- Wilson Bethel breaks down the epic Bullseye diner fight scene on *Daredevil: Born Again* season 2.

- The actor digs into Bullseye's bigger role this time around and shooting the diner brawl in one day.

- "It was something like 80 different setups, and we just went absolutely crazy," he says.

**Warning: This article contains spoilers from *Daredevil: Born Again* season 2, episode 4, "Gloves Off."**

Wilson Bethel is visibly vibrating with excitement when talking about his role as Benjamin Leonard Poindexter, a.k.a. Dex, a.k.a. Bullseye, in the second season of *Daredevil: Born Again*. It's because he didn't have that much to do back in season 1. In Marvel's defense, he came in as a later addition after a few episodes had already been shot and a creative overhaul ensued to Frankenstein-stitch together the full nine episodes.

Now, the man who never misses is back in a much bigger way.

"I knew pretty much from the outset of shooting season 2 that I was gonna have a lot more to do," Bethel tells ** over Zoom in March. "Obviously, you never know what that means. Dario [Scardapane, showrunner] sketched out a few things for me, but nothing could've prepared me for the diner scene, nothing could've prepared me for some of the great work I got to do with Charlie [Cox] in the church."

The season 2 premiere ended on a brief tease of Bullseye's return: a throwing knife scrawled with the message "You're Welcome." However, episode 4, titled "Gloves Off," is Bullseye's episode. It begins with one of the most riveting action set pieces on the new era of *Daredevil* yet. Police swarm Dex inside a diner as he calmly sips from his milkshake. In the ensuing cacophony, Bullseye matches his skills at weaponizing silverware against his assailant's gunfire.

Before Bethel got his hands on the season 2 scripts, Scardapane gave the actor his pitch for Bullseye. "Dex has a guiding principle," Bethel recalls of that pitch. "He sort of has his north star back, that he had in the past with Julie and with his therapist, and that gives him a sense of purpose and a little bit of a sense of lightness."

It felt, to Bethel, more in line with the spirit of Bullseye in season 3 of Netflix's *Daredevil* when you see Dex "enjoying being a lethal motherf---er and a total apex predator."

Major Marvel reunion spotted on 'Daredevil: Born Again' season 3 set

Charlie Cox in Daredevil: Born Again

'Daredevil: Born Again' season 3 will feel like 'a new dawn' after Mayor Fisk arc

Charlie Cox in Daredevil: Born Again

"That's what we get to see in *Born Again* season 2 for the whole season," he adds. "Dex has this guiding principle, he feels good about it, doesn't matter that the rest of the world doesn't see it remotely his way. So it means that he's got this pep in his step, and when he's murdering 100 people in a room, he couldn't feel better about it."

On the page, the diner scene is but a blip, "the roughest sketch" for the stunt team to them expand upon, Bethel says. He remembers his line in the script, "No, I'm one of the good guys," which was all he needed to know this sequence was going to be something special. "That's the whole beauty of this f---ing character," Bethal exclaims. "This whole season is him thinking he's one of the good guys" — even as Bullseye kills 50 or so task force agents with forks.

Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) on 'Daredevil: Born Again' season 2.

And unlike Cox, whose masked vigilante is often doing the kinds of acrobatics designated for a stunt double on set, Bethel performs most of his own action. As he puts it, "A lot of what I do is just throwing s--- in cool ways. And I work on that a lot. It's something I talk to the stunt team a lot about, figuring out how to embody this dude with as much murderous swagger as possible."

Perhaps the most impressive thing about the diner sequence is that the team, led by second unit and action director Phil Silvera, shot it all in a single day, according to the star. While it would likely take a million dollar-budgeted studio movie to shoot that much coverage over the course of a week, *Daredevil: Born Again* did it with just a splinter unit, while main production unit was off filming other material.

"It was something like 80 different setups, and we just went absolutely crazy," Bethel recalls. "It's one of the things I'm most proud of that I've ever done. I just think it's an amazing feat."

