"On Our Way Along" is a Cyrus family affair.

On Friday, April 3, Billy Ray Cyrus released his new song "On Our Way Along," the first song from his upcoming album The Hill. Cyrus teamed up with his children on his heartfelt song, with daughter Noah Cyrus singing alongside him and son Braison Cyrus co-writing and co-producing the track.

In the track, the father-daughter duo sings about the family's Nashville property "where the sun rises on the hill" and all they've gone through together.

"It's all about this hill, and realizing that my whole life unfolded on this hill, and the magic of this place here," the two-time Grammy winner, 64, told American Songwriter in an interview published on Thursday, April 2. "It's all come full circle."

In the pre-chorus, Billy Ray and Noah croon, "Of all the paths we could have walked, I'm just glad ours crossed / And all the battles we have fought, and all the friends we lost on our way along."

Billy Ray describes "On Our Way Along" as a "celebration of all things music and family" that was "made from the heart for the heart" in a press release.

"I'm really proud to be teaming up with my dad and my brother Braison (our producer) for this song," said Noah, 26, in a statement in the same press release. "Braison's produced a beautiful album and I'm happy to be just a small part of it and our father's legacy."

Filmed on their Nashville property and directed by CMA award winner Dustin Haney, the song's video opens with Billy Ray appearing out of a thick fog during sunrise as the track begins.

The music video sees the country star singing in an open field, guitar in hand, before turning the camera to a little girl who seems to be a younger Noah. As the girl walks toward a piano, the video fades into a shot of Noah sitting at a piano and singing along with her father.

The rest of the video sees the pair belting the chorus, "Times running out, I've had too much to kill / I feel it every time when I look out at the hill," with their voices eventually fading as Billy Ray is back into the open field and walks out of frame.

The Hill, set to release on June 16, marks Billy Ray's first album since 2019's The SnakeDoctor Circus and is his first set of fully new studio material in 14 years, according to the press release.

Speaking to American Songwriter, the "Achy Breaky Heart" singer shared he is grateful for this new chapter because he didn't think he'd be able to make music again.

"This is all pretty serious to me, to be honest, because I didn't know if I'd ever get to really play the game again," Billy Ray noted. "[In 2019,] I was the top of the world, the top of the mountain, with 'Old Town Road.' And then 2020 comes, and they give me a couple Grammys and close the door."

"But somehow, by just the pure love of making music, it just happened so organically," he said. "I thank God for this moment. It's a really special time."
