- Val Chmerkovskiy is sharing his diagnosis after a scary trip to the hospital while on tour for *Dancing With the Stars*.

- "So, I got BPPV, which isn't too bad, thank God," the ballroom pro shared, noting that there's "no tumor in my brain" and his symptoms are "not related to my neck injury."

- BPPV, or benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, is an inner ear problem that is the most common cause of vertigo.

Val Chmerkovskiy is out of the hospital and now knows what landed him there.

The ballroom pro and three-time *Dancing With the Stars** *winner frightened fans with a video shared from a hospital bed in Peoria, Ill., on Monday.

"I've just been having vertigo for the past couple of days and had it yesterday," he said, explaining why he sat out that night's leg of the ongoing *DWTS *tour. "I'm just spinning everywhere." His condition prompted his medical team to "[run] some tests."

Chmerkovskiy returned to Instagram Tuesday evening to share exactly what he learned.

"What up, my beautiful people?" he greeted his 1.5 million followers in Tuesday's video. "So, I got BPPV, which isn't too bad, thank God. There's no tumor in my brain, God forbid. And thankfully, it's not related to my neck injury."

BPPV, or benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, is an inner ear problem identified as the most common culprit behind vertigo, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine. The condition isn't fully understood, as causes can range from mild to moderate head trauma, to pre-existing inner ear diseases, and treatment is confined largely to a physical therapy exercise called the Epley maneuver.

Chmerkovskiy said he feels "a lot better" having ruled out more serious potential diagnoses. Though he vowed he would be "back in the show tonight," he conceded to still "having vertigo because of the BPPV diagnosis... I'm still a little fuzzy here and there, but good enough to perform. And I'll see you all tonight."

The annual *Dancing With the Stars *tour, which customarily follows the conclusion of each season on ABC, reteams a cast of fan-favorite pros with the most recent season's top contenders.

This year's *DWTS *tour, which stopped on Tuesday at the Miller High Life Theatre in Milwaukee, features pros like Emma Slater, Pasha Pashkov, and Danielle Karagach, and a rotating cast of season 34 standouts. Andy Richter recently took over for the first special guest cohost from season 34, Danielle Fishel, and will be replaced on March 10 by Elaine Hendrix.

*DWTS *obsessives have reason to celebrate beyond Chmerkovskiy's return to the tour circuit. A new spinoff of the flagship series was announced in February, *Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro*, which will launch an *American Idol-*style search for the next ballroom ace to join the elite squad Chmerkovskiy has belonged to since 2011.