It required an enormous prep period. The stunt team, based off what's in the script, create pre-viz; they stage a physical space and record a choreographed sequence depicting what the moves will look like. From there, they finesse the beats with the actors. By the time shoot day rolls around, everyone knows the exact list of shots they need.

This team also found additional moments on the day. Bethel remembers "luxuriating" in Bullseye's calm before the storm of forks at the counter. One of the final shots of the scene is another example.

The camera pans down to the lobster crawling on the floor and the falling ketchup bottle, and then back up to show the aftermath. A city bus rolls along the street outside the window with a sign that reads, "I Love New York."

"God wanted this shot to exist," Bethel says of that moment. "People will see that, they'll think it was CGI. Nope, dude. That f---ing bus pulled up at the exact right moment with a billboard on the side that said, 'I Love New York' as f---ing Billy Joel's 'New York State of Mind' is wrapping up. I mean, it's too much."

The episode of *Daredevil: Born Again* with the diner fight is available to stream now on Disney+.

Jo Dee Messina just proved once again why country music fans absolutely adore her — and this time, it involved an American Idolcontestant, Hannah Harper; heartfelt video reaction, and the kind of genuine support that has fans calling Messina the ultimate "girl's girl" in country music.

When Harper took the American Idol stage to perform one of Messina's most iconic songs, “Heads Carolina, Tails California” the '90s country icon didn't just watch quietly from her couch at home. She recorded her live reaction and shared it with her fans, playfully telling the young singer through her screen: "Okay Hannah, you're not allowed to sing it better than me."

The lighthearted moment perfectly captured Messina's charming personality — confident enough to joke about competition, secure enough to celebrate another artist's talent publicly, and warm enough to make Harper's American Idol moment even more special by acknowledging it at all.

Jo Dee Messina's Support for Rising Country Artists Shows Why She's a Legend

Messina didn't stop at the playful warning. She immediately followed up with genuine enthusiasm, posting on TikTok: "Oh my gosh! I saw this on @AmericanIdol tonight! So exciting!!! Did YOU see it?!"

She also made a point to thank American Idol judge, Carrie Underwood, mentioning during her video reaction: "Good choice Carrie, good choice." The fact that Underwood — herself a country superstar and former American Idol winner — selected Messina's song for Harper to perform just added another layer of cross-generational country music appreciation to this iconic moment.

Fans immediately recognized the importance and classiness of Messina's public support. The comment section flooded with emotional responses celebrating her character as much as her music.

"I love this!!! You just made her day by doing this!!!" one fan commented, acknowledging how much Messina's recognition and validation likely meant to Harper.

Another captured what many were thinking: "She did amazing, but you are the goat! #90sCountryQueen!"

The suggestion that many mentioned? "We need a Hannah and Jo Dee duet." Because if there's one thing fans know about Messina, it's that she genuinely supports rising artists rather than viewing them as threats. There’s room for everybody.

One fan even proposed a great idea: "You need to be a judge on American Idol/The Voice," recognizing that Messina's combination of expertise, and genuine encouragement would make her ideal for mentoring new and emerging talent.

Messina’s reaction exemplifies exactly why she still remains beloved decades into her career. She's earned a reputation as country music's ultimate supportive force — always celebrating fellow artists, especially female newcomers finding their footing in the country music industry.

Her genuine excitement for Harper's performance, combined with her playful confidence and authentic gratitude toward Underwood, created a perfect country music moment showcasing what makes Messina so special: talent, 1000% yes, but also an authentic generosity that elevates everyone around her.

That's not just being an absolute legend. That's being a "girl's girl" — country music edition.

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links."

The Devil Wears Prada 2 press tour has officially begun, and with it, so has Anne Hathaway’s impressive style streak.

On March 30, the actor kicked things off in Mexico City, bringing along a wardrobe full of surrealist Schiaparelli pieces, sparkling Stella McCartney styles, and accessories that paid homage to a young Andy Sachs.

