Sharing the experience during a conversation with John Mayer on his Sirius XM radio show LIFEwith John Mayer, the musician asked McConaughey specifically about a scene from Interstellar that has become a "visual milestone" in pop culture.
He was referring to the scene in the movie when McConaughey's character, Cooper, sobs while watching years of missed video messages from his kids while he's been in space, realizing that due to the gravitational time dilation, he's missed most of their lives.
"I watched it with my son four months ago," McConaughey, 56, said. "I got choked up on that scene again."
