It's hard to believe the 2026 Academy Awards are just days away.

Hollywood's biggest night will air live on ABC as per usual, with a red-carpet event preceding the ceremony. But if you click over to the channel before all of the star-studded glamour begins, you'll catch some of ABC's high-profile NBA coverage.

One could argue that the pivot from basketball to dazzling dresses is a bit abrupt — so how might parent-company Disney smooth out the transition? Even better: How can the channel keep all those sports fans tuned into ABC as its red carpet then kicks off?

That's where a seasoned TV, digital and social commentator can swoop in to help. ESPN's Omar Raja, who founded the House of Highlights Instagram account that ultimately became a cultural phenomenon, will be featured for half an hour during ABC's On the Red Carpet at the Oscars, Variety reports, offering some unique insights that are customary to his social-media series Hot Take Hotline.

"We are trying to keep some of that sports audience, and make it into a combination of sports and culture," said Raja — who got a few minutes on the red carpet last year — to Variety in an article published Tuesday, March 10.

"Having Omar return as a contributor to this year's pre-show is a natural fit," Adrianne Anderson, ABC's senior vice president of content development, told the magazine. "As one of ESPN's leading digital strategists and social media voices, his distinctive perspective makes him the ideal bridge from ESPN's NBA coverage on ABC to an evening of Oscars red carpet coverage."

As Oscar Sunday draws closer and closer, other exciting updates have been released surrounding the event. It was recently announced that When Harry Met Sally stars Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan will reunite during the ceremony to pay tribute to the late Rob Reiner, for example.

Harvey Weinstein has no hard feelings towards Adrien Brody, who is currently dating the disgraced producer and convicted sex offender's ex-wife Georgina Chapman.

In his first major interview from behind bars, the former Hollywood mogul was asked if he was bothered when Brody thanked Chapman and the two children she shares with Weinstein while accepting the Best Actor Oscar for *The Brutalist*.

"I was happy," Weinstein told *The Hollywood Reporter*. "It's good that my kids have someone in their lives. And Georgina suffered terribly because of me. I'm glad she's finally found some happiness."

This was also the sentiment expressed in Weinstein's initial reaction, days after the March 2025 awards ceremony. In a statement shared with ** via email, a rep for Weinstein wrote, "Harvey is happy for Georgina and deeply grateful that his children are receiving the love and care they so rightly deserve."

The loving tribute from Brody came toward the end of his lengthy acceptance speech, which saw him at one point speak directly to Chapman, his date to the ceremony.

"I share this with my amazing partner, Georgina, who has not only reinvigorated my own self-worth, but my sense of value and my values," Brody said. "And her beautiful children, Dash and India. I know it's been a roller coaster, but, thank you for accepting me into your life. Popsy's coming home a winner!"

Chapman and Weinstein were married for a decade, but separated in 2017, following reports in *The New York Times** *and *The New Yorker* that accused the prolific producer of sexual misconduct with more than a dozen women. The couple finalized their divorce in 2022.

Weinstein noted that while he and Chapman no longer speak to one another, she continues to allow him contact with their children.

"She lets me see our children, which I am grateful for," he said. "I am sorry she got such a bad rap. She knew nothing about what I was doing. I was a master of deception."

Referencing her fashion label Marchesa, he added, "To punish her company is an act of insanity. All those women she dressed so beautifully abandoned her overnight. Have some courage, for God's sake!"

In addition to his kids with Chapman, Weinstein has three daughters with his first wife, Eve Chilton. He told *The Hollywood Reporter* that while he is in contact with his eldest daughter, who he speaks to "every single day," he has not been able to reach the other two kids from his first marriage.

"[They] haven't talked to me for six years," Weinstein said, later adding, "They never respond. It's been radio silence from them ever since the allegations started."

Amid Timothy Busfield's child sex abuse case in New Mexico, a rep for the *West Wing* alum addressed separate sexual assault accusations from a former costar.

Actress Claudia Christian, who costarred with Busfield on the 1991 film *Strays* when she was 26 years old, accused the now 68-year-old of grabbing her, throwing her against a wall, and kissing her while they were rehearsing lines in his trailer, according to a police interview obtained by *The Mirror US*. "He had an erection and he shoved his tongue in my mouth and I pushed him off and I ran out of the trailer," Christian reportedly claims in the police interview.

In a Jan. 20 hearing, prosecutors argued that Christian allegedly reported the incident to an assistant director at the time. At the hearing, New Mexico prosecutors brought it up to argue that Busfield had a history of making inappropriate advances.

"I will not waste my time nor the public's commenting on thirty year old unproven allegations with an adult woman, which are totally irrelevant to the current case," Busfield's lawyer Larry Stein said when contacted for comment from **.

Stein previously denied the allegations to TMZ, noting that the *Thirtysomething* star has not been criminally charged with assaulting Christian, 60.

"The current case, which has destroyed his reputation and career, is about an allegation regarding prepubescent boys," Stein told the outlet. "There is absolutely no connection between 35-year-old allegations regarding an adult woman and prepubescent boys."

