- Guy Fieri says there's one catchphrase among "a million" he's inspired that he hears everywhere he goes.

- "Through the 20 years of doing this, there's been a bunch. But the big thing that comes up now is 'The Mayor of Flavortown,'" Fieri tells EW. "That pretty much catches everybody's attention."

- Fieri previously recalled the first time he uttered the phrase, when encountering a delicious pizza that prompted him to exclaim, "'Look at this thing! It's like the steering wheel on the bus going to Flavortown.'"

You know what Guy Fieri looks like, but how does he sound?

Fans have a pretty solid idea. The celebrity chef, restauranteur, and Food Network staple tells * *that of the hundreds upon hundreds of fan interactions he has every month, there's one catchphrase that follows him wherever he goes.**

"Oh, I've got a million," Fieri says in a conversation to promote his recent collaboration with Bosch for the 2026 Super Bowl, which saw the *Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives *host trade in his iconic frosty tips and goatee for a clean shave and a combover.

"I've never said words or things to make them catchphrases. I just kind of talk nonsensical, you know?" Fieri offers up examples that he hears parroted back to him by his legion of fans: "'That's off the hook!' or 'That's money!' or 'I'd eat that off a flip flop.'" There's one phrase, more a moniker than anything, that Fieri says has come to dominate his public mentions.

"Through the 20 years of doing this, there's been a bunch. But the big thing that comes up now is 'The Mayor of Flavortown.' Yeah. 'This is in Flavortown.' 'Let's go to Flavortown.' That pretty much catches everybody's attention," he says.

Fieri started out as a restaurant manager before opening his first restaurant chain, Johnny Garlic's, throughout California as the '90s turned to the aughts. He became well known in culinary circles for his New York City venture Guy's American Kitchen and Bar, which landed him on the second season of *The Next Food Network Star*, which he won.

He's been a Food Network mainstay ever since, hosting series like *Diners*, *Guy's Grocery Games*, and *Tournament of Champions*. The "Mayor of Flavortown" moniker that's now synonymous with Fieri has become so prevalent that the network even channeled it for Fieri's next big project, the forthcoming reality competition series *Flavortown Food Fight*.

Fieri reflected on the origins of the phrase in a 2025 appearance on *The Late Show with Stephen Colbert*.

"'Flavortown' was this mythical place," Fieri said that he would go to "every time I'd try something really great." It first came about when he encountered a perfect pizza that prompted him to exclaim, "'Look at this thing! It's like the steering wheel on the bus going to Flavortown.'"

Fieri recalled that shortly after using the phrase on *Diners*, "People started walking up in airports, going, 'Hey! Flavortown!' And then, someone yelled at me, 'It's the Mayor of Flavortown!'"**

Guy tells EW that he relishes his harmonious relationship with his fans — so he's not about to stop all the talk about Flavortown. He's embraced the fact that he's become a kind of cultural icon. More than that: he's channeled it for good.

"There's FieriCon that happens in New York. There's Flavortown Basin that happens at a big ski resort. A big group does a whole day of Guy where there's 800 people dressed in the flame shirts and the flare hair and the goatee and all that," he explains. "They actually raise money and donate their fundraising at their event to my foundation, the Guy Fieri Foundation."

Since 2011, The Guy Fieri Foundation has organized programs to train aspiring chefs lacking the means to pursue formal education, supported first responders through disaster relief, and launched literacy campaigns in Fieri's native Sonoma County, Calif.

Hailey Bieber made an honest and relatable bedroom confession on 'Therapuss with Jake Shane.' Bieber kicked off Season 3 of Therapuss with Jake Shane with the kind of candid charm that has made her a podcast favorite. The 29-year-old model sat on a cozy set that looked more like a living room than a studio. She wore an oversized black leather jacket over a simple white T-shirt and styled her hair in a soft, slightly messy updo.

At one point, Hailey Bieber leaned toward the microphone and asked a question that quickly caught people's attention. "Is there any better feeling in the world than coming home from a long day and getting your sweatpants on?" she asked. Host Jake Shane, 26, jumped in with his own addition: "Or also, fresh sheets and sweatpants?" Bieber didn't hesitate. "A shower, sweatpants, bed. Postmates, all of it," she said. "I'm just like: 'I love it.'" She added her idea of luxury is simple – clean sheets, comfortable clothes, and takeout food.