Next, the actor (and her co-stars) headed to Tokyo, where she wore a strapless Valentino dress with three-dimensional ruffles, accessorized with Bulgari jewelry. She even stayed dedicated to the theme in between appearances, keeping cozy in a white sweatshirt printed with a cerulean-blue Pantone swatch.

City to city, Hathaway embraced little nods to the OG film and its Y2K era (slouchy chocolate-brown thigh-high boots, anyone?) while refraining from diving head-first into the method-dressing craze of the past several years. The result was something considered, thoughtful, and at times nostalgic, though still altogether contemporary.

It made sense, given the fact that she was working on the press tour with Erin Walsh, a celebrity stylist-slash-author who recently immortalized her philosophy on “intentional dressing” in a new book.

The Devil Wears Prada 2, out May 1, was directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna—both of whom worked on the original 2006 film. The sequel, which sees Andy return to Runway, brings back Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci to reprise their roles. New cast members include Justin Theroux, Simone Ashley, Pauline Chalamet, and Sydney Sweeney.

For the first stop, in Mexico City, Hathaway wears a sparkling pink minidress from Stella McCartney. She pairs the flared piece with slouchy thigh-high boots, a clear nod to the chocolate-brown Chanel boots from the 2006 movie.

2) Schiaparelli

“We are kicking off The Devil Wears Prada tour here today at Frida Kahlo’s house… so to honor that, we chose a very surrealist Schiaparelli vibe,” Walsh shares on her Instagram. The black fringe look is elevated with a golden eye motif belt and keyhole pumps.

3) Valentino

At the Tokyo premiere, Hathaway sports a strapless dress from the Valentino “Specula Mundi” Haute Couture collection by Alessandro Michele. The foldover bodice features a pop of red, while the skirt is defined by three-dimensional black-and-white ruffles. For accessories, the actor adds Valentino rockstud heels and jewelry from Bulgari.

4) Vaquera

Prior to the official Seoul red carpet, Hathaway attends a press conference and Q&A, where she sports a two-tone ensemble from the Vaquera Spring/Summer 2026 collection. The look consists of a voluminous taupe blouse, with an off-the-shoulder neckline, layers of padded ruffles, and a corset-style bodice. She pairs the top with black leather pants designed to look like they’re on backwards.

5) Balenciaga

At the Seoul premiere, Hathaway walks the red carpet in a red leather set from the Balenciaga Fall/Winter 2026 collection, consisting of a slouchy cape jacket and split-hem midi skirt. She completes her look with black duchesse pumps, while accessorizing with jewelry from Bulgari, including a Serpenti necklace and a diamond-and-onyx bracelet.

6) Susan Fang

At the Shanghai premiere, Hathaway wears a ruffled pastel dress with pale-lavendar and baby-blue stripes. Hand picked by the actor from Susan Fang’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection, it was designed with layers of tulle for a dramatic wide skirt. Earlier in the day, she wore another look from the label: a black minidress crafted from lucky clover-shaped petals.

NEW YORK (AP) — A coalition of publishers and literary agencies are teaming with PEN America on an initiative meant to counter a growing trend of harassment against members of the literary community.

PEN America, the century-old free expression organization, announced Friday that it was launching the U.S. Safety Program, which would provide safety training and other resources for authors amid a wave of censorship efforts around the country.

“We have heard from countless authors, illustrators, and translators who are under siege, fending off a steady stream of abuse and threats, online and at book events,” said Clarisse Rosaz Shariyf, co-chief executive officer of PEN America. “Through this new program, the literary and publishing community is stepping up together because writers should not be forced to choose between their safety and their voice.”

Viktorya Vilk, who directs PEN's digital safety efforts, told The that she first noticed a rise in harassment against journalists a decade ago, around the time Donald Trump was first elected president, and has seen it spread to writers and educators over the past couple of years. Maia Kababe, Jon Evison and George Johnson are among the authors of censored works who have spoken out about being harassed and threatened and even physically assaulted.

