Instead, they were sent on a private getaway to Malibu, Calif.
Victor "Vic" St. John and Christine Hamilton found their perfect match on Love Is Blind season 10.
By the end of episode 1, Vic was down on one knee, and the newly engaged pair came face-to-face for the first time in episode 2.
"Christine is one of the sweetest, kindest ... gentlest women I've ever met," Vic shared after meeting her. "I can't wait to marry her."
However, the next time fans saw Vic and Christine, they weren't with the rest of the engaged couples for their honeymoons in Mexico. Instead, the duo jetted off to a private escape in Malibu, Calif., where their getaway unfolded entirely off-camera, aside from a few self-taped clips.
So, why didn't Vic and Christine didn't join the other Love Is Blind season 10 couples in Mexico? Here's everything to know about the decision, according to executive producer Chris Coelen.

Love Is Blind season 10 proved to be one of the franchise's most love-filled installments yet. Seven couples left the pods engaged, which created an unexpected behind-the-scenes challenge for production.
"We've never had the resources to send more than six couples to Mexico, but this season, we felt so good about the couples that for the very first time, we chose to follow seven of them, producing the biggest season in Love Is Blind history!" Coelen shared in a statement to PEOPLE.
To make it work logistically, one pair had to forgo the traditional Mexico retreat. "We had to offer one couple the chance to go to Malibu on their own getaway," Coelen added.
According to the producer, the choice ultimately came down to relationship dynamics. Vic and Christine had "fewer intersecting relationships with the other remaining couples," Coelen explained.

"While the romantic getaways are a chance to not only see if the couples can turn their emotional connection into a physical one, they are also a chance to address outstanding feelings and issues with others they may have dated in the pods," he continued.
How did Vic and Christine respond to the news?

Coelen told Entertainment Weekly in February 2026 that Vic and Christine "thought that it made total sense" for them to take a private trip instead of joining the group in Mexico.
"It was exactly the reaction that you would want, which is they just were in love and felt like they wanted to spend time together," he said. "And I don't think it really mattered to them whether they were going to go off and have time in Malibu or Mexico. They just really wanted to spend time with each other."
Was Vic and Christine's Malibu getaway documented?

Cameras didn't follow Vic and Christine to Malibu's Calamigos Ranch. Instead, the couple captured their getaway themselves, filming moments on their phones.
Coelen explained to Entertainment Weekly that expanding coverage simply wasn't financially feasible.
"Part of the reason that we can't follow more than normally five, and sometimes we stretch to six, is that we don't have the budget to do that," he said. "That's something I've talked about every single season — we just don't have the budget. There's absolutely no way we could do it with seven."
Will Vic and Christine join the rest of the couples in Ohio?

Although the budget kept Vic and Christine from joining the Mexico retreat, Coelen made sure they knew their love story wasn't being pushed aside.
"I said to them before we sent them on their trip, 'We love you, we want to follow you, we want to be with you back in Ohio,' " he told Entertainment Weekly of his conversation with the couple.