Christian told the *Mirror US* that she hadn't sought the authorities after the alleged incident in the '90s because she didn't believe much would come from her speaking out. "They 'might' have spoken to him but I doubt it. I very much doubt they would have started an investigation based on my report," she admitted.

Christian claimed she would have probably been "blackballed from working," if she did speak out against Busfield. "That was the reality back then in the pre-'Me Too' days, unfortunately," she added.

Although Christian told *Mirror US* that she isn't expecting "justice" in any way for herself, she called the allegations against Busfield a "pattern of a long term behavior and a sad comment on the fact that men like him got away with this kind of behavior for ages with little or no penalty."

She further claimed, "I was a young woman when he assaulted me and I was able to move forward with little trauma from the incident, but a child does not have the capacity to understand nor process this sort of behavior from an adult and that is why he needs to be stopped, now."

News of Busfield's arrest in January spurred Christian to speak to authorities about her allegations. In the warrant obtained and reviewed by EW, the actor-director has been accused by twin 11-year-old boys of inappropriately touching them when they worked together on Fox's *The Cleaning Lady*. One of the children claimed that Busfield, who served as a director and executive producer on the show, touched his "private areas" on more than one occasion, and the same child was subsequently diagnosed with PTSD and anxiety per an initial criminal complaint.

Busfield surrendered to authorities on Jan. 13 and denied all allegations against him.

"I'm going to confront these lies," Busfield said at the time. "They're horrible. They're all lies. And I did not do anything to those little boys, and I'm going to fight it. I'm going to fight it with a great team, and I'm going to be exonerated."**

The day after his surrender, Busfield faced another allegation of sexual abuse. As set forth in a prosecutor's motion, the allegation came from a man who said that the *Field of Dreams* actor sexually abused his 16-year-old daughter during an audition in Sacramento, Calif., that occurred "several years ago." Busfield has not been charged in connection with this allegation.

Busfield is currently facing four felony counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor (a child under the age of 13). A grand jury in Bernalillo County, N.M., indicted Busfield on those four counts on Feb. 6. Two of the charge dates are listed as Oct. 19, 2022, while the other two are listed as Sept. 11, 2023. He officially pleaded not guilty on Feb. 11.

Court records indicate that an initial witness list was submitted on Feb. 13, and that Busfield waived his arraignment on Feb. 11.

Busfield could be sentenced to at least three years in state prison if he is found guilty of the alleged child sex abuse.

It must be a slow news day when Donna Kelce makes headlines for simply renovating her home — but for her youngest son Travis Kelce, the viral story actually was informative.

Jason Kelce even got in on the fun. The retired NFL player shared TMZ's post on X with his own two cents: "BREAKING!! Sources confirm Donna Kelce's eldest son watched 2 hours of Bluey yesterday."

The other big news in the Kelce family is that Travis, 36, will be returning to the NFL for his 14th season. Despite swirling retirement rumors, the three-time Super Bowl champion confirmed to McAfee he will indeed be back on the football field — and with the Kansas City Chiefs. "I'm still in love with this game," Travis gushed.

It helps that his significant other, Taylor Swift, continues to work hard at her craft after all these decades as a pop superstar.

The Devil Wears Prada has been praised for its realistic depiction of the cutthroat fashion industry, but Daniel Radcliffe sees one scene as pure fantasy.

In the beloved workplace dramedy, Meryl Streep's imperious editor Miranda Priestley commands her shellshocked assistant Andrea Sachs (Anne Hathaway) to secure copies of the next, still-unpublished entry in the Harry Potter book series, which the former boy-who-lived called out as fantasy during a recent appearance on Bustle's One Nightstand podcast.

When asked if even he and his costars were treated to such privileged access while shooting the films, he told host Charlotte Owen, "No, you had to wait 'til drop day, as well. I remember in the movie The Devil Wears Prada, there's like a subplot that she has to find a version of Harry Potter before [it's published]. I remember we all saw that and were like, 'Good luck.'"

Radcliffe continued to explain that while Harry Potter publisher Bloomsbury was intensely protective of early exposures as the series unfolded in print, author J.K. Rowling did leak a detail here and there.

"I think Alan Rickman was the only person from the cast who was told anything in advance," he recalled, but he, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, and the rest of Potter's youth ensemble "certainly didn't get anything."

Rowling told Radcliffe in 2000 that she briefed the actor behind Professor Severus Snap with some helpful advance character detail.

"I told him really early on that Snape had been in love with Lily," the mother of Radcliffe's titular character, the author revealed. "That's why he hated James," Harry's father, and "that's why he projected this this amount of dislike onto Harry."

Radcliffe's costar Bonnie Wright, who played Ginny Weasley in all eight Potter films, also was frustrated by the Devil Wears Prada advance-copy scene's suggestion that such a thing was even possible, she told Nylon (via Digital Spy).