Hailey Bieber also shared a sweet update about life at home with her 16-month-old son, Jack Blues Bieber, whom she shares with husband Justin Bieber. When Shane asked what Jack had been saying lately, Bieber lit up. "So he talks a lot about basketball," she revealed with a laugh. "He says basketball all the time. I went to get him up from his nap today, and he was like, 'basketball.' It's insane. So funny," she added.

Bieber also said that Jack recently started saying "please" out loud after previously signing it in American Sign Language. "He knew how to sign please for a really long time," she explained, demonstrating the gesture with her hand. "So if I would say, 'Hey, say please,' he would go this as please," she added.

It seems Tyra Banks would prefer *not* to be on top of answering questions about her estranged friend Jay Manuel's firing from *America's Next Top Model*, per a scene in the new Netflix docuseries *Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model*.

As *ANTM* creative director and frequent panelist, Manuel says in the three-part documentary series, the fashion figure first sought longtime friend and collaborator Banks' approval to leave the beloved modeling competition series after its eighth cycle in 2007. He then alleges that things became uncomfortable on set between the pair, with Manuel claiming that Banks responded to his lengthy, emotional email on the subject with three words, "I am disappointed," and that he consequently felt pressured to remain on the show for the foreseeable future.

Manuel and fellow OG *ANTM* personalities — photographer Nigel Barker and runway coach Miss J. Alexander — were eventually dismissed from the show years later after cycle 18, which Manuel says came as a blindsiding surprise. He also suggests in the docuseries that Banks and producers might've had something to do with leaking news about the trio's firing ahead of what he says was a planned press release indicating an amicable split.

When *Reality Check* producers question Banks about Manuel in her sit-down interview for the project, she shuts down the inquiry and refuses to address the drama.

"Nah, I'd prefer…" Banks says, briefly trailing off before collecting her thoughts. "Yeah, I should call Jay."

She adds, "I don't want to do this here. But, he's a special man." (A representative for Banks did not respond to **'s request for comment.)

Manuel elaborates on why he felt a pressure to remain with the show for so long after expressing interest in leaving, alleging that, "There was a warning that strikes the fear of God in you. People talk about being blacklisted. Those words were not used, but I suspected that's what it would turn into, and I didn't know how to talk to...because honestly the person I would always talk to was Tyra."

Of his dynamic with Banks on cycle 9, shortly after telling her that he wanted to leave the show, Manuel says the edition's premiere casting episode marked "the first time I really realized there was a real problem" because Banks "wouldn't speak with me" at the judging table.

"On camera, we learned to play and laugh, but it was just clear I was not allowed to speak with her outside of that, which, after that first day, I thought, there's absolutely no way I'm going to survive this cycle," he remembers.**

Manuel has long hinted at tumultuous times on the set of *ANTM*, with fans even speculating that his 2020 fiction novel *The Wig, The Bitch & The Meltdown *— about the turbulent relationship between a ruthless model-TV host and her friend and on-camera companion — was inspired by his time working with Banks on *Top Model.*

Other *Top Model* personalities also open up in *Reality Check* about distance from Banks after the show, including Miss J, who reveals in the series that he had a stroke in 2022 that left him in a coma and subsequently paralyzed. He tells the production that Banks never came to see him in the hospital, despite their years of friendship before and during *ANTM*.

"I had a stroke. I woke up, I didn't know where I was, other than the hospital," Miss J says in the series. "I spent five weeks in a coma, and I couldn't walk. I couldn't talk. I thought to myself, what was I going to do? I couldn't walk, I couldn't speak. It was emotional; I cried. I'm not ashamed to say that. I cried, and then once I was in the hospital, Jay and Nigel came to visit."

"Did Tyra come and visit you?" a producer then asks Miss J, who replies, "No, not yet. She just sent me a text that she wants to come and visit me. But, no, not yet." (A representative for Banks also did not respond to EW's request for comment on this matter.)

Amid *Reality Check*'s investigations into controversial *ANTM* moments from the past (including portions on photo shoots that tasked models with portraying women of different races and getting medical procedures to continue in the competition), the docuseries also sees Banks reveal that the show is scheduled to return for a new cycle.

"I feel like my work is not done. You have no idea what we have planned for cycle 25," Banks says in the closing moments of *Reality Check,* years after first teasing to EW in a 2018 interview that she was considering, at the time, bringing *ANTM* back for another all-star edition as a series finale. While the show was never formally canceled, the last all-new episode of *Top Model *aired on VH1 in 2018, after its 2003 debut on UPN and subsequent shift to The CW for cycle 7 in 2006.

*Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model *is now streaming on Netflix.

