specific brand of humor

In a new interview, he recalled feeling a kindred spirit in one cast member in particular, saying their comedic sensibilities felt like “speaking the same language”

Armisen pointed to the "Sprockets" sketch as an example of the quirky comedy style that resonated with him while he watched the show before joining its cast

Fred Armisen is opening up about the early influences that shaped his connection to Saturday Night Live — and the one cast member who made him feel like he belonged long before he ever joined the show.

Speaking to Amy Poehler on an episode of her Good Hang podcast, Armisen, 59, said of the show's impact on his life: "The relationship I had to SNL was I watched it all the time. But I really connected to The B-52s and Devo and Talking Heads."

"And I'm not saying it in a way that's like, 'Hey, I just only like the bands.' I'm saying that like, Lorne [Michaels, the show's creator and producer] was communicating with me," he added.