Ashley Hope Pérez, whose young adult novel “Out of Darkness” became a target for censors over its depictions of sex and sexual abuse, says she had to take down her office email and telephone. “I got hate mail and all kinds of ugly phone calls,” says Pérez, who teaches at Ohio State University.

According to PEN, it has raised nearly $1 million through contributions from Hachette Book Group, Macmillan Publishers and Penguin Random House among others. This spring, Jodi Picoult, Jennifer Egan and Lee Child will be among the writers auctioning off character names for future novels, with the proceeds benefiting the safety program. PEN will be building on other programs from recent years, including digital safety workshops held for Hachette authors in 2023.

“There have probably never been as many threats to authors’ safety as there are currently in the U.S,” Hachette CEO David Shelley said in a statement. “We’re proud to support this much-needed program from PEN America that will give writers a wide range of professional resources to help them deal with threats to their safety, online and offline.”

She has played Dr. Jo Wilson on Grey’s Anatomy since 2012

Camilla Luddington has fond memories of starring as Kate Middleton in a “cute movie” 15 years ago.

The Grey's Anatomy star chatted exclusively PEOPLE about her experience portraying the Princess of Wales in the 2011 Lifetime film, William & Kate: The Movie, including the “really funny” day she had filming the kissing scene with costar Nico Evers-Swindell, who played Prince William.

"I think honestly ... oh my God, there’s a scene where Kate jumps into the water and swims to William. And I just remember it being freezing cold water," recalled Luddington, 42, while revealing her most memorable moment from the project.

"And it was so cold that we had to kiss that I was like, 'My lips are numb. I'm not even feeling the kiss at all.' That was a really funny filming day," she added of kissing Evers-Swindell, 47. "I had a blast though. We literally filmed it in three weeks and we all got so close and it was just such a cute movie and people still talk to me about it and enjoy it."

William & Kate: The Movie was released on April 18, 2011, just days before the real-life couple held their wedding at Westminster Abbey in London on April 29 that year.

Although Luddington portrayed Princess Kate in the movie, the two have never crossed paths over the years. "No, I have not met her. And I'm confused why I had not been invited to the palace, honestly," she told PEOPLE.

Luddington previously spoke about the movie's reception during an interview with Conan O'Brien on his talk show in 2014.

"People really liked it here, but then they showed it in England. I was curious, a Lifetime movie's a very specific kind of entertainment. How did it go over in England?" he asked her.

"Well, we don't have Lifetime in England, so they don't understand that Lifetime movies are cheesy and guilty pleasure," Luddington responded. "In England, I knew I was screwed with the reviews before it even came out because they were comparing it to the next King's Speech."

The 2010 film, a drama that centered around King George VI, won an Oscar for Best Picture, but was a very different tone to Lifetime's William & Kate: The Movie.

"I was like, 'Oh my god,' " Luddington said. "They thought it was going to be like a serious drama, maybe slightly controversial, and then it came out. And they were like, 'What is this?' — including my family."

She explained that her family thought it was "interesting" and O'Brien joked that "interesting's never a good word."

"I told them not to send me reviews," she replied. "They took great joy in sending me so many horrible reviews. I would say, 'Please, please don't send me anything.' And they'd be like, 'What, like this 1-star the Daily Mail gave you?' and they'd take a picture of it and send it to me. It was horrible. They thought it was hysterically funny, but it was humiliating."

In the years following the movie, Luddington has played Dr. Jo Wilson on Grey's Anatomy since 2012, made appearances in True Blood and Californication and voiced Lara Croft in the 2013 Tomb Raider Survivor video games.

When the Frozen Four sent its final four teams to Las Vegas, it looked to be an all-chalk national championship game with Michigan and North Dakota, assuming they would have their semifinal games.

But just like a rough night out at a Las Vegas casino, the NCAA Men's Hockey Championship semifinals didn't go as planned. Both the Wolverines and Fighting Hawks, the last two remaining national seeds from the original Frozen Four bracket, were sent home after upset losses.