Investigators have not ruled out that an accomplice aided the suspected kidnapper seen in doorbell camera video outside the Tucson, Arizona, home of Nancy Guthrie the night of her disappearance, according to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos.

Authorities believe Nancy Guthrie, 84, was forcibly taken from her home in the middle of the night before she was reported missing Feb. 1. Nanos told CBS News partner network BBC News in an interview Tuesday that he believes Guthrie was targeted in the apparent abduction.

The video recovered from Guthrie's Google Nest doorbell camera, which was shared by the FBI last week, is the only video that Google has been able to recover from the cameras at Guthrie's home, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department. There are additional cameras from the property that engineers are still working through as they try to recover usable video. Investigators are hopeful that tech companies working on the videos will uncover more, according to the sheriff's department.

A reward from the 88-CRIME tipline was increased on Thursday to $102,500 — thanks to a $100,000 anonymous donation, the organization said — for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons involved in Guthrie's disappearance. That reward is in addition to a $100,000 reward the FBI is offering.

Authorities haven't named a suspect or person of interest in the case, and did not provide further information about a possible accomplice. The FBI described the suspect seen in the doorbell camera video as a male who is between about 5 feet, 9 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall with an average build.

"Today" show co-host Savannah Guthrie, her two siblings and their spouses were all cleared as suspects in the case, the Pima County Sheriff's Department announced Monday as the high-profile investigation entered its third week.

Nanos said the Guthrie family has cooperated with investigators.

"We really put them through the wringer," Nanos said. "We not just interview them, we take their cars, we take their houses, we take their phones, all this stuff — and we're not taking it. They're giving it to us voluntarily. They have been 100% cooperative with us through everything we've asked. They are victims. They are not suspects."

Nancy Guthrie was last seen on the night of Jan. 31 when her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, dropped her off at her house after she spent the evening with him and her daughter, Annie Guthrie, at their home, authorities said.

Since Nancy Guthrie's disappearance, Savannah Guthrie, Annie Guthrie and their brother, Camron Guthrie, have appeared in videos pleading for their mother's return.

Investigators were looking into genetic genealogy options to check for matches with DNA evidence collected in the case after a DNA profile from a set of gloves didn't produce a match in a national database maintained by the FBI, the sheriff's department said Tuesday. The gloves were found about 2 miles away from Nancy Guthrie's home.

The DNA profile also didn't match with different DNA evidence collected at the home, the sheriff's department said.

The sheriff's office said Thursday that "biological evidence" found at Nancy Guthrie's home was being analyzed and DNA profiles were "under lab analysis."

Law enforcement sources told CBS News that investigators have been using a tracking device known as a "signal sniffer" in an effort to detect possible signals from Nancy Guthrie's heart pacemaker, which showed a disconnect from her phone in the early morning hours the night she went missing.

CBS News has also learned the FBI is probing gun purchases in the Tucson area. According to the owner of an area gun store, an agent came in about a week or so ago and showed him several images with faces and names on them, and agents inquired about purchases in the last year.

Arizona reserve guard Anthony Dell'Orso scored a career-high 22 points to lead the fourth-ranked Wildcats to a 75-68 victory over No. 23 BYU on Wednesday in a Big 12 game at Tucson, Ariz.

Dell'Orso's scoring output helped the load with Arizona's second-leading scorer Koa Peat out indefinitely with a lower-leg muscle strain.

Both sides battled injuries as Dwayne Aristode (illness) missed his second straight game for Arizona. BYU's Richie Saunders is out for the rest of the season with an ACL tear.

Arizona (24-2, 11-2 Big 12) snapped a two-game skid after winning its first 23 games, while BYU (19-7, 7-6) has lost five of its last seven games.

Dell'Orso reached 15 points in the first half on 5-of-9 shooting from the field, 3 of 5 from 3-point range, including a last-second shot from beyond the arc to give Arizona a 42-35 lead at halftime.

Robert Wright III (13 points) had a chance to cut into the lead but the ball was stripped of him in the lane by Motiejus Krivas.

Jaden Bradley tied his career high with his 10th assist following the steal, feeding Dell'Orso for a dunk with 32 seconds left to seal the victory. Bradley had a double-double adding 12 points to his assist total.

Ivan Kharchenkov finished with 18 points and Brayden Burries had 11.

AJ Dybantsa, who had 35 points, alongside Wright combined for 27 points in the first half on 9-of-20 shooting from the field.

Dybantsa scored 14 of BYU's first 18 points of the second half, including 12 consecutive points.