"Actually, the most grating thing I've ever seen in a movie is in The Devil Wears Prada, when those two little kids get the Harry Potter books ahead of time," she told the magazine. "I was like, 'Are you kidding? That would never, ever, ever happen!'"

Apple TV differentiates itself from the other streamers in many ways. For one thing, if you bought a new iPhone recently, you might have a subscription and not even know it. (Go check!)

And though Apple's huge zeitgeist-defining hits have mainly* *been with episodic series like *Severance*, *Pluribus*, *Ted Lasso*, *The Studio, *and *For All Mankind*, it's the only streaming service to have won the Oscar for Best Picture, with *CODA *(2021). (This surely rankles Netflix, which has thrown enormous sums at this brass ring, only to never catch it.)

That said, this insider talk doesn't help you figure out that eternal question: what movie should I watch tonight?

Though the catalogue isn't enormous yet, especially when you start separating by genre, there are many strong movie options on Apple TV. To that end, if you're looking for thrillers, you need not worry. Here are some choices you can stream on Apple TV right now.

Echo Valley (2025)

This thriller stars Julianne Moore, Sydney Sweeney, Domnhall Gleeson, and Kyle MacLachlan.

Moore owns a horse farm, but is struggling to maintain it in the wake of her partner's death. Things brighten when her troubled daughter Claire (Sweeney) returns, but soon the scuzzball drug dealers and lowlifes she's been palling around with show up, too. Things take a turn when Claire takes off, only to come back covered in someone else's blood. (Rarely a good sign!) What follows is a frank interrogation of what parents will do to protect their children, even if it crosses a moral line.

What's more thrilling than wasting fossil fuels around the globe and traveling at preposterous speeds? *F1*, the only motion picture named for a keyboard function, stars Brad Pitt and his sidekick Velocity in a marvelously exciting racing picture. You'll gasp as director Joseph Kosinski's sleek camera swings and swerves while Pitt's Sonny Hayes rounds the track, fulfilling his once-aborted destiny to be a champ.

Damson Idris (protégé turned rival!), Kerry Condon (love interest!), Javier Bardem (old friend!), and Tobias Menzies (mustache-twirling villain!) round out the cast. *F1 *isn't the most original film you'll ever see, but it's built like a Swiss watch and is a great deal of fun.

The Gorge (2025)

Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy star in this horror-fantasy hybrid as trained killers with a highly classified mission. They're standing watch at opposite ends of a supernatural (and achingly symbolic) gorge totally hidden from the outside world. They're not told what's lurking down there, but they know it's dangerous.

Despite orders not to interact, the two form a bond. By joining forces, they may stand a chance at defeating the creatures within the gorge, while exposing… well, something meant to remain secret. If this sounds a little highfalutin, the film manages to pull it off with its examination of trust, isolation, and instinct.

Greyhound (2020)

Grab some dramamine and join Tom Hanks aboard a WWII-era naval destroyer during the Battle of the Atlantic. Commander Krause (Hanks) escorts a small fleet of ships bringing vital supplies to the U.K., but the waters are riddled with German U-boats. With long stretches set in real time, the crew must use advanced tactical maneuvers to complete their mission, essentially playing 3-D chess on the high seas.

In addition to being a tense thriller, it's a great portrait of leadership under the most extreme circumstances. Supporting players include Stephen Graham, Rob Morgan and, off the ship, Elisabeth Shue.

Highest 2 Lowest (2025)

In his modern spin on Akira Kurosawa's classic *High and Low *(1963), Spike Lee brings the morality tale to modern New York City. Denzel Washington stars as a legendary music producer trying to buy back control of his record label, putting up all his assets to get the money. But before he can close the deal, he gets a call: His son has been kidnapped. The price is $17.5 million.

He's ready to pay the ransom… only then his son shows up unscathed. It turns out the kidnappers made a mistake and got his chauffeur's son instead. Whoopsie! Suddenly he's a lot less eager to fork over the cash, which is understandable but *not very nice*. A series of ethically blurry twists and turns ensue.

Tetris (2023)

Can the story of a video game's origin be a legit thriller? Surprisingly, it can — at least when it involves Cold War shenanigans. This wacky, somewhat-true tale stars Taron Egerton as Dutch software developer Henk Rogers, who gets a glimpse at a homemade and addictive new game from the Soviet Union.

He's able to convince Nintendo to bundle it on its new Gameboy devices, but first he's got to secure the rights. This involves a trip behind the Iron Curtain, where cultural misunderstandings can quickly turn deadly serious. A chase sequence reimagined as descending Tetris blocks is emblematic of the film's offbeat humor.

Wolfs (2024)

Jon Watts, the man behind three insanely successful *Spider-Man *MCU movies, directed this crime thriller that pairs up George Clooney and Brad Pitt. The two are both fixers — men who specialize in solving problems, legal or otherwise, for wealthy people caught in a jam. But trouble comes when they're both hired for the same job.

Zings, barbs, and japes fly between the two, but the banter soon gives way to grand action set pieces. There was a time when a movie like this would have made a zillion dollars at the box office.