Therefore, it will be Wisconsin and Denver playing for the right to be crowned this year's national champion instead. Both teams are set for a 5:30 p.m. ET puck drop inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, April 11 in the Frozen Four title game.

REQUIRED READING: NCAA Frozen Four final preview: Denver, Wisconsin have serious momentum

After missing out on the Frozen Four last year, Denver looks to add to its trophy case with a nation-leading 11th national championship. The Pioneers, led by their freshman goaltender Johnny Hicks, who has a .952 save percentage in the Frozen Four, took down No. 1 Michigan in double overtime on Thursday.

Standing in the Pioneers' way is the Badgers, another well-known men's hockey program. Wisconsin has been on a Cinderella run this postseason, as it took down No. 3 national seed Michigan State to win the Worcester Regional and then defeated No. 2 North Dakota in the semifinal. The Badgers haven't won a men's hockey national championship since 2006.

Regardless of who comes out, there will be a new national championship crowned.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — Gary Player does not begrudge Tiger Woods for using medications to manage the pain from numerous surgeries over the years, but his fellow Masters champion does believe that the 15-time major winner should not be behind the wheel of a car.

Woods was arrested March 27 on suspicion of driving under the influence after his Land Rover struck a trailer and flipped on its side along a residential street. Florida authorities determined him to be impaired when they found two painkillers in his pocket. Woods also refused to submit to a urine test and was briefly jailed.

"You know," Player said Thursday, “it's very easy — the human being is so critical of everything. If I or any of you in this room had the pain that Tiger Woods had — think of the excruciating pain that this man has been going through for a long time.

“Do I blame him for taking medicine? Hell, no. He has sleep deprivation,” Player continued. “Do I blame him for taking something to help him sleep? No. But I don't think he should drive a car. When you're taking that medicine, it's dangerous when you're driving a car, same as it's dangerous when you look at your cell phone in a car.”

The 90-year-old Player spoke about Woods after helping to hit the honorary tee shots to start the first round of the Masters.

Known for his fastidious diet and fitness regiment, Player went so far as to admit he no longer drives himself these days.

“So I think all he's got to do is just not drive a car, and get a chauffeur,” Player said. “My reflexes, I think, are as good as when I was 20, but I don't drive anymore. I get a chauffer. I think that's the answer to it.”

Woods, a five-time Masters champion, said last week he would be missing the tournament at Augusta National for the second straight year so that he could seek treatment at an undisclosed facility outside of the U.S., and “prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.”

The announcement came hours after he pleaded not guilty to a DUI charge in connection with the crash.

Woods' injury list over the last 14 years is a long one. He had reconstructive knee surgery in 2008, four back surgeries from 2014-17, and he was previously arrested in 2017 for taking what he called a bad mix of painkillers that resulted in him falling asleep behind the wheel of a running car.

Four years ago, Woods’s right leg and ankle were crushed when his speeding SUV ran over a median and toppled down a hillside on a coastal road in Los Angeles. He also had surgery on his Achilles tendon and a seventh back surgery last year.

“My heart goes out for him,” Player said. “There’s nothing worse than living in pain every day of your life. You can’t think of anything worse. I just hope he can get it all sorted out because he’s such an asset to golf and has done so much for the game.”

Just about everyone at Augusta National this week has expressed sympathy for Woods, but many players — including Jason Day — also agreed with Player that he should not have been behind the wheel of a car.

“He’s just a human being like everyone else, and we have struggles,” Day said. “It’s unfortunate. The only thing that I don’t understand is that it’s a little bit selfish of him to drive and put other people in harm’s way, as well.”

Day, a former No. 1, called Woods his “hero," and said the reasons he began playing golf were Woods and the Masters.

“It’s hard to see him go through what he’s going through, and especially under the microscope. It must be hard to be who he is and have everything, everyone look on, kind of down on him,” Day said. "Some people want him to fail. Some people obviously want him to succeed. It’s really difficult for me to go through that and watch him, and I know that he’s getting the help now, which is good. I’m just hoping he comes out on the other side and is better.”