Arizona outscored BYU 7-2 in one stretch to take a 53-43 lead with 13:39 left with the last four points by reserve forward Sidi Gueye on an alley-oop pass from Bradley and score off an offensive rebound.

The Wildcats' lead increased to 69-53 with 5:25 left on a Burries 3-pointer.

BYU went on an 8-0 run, with five points from Kennard Davis Jr., to cut the lead to 69-61 with 3:19 left.

Arizona responded with two free throws by Bradley and a steal and dunk by Kharchenkov that increased the lead to 73-61 with 2:37 left.

Dybantsa made a 3-pointer to help an 8-0 run that cut the lead to 73-68.

Bryce Hopkins had 23 points and 10 rebounds and Oziyah Sellers added 12 points as 17th-ranked St. John's held off Marquette 76-70 in a Big East matchup Wednesday in Milwaukee, extending its winning streak to 12 games.

St. John's (21-5, 14-1 Big East) moved atop the conference, a half-game in front of No. 5 UConn, which was upset by Creighton 91-84 on Wednesday. The Red Storm have not lost since a 77-71 setback against Providence on Jan. 3.

Nigel James Jr. scored 25 points and Royce Parham put up 13 for Marquette (9-18, 4-12 Big East), which has lost four of its past five games.

Joson Sanon's 3-pointer put St. John's up 67-61 with 6:37 remaining, but neither team scored again until Zuby Ejiofor hit a free throw with 4:10 left to make it 68-61.

Sanon's free throw put St. John's up 71-63 with just under three minutes left. Adrian Stevens hit a 3-pointer and Tre Norman sank the second of two free throws to pull Marquette within 71-67 with 44 seconds remaining.

James converted a three-point play to make it 72-70 with 27.5 seconds left. Ejiofor's two free throws pushed the lead to 74-70 with 21.1 seconds remaining.

Marquette's Chase Ross missed a baseline runner and Hopkins added a pair of free throws.

Marquette erased a nine-point halftime deficit with an 11-point run to open the second half. Ross' 3-pointer from the top put the Golden Eagles in front 46-44 as St. John's missed its first five shots after the break.

James scored on consecutive drives to put Marquette in front 56-50 with just under 12 minutes remaining.

St. John's responded with a nine-point run, going in front 59-56 on Hopkins' 3-pointer.

St. John's closed the first half with a 10-4 run for a 44-35 halftime lead. The Red Storm shot 54.8% in the first half, hitting seven of their final eight shots.

For the game, the Red Storm outshot the Golden Eagles 44.8% to 42.6%.

Andrej Stojakovic's 22 points led seven double-figure point scorers for No. 10 Illinois in a 101-65 pounding of short-handed Southern California on Wednesday in Los Angeles.

Doubt loomed over the availability of Stojakovic going into this week's California road trip for Illinois (22-5, 13-3 Big Ten). The wing, who hadn't played since sustaining an ankle injury on Feb. 7 against Michigan State, answered all questions with a 6-of-7 shooting performance from the floor coming off the bench on Wednesday, and a perfect 9-of-9 at the free-throw line.

Stojakovic helped fuel an offensive onslaught that began early, with Illinois running out to a 15-3 lead 5:33 into the contest and never looking back.

The Illini shot 32 of 62 (51.6%) from the floor, including 13 of 29 (44.8%) on 3-point attempts, led by Jake Davis' perfect 4-of-4 success from beyond the arc. Davis scored all 12 of his points from long distance.

Davis also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Six different Illinois shooters connected on at least one 3-pointer. Ben Humrichous knocked down 3 of 6 from deep on his way to 11 points off the bench, while David Mirkovic and Tomislav Ivisic each made a pair of triples en route to 14 and 10 points, respectively.

Keaton Wagler added 10 points and Kylan Boswell finished with 12 points, five rebounds and eight assists to round out Illinois' collection of double-figure scorers. The balanced attack powered Illinois to its highest scoring output in Big Ten play this season and helped the Illini maintain sole possession of second place in a tight conference competition.

USC (18-8, 7-8), meanwhile, found itself in a tough spot before opening tip. Season-long leading scorer Chad Baker-Mazara was a late scratch from the lineup, and his backcourt mates -- Alijah Arenas and Kam Woods -- shot a combined 4 of 14 from the floor for eight and four points, respectively.

Arenas came into Wednesday's contest with three straight games posting at least 24 points.

Ezra Ausar recorded a double-double for the Trojans with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Jacob Cofie added 14 points, but the two combined for almost as many made field goals (11) as the rest of USC's roster combined (12).
